I have been a Brooks fan for years, using Adrenaline and Cascadia repeatedly. I wanted to give the Bedlam a try since it was a new "support" shoe, but was greatly disappointed after using the shoes for two days on a short, 30-minute walk and then just generally standing and walking around stores on the next day. I have been a nurse for over 20 years so the ability to stand comfortably is critical! I also have been a half-marathoner in the past, but have moved into cycling more as I have aged, and I was looking for a good supportive shoe for walking and standing at work. Despite being labeled a support shoe, my heels hurt so badly with just a short walk on Saturday and a lot of standing on Sunday that I had to remove the Bedlams as soon as I arrived home and put on an old pair of Cascadias for relief on my heels and calves and low back. I realized my heels were hurting so badly I was trying to relieve pressure on them by walking on the front part of my foot, which ended up straining my calves and making my back sore. Boy, what a disappointment! I returned them for a refund. I wanted to give the shoe at least 2 stars because the toe box was a perfect width for my wide feet, but the length of the shoe was surprisingly too long. I ordered the same size shoe in the Bedlam that I do for Adrenaline and Cascadia, but the Bedlam was way too long, causing the natural bend in my foot when stepping to crease in an awkward manner across the top of my foot. The arch was well placed and my foot felt properly aligned, but the heel pain was shocking! I will continue to be a loyal Brooks customer, but unfortunately, cannot recommend the shoe at all. I personally do not like these. Toe box is too large for me and just aren't as comfortable as the ghost or the levitate 2.

One side of the tongue is sewn to the shoe length wise which does not allow your foot to feel secure in the shoe and creates an awkward fit. Actually, your foot is never snug and moves around inside the shoe on the side of the tongue that is sewn into the shoe. Wore them 3 times and gave up! Worst Brooks ever made! Waste of my money! :(

I am a huge fan of Brooks, but these shoes were a huge miss for me. The side wall is really stiff and there was a seam going down the side at the base of the big toe that would press inward and rub my feet with every step. I gave them a few weeks to try to break them in but returned them.

The tongue of the shoe is sewn on one side and causes a strange fit to the shoe and my foot feels like it is never straight in the shoe. Deal breaker for me! Weird fit. Worst Brooks ever!
