These are so comfortable and supportive. I injured the sole of my foot a few weeks ago and was seeking supportive shoes to alleviate pressure and they exceeded expectations!

I have "high-volume" feet that are wide in the toe box and relatively narrow in the heel. I also have super high arches. It's really difficult for me to find shoes that fit me well. In the running shoe category, I usually go with New Balance because they have wide sizes, but often a sneaker that is wide enough for me in the toe is TOO wide in the heel and my heel will annoyingly slip with every step. These Cliftons are probably the closest thing I've found to a really comfortable sneaker. They are indeed a bit loose in the heel, but overall they are comfy, lightweight, good supportive shoes. (Please note, I'm not actually a runner. I use these shoes for walking and they're very good for that purpose.) For size reference, I am an 8.5 Wide in Hoka One One and New Balance; for non-wide-width shoes I usually have to go up a full size, so I'm a 9.5 Medium in Nike.

These are my new favorite shoe! The hallux rigidus ( big toe arthritis) is really painful unless I have these on. I really hate when I have to wear any other shoes! I'll definitely be buying new ones when these wear out. I've had them for months and still in great shape!

I purchased these shoes at the recommendation of my podiatrist after foot surgery. They were the only shoes she recommended post-surgery. I have now worn them for 2 weeks and am impressed. They have great stability and support as well as cushioning. I had to order them in wide to accommodate a swollen foot. I was happy that while they are wide enough to comfortably fit my recovering foot they are not crazy wide and fit my other foot fine.

The Clifton 5 is an awesome shoe! I had the 3s, skipped over the 4s (which sounds like a good thing) and got the 5s! Best shoe purchase I’ve ever made. I have had multiple foot surgeries and my problem is more the forefoot area. In any event, BEST purchase ever! Thank you Hoka One One. Pain free is such a blessing!

Saw someone wearing these, never heard of the brand...went on Zappos and ordered a pair. These are the most comfortable sneakers ! No break-in period...so comfortable & fun colors! Wide size is what I needed and it gives ample room !

I have plantar fascitis and look for comfortable sneaks with good arch support. The insoles in these were ok.
Idid replace them with my favorite orthotics/insoles though. I am a nurse and spend all day on my feet. With these sneakers, my feet were not sore and I had energy to walk the dogs when I got home from a long shift. They are not the prettiest shoes, but they certainly are comfortable.

I have the Clifton 4 in a 7.5 that I wear for work. I bought these in an 8 to wear running. I found them true to size and very comfortable for running. However, the arch support in these shoes feels higher or stiffer somehow, as compared to my work pair. It did not affect my running or make the shoe uncomfortable, but it is something to be aware of if you have sensitive feet. Also, I think the Clifton 4 is a more attractive shoe.

I love this shoe, very light & comfortable good arch support and right amount of cushion in the insole. My toes & top of my foot don't hurt with this shoe. I usually wear Asics but I like this shoe better.

I am very happy with this sneaker. I recently had surgery on my big toe joint. Prior to that, there were no shoes that fit me comfortably, despite having my having searched far and wide. I had previously purchased and returned Hoka's, due to the toe joint problem. Alas, I finally gave in and had the surgery. Well, many shoes still do not work for me, but I was very happy to receive and try out the Clifton 5. I walked for a mile with my dog, with no foot pain at all. This is a great relief! It's back to the woods for dog and me :-).
I bought the bluish purple version, and find it adorable. I normally take a size 10, and the size 10 Hoka works well for me.

Love my Hokas and Zappos customer service! My previous pair developed a hole in the toe where the rubber and fabric met and Zappos sent a new pair. I love buying from Zappos and know if anything happens, they stand by their merchandise.

Good looking for a Hoka. Tons of cushioning and a pretty stiff forefront sole, so it's good for my Hallus Rigidus. I actually think I prefer
a little less cushioning, this was a little hard to walk in, felt like walking on couch cushions. I think they'll break in fine.

Recently had foot surgery and these were recommended by Podiatrist. I also have RA so I was a little paranoid of the fit. These were more comfortable than I thought they would be. Not a prominent rocker sole so they are stable. They are very soft and cushy so they feel lots better than other shoes I have. I would have liked a better color and a wider fit but am keeping these because for now. I needed them right away. Would like to see more colors and widths.

