The Beast 18 is a very supportive and super comfortable shoe. Neutral arch, fairly stiff but cushioned sole. I wear them as a daily shoe and they are a huge relief to aching feet. My only complaint is the high price, but worth it so far. I am on my second pair.

This was my first pair of Brooks running shoes. I took the quiz to find out which style was best for me, and read lots of reviews. The fit was amazing. However, I felt that these shoes had too much support and not enough cushion. I bought these for work at a hospital where I am on my feet all day, and my feet felt fatigued after wearing them for just a few hours. Based on the reviews of others, I have to think that these shoes just weren’t right for my feet. It’s a shame because the style and fit were great.

I wanted to like it. Very well constructed, much more plush than the Ghost for example or any New Balance I've tried. However, at least in the 4E size, the shoe is too narrow at the arch - your arch is digging in along the vertical side of the shoe instead of sitting atop the footbed. Brooks needs to make a 6E size if their 4E is going to run more narrow than say a New Balance in a 4E.

I have been wearing the Beast shoe for a number of years. Compared to the Beast 16, the Beast 18 runs about one half size larger in the length and the width is also larger. The support seems less than the old shoe as well.

Seems like a good Brooks Beast model. The upper body mesh kind of thin. I’ve worn this shoe for 9 years. Has a slight squeak I hope wears off. Good fit and support

This is the only shoe that I’ve found that fits well all around and that works for my over pronation. Ive purchased a pair every year for the last 3 years and just did again. The darker colors allow me to wear them to work which is great as they used to only come in bright colors making them more conspicuous. This past pair did not wear as well as the year before with the heel breaking down earlier than expected. Hopefully this doesn’t become a trend.

these are a pair of shoes i bought for my son. he is 6'5" and works in a busy hospital lab. lots of walking on concrete. recently, he had been complaining of foot and back pain. being a good mom i went to zappos and did some research for a comfortable stable shoe. i asked him how they felt, after he had worn the shoes for a couple of days, and found that his foot and back pain have gotten better (the shoes along with physical therapy did the trick).

I have purchased 4 Beast 16 over the years and the beast 18 has exceeded the 16 by a wide margin. My major complaint is that the color selection was minimal. The light color does nothing for me since I wear the shoe every day and it would bound to get dirty soon. Now I alternate between the 16 and the 18. Excellent comfort.

This is and always has been a great shoe, although personally I feel like the 2016 has a more durable and slightly more stylish upper. The mesh gives me the impression of being cheap; I hope I'm wrong. One thing that I really like is they changed the color of the outsole so it is not white (therefore doesn't get dirty looking).

These were the umtenth pair of Brooks Beast that I have purchased. They are still comfortable and very good for walking on reasonably smooth surfaces. As I have grown less young, my medical people want me to walk instead of run. They and I are happy that these shoes do the walking as well as they did the running in previous years. I say keep moving and continue with the shoes that make it possible.

Thought the next size up would fit... needed the next size down. Runs true to size.

Purchased these for my dad (6'1") and he loves the arch support for his tired knees and feet.

THESHOE SEEMS WIDER THAN IT IS THE ARCH SUPPORT NEEDS IMPROVED

I was waiting for the 2018 Beast after experiencing wear problems with the upper toe box on the 2016 version. I never got more than 5 months of wear on the 16s without the toe box coming loose at the tip. I just bought my 2nd pair of the 2018s and It looks like Brooks has addressed this issue with a very slightly rolled over lip over the front edge of the toe box. Brooks Beast were first recommended to me a few years ago by my podiatrist for use with my orthotics. I am a tall, heavy person and require good arch support. The Brooks Beast line (2016 & 2018) feels like walking on clouds. I've tried many different good brands of walkers over the past 10 years and none compare to the feel and comfort of the Beast. Zappos currently has the 2016s at a good sale price but... In light of my experience with the toe box breakdown, my recommendation would be pay the higher price for the new 2018s. Expensive but worth it to me.

I was a loyal Beast fan until the 16's came out. Brooks for some reason changed the sizing and a lot of people were upset. Brooks listed and they reverted back to the old sizing which is a good thing. The midsole is the EXACT same as the 16'. They even say'sixteen' on the bottom? C'mon Brooks you charge $160 for a pair of shoes and don't even change the sole? Really? Upper is much better now but I still don't feel like I'm getting my monies worth with these.

These felt way bigger than the should, and had poor breathability. I know this shoe has great reviews but wasn't a good shoe for me.

The shoe did not last very long for the price. I wore them pretty much every day for 6 months and the soles had worn pretty bad. For that price i would expect more. I would not recommend this unless $175 for 6/months of use is worth it to you. If money is no object then it was a pretty decent shoe.

I love Brooks Beast. I am a bigger guy and have worn nothing but Beast since 2014. They will literally save your knees from workout damage if you are a bigger guy. I am 6'3" 240 lbs. However, this version is different. I used to tell people that the Beast was like taking an F150 and putting a Raptor package on it. Now it is like they took an F150, downgraded it and bought some aftermarket junk on it. It fails in comparison to my 17, 16, 15 and 14 models. Not even close. Secondly, I bought my usual size and my toe rubs the inside. It does not do that in any of the other models. Not sure what is different but something is off. Had to return.

I've worn brooks Beast shoes for a long, long time, probably 20+ years. I'm overweight and have flat feet, when I used to run (less overweight), I tried many shoes and nothing was as comfortable as these shoes. After a couple pair, I stopped even looking at anything else, these are far and away superior to any other shoe for me. Having said those glowing things, I'd ditch them in a second if I could find something more affordable that felt close to comfortable. It might even exist, probably does but I don't want to take the time to go looking so I'll continue to purchase the Beast and complain about the price. It's ridiculously high, don't buy them if you don't have to.