I ran the Clifton 4 into the ground... at first i didn't like the feel of it but it became my go-to comfort shoe. This Clifton feels narrower in the toe box. I need to return. My normal shoe size is an 8 and I always wear an 8.5 in all of my running shoes -- nike, mizuno, etc. I'm a solid 8 in the Clifton, regardless of the width.

This was a much better shoe for my narrow heel vs the Clifton knit. This one seems to fit more secure. This is my 2nd pair of Cliftons (first was Clifton 4). These shoes do stretch...particularly in the toe box width wise.

Well, I will never love a shoe as much as I did the Clifton 3, ugly as it was, but the 5 comes close in my regard and looks much better. It’s cushy (not as much as the 3), roomy enough in the toe box, with a well fitted heel.
For some reason, an extra pair of laces — bright pink — were included in the box. They really jazz up the shoe.

I usually get 0.5 - 1 size up for my running shoes, as I'm sure most people do. However, these shoes are true to size meaning you do not need to go up a size. I usually wear size 8.5 in all normal shoes and size 9 in running shoes. The size 9 I ordered was too big - should have gone with an 8.5 or maybe even an 8.

I love the look of the New Clifton 5, and they felt great until I walked about four miles. Why do companies make insoles with a serrated edge right at the edge of the ball of the foot. That little edge ate blisters into both feet. I had hoped to wear these shoes on my upcoming trip to Australia and New Zealand. Instead, I’ll wear my Brooks Ghosts.

I have bad feet and I walk a lot - 20,000 steps+ a day. My podiatrist recommended Hoka One One’s foot me three years ago after surgery and I’ve never tried anything else. I had the Clifton 4 and these replaced them. The fit is about the same. Both are very comfortable. The durability seems pretty good though I did have the interior of one heel totally rip open on the 4’s. My orthotic could have been responsible. I will update this review if the same things happen. Overall a big thumbs up for the style and brand.

this shoe felt true to size. I am returning it because the foot bed was not as soft and cushioned as the Outdoor voices clifton footbed. They were both rated the same on the product info but the clifton 4 is much more walking on marshmallow soft!

I’ve been a Hoka fan for awhile but stopped wearing them until I read that they are good for hallux rigidus because of the wide toe box. Seems to be true so far. I wear a 6 or 61/2 regular shoe so I always size up to 7 for running. Probably could have gotten away with a 61/2 Hoka. I have a very narrow foor with high arch and it seemed to fit okay. Could be better.

Shoe is very cushy in the forefoot is why I bought them to help with metatarsalgia and second toe capsulitis and neuromas. The cushy forefoot keeps these issues at bay. They also are very stable and lightweight and don't need a different orthotic as the mid strike really holds your arch up and the heel drop keeps the pressure off the forefoot. They do run rather narrow and almost to much arch with the heel drop and was kinda bothering my left foot as the side of the shoe was kinda digging into my arch so I put a heel gel cushion to get my foot up a little and that seemed to help today so my feet don't get so tired standing on my heel and arch. Nice color and not clunky. Somewhat narrow toe box. I almost wish I would have tried on a half size bigger so they would be a tiny wider and I have a very slim foot. They are pretty snug/narrow.

The main problem with Hoka shoes has been discussed before. They have NO longevity. I've had this pair 2 months, and I need new ones. The price should reflect a longer durability. These shoes start out like the "walking on a cloud" advertisement, but it only last a couple of months until that material becomes compacted and is no longer effective. The rest of the material holds up just fine. Also, Hoka has a problem with consistency in their shoes. This pair which should be exactly like my last pair is not as comfortable as the last two pairs I bought. Do I continue to buy them? Yes, because I can, and they are very comfortable when new. I wear them when I teach school. I am not a runner. I love the comfort of Hokas, but the lack of endurance causes me to give them up periodically. Thank goodness that they finally made a black one for women. Now if they would only put a black sole on it, too!

The overall size is correct, but the width is a tad on the narrow side. Arch support was a little more than I normally like, but not too bad. I have high arches on one foot and not so high on the other, so it really depends on each individual's feet.
I really tried to make these work, but just could not get comfortable enough in them. They have seams running along the inside where some parts of the shoe lining matches up and these kept rubbing my feet, making them sore.
Aside from that, they are nice looking so I may go ahead and try a wide if available. Nonetheless, these had to go back.
Thanks to Zappos for the chance to give them a try!
