I'm very pleased with this purchase. Although my foot remains a regular "B" width, I have trouble finding hiking shoes that don't feel too sloppy--which was never a problem, decades ago. These shoes are true to size. They lace really easily, with smooth eyelets and one pair of hooks at the top, to lock in the adjustment. They look trim but are spacious enough to fit my bulky orthotics, which include a medial (inside edge) heel prop, rigid arch support, and metatarsal padding. There's plenty of height and width in the toe box, for me, wearing midweight wool-blend knee socks (Sockwell). The removable insole has a semi-stiff arch support that would probably be very comfortable for someone with no foot problems. The shoes feel padded but sturdy underfoot--great for bad sidewalks in an old suburb! I can feel the pavement but not too much. The color combination is practical and pretty--grey where they'll be getting dirty, mint green accents to brighten them. I haven't had occasion to test the waterproofing, but it was one of the reasons for my choice. I hope these shoes will wear well.

I have a medium width forefoot and a narrow heel, and slipping at the heel is a problem for me with many shoes. These fit my feet really well. The fact that the tongue is gusseted and waterproof makes this shoe trail-worthy, and it feels stable and sturdy without at lot extra bulk.

Oboz fit my feet very well. They are a bit narrower then other shoes, which I like. I wear mine hiking and around town.

I am always skeptical of a shoe when I order online because I have bunions and my feet do ache often. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I put these on and they fitted perfectly. Your foot feels totally locked in but is very comfortable. I wear these on long walks in the park or on trails and my foot never feels tight, tired or sore. The shoe has good support for the arch and heel and the sole doesn't slip and has good traction.

Great arch support, very comfortable! I love these shoes and have been wearing them all day, every day. Very happy! I wish they made dress shoes also because the comfort is fantastic.

I put these on and immediately needed to walk through wet grass. I wore them the first time for several hours and they felt like I'd had them forever. Very comfortable, no breakin necessary. My right arch must be slightly higher because getting the tension right on the laces of the right one is tricky but once I do, all is well. They are nicely water proof. They don't feel heavy but they sound heavy when walking. There's no sneaking around in these! They feel very sturdy but surprisingly comfortable. It is a very low profile, so the ankle is very exposed. If your ankles shift a lot when hiking over gnarly terrain, this could be an problem.

These shoes are a perfect fit for me. I debated about going up half a size so I could wear a thicker sock in the winter but, I am glad that I didn't. I do a 3+ mile hike most mornings and they are very warm and comfortable with a light weight sock. I will wear them for errands and around town. The are very stylish and sporty, not bulky at all. I would consider getting a second pair in a different color.

I purchased these last minute for a trip to Zion. It was a BIG gamble because I didn't have time to break them in. Even on day 3 of hiking they felt so comfortable! I love these shoes and I'm hoping for a non-waterproof version next summer?!

I so needed to start some hiking again after being confined for such a long time. These boots were just perfect. Fit well, no blisters. Look great. Bright and festive. HIking brought a big smile to my face.

Fantastic all around shoe for hiking, dog walks and cycling. The stiffness is an asset and am delighted they are waterproof. Highly recommend Oboz. I wear 8.5 and they fit my narrow heels perfectly. Lots of support for all types of walks and hikes. Also wonderful for biking. Have been wearing them routinely on 30 mile road bike rides. Wonderful for rain and drizzle. I liked them so much I just purchased the higher "mid" version in navy. Great stability. These will be a repeat purchase when I need another pair!

I absolutely love this low hiker. I bought them for a trip to Utah hiking. I didn't even have to break them in and wore them pretty much every day. They have good grip and are comfortable right away. They look really great too, I have gotten lots of compliments. I decided to buy a second pair to have as a back up! Can't go wrong with these and they are made in the USA!

I was in the store and tried these on. I am totally sold on them. My heel fits comfortably and the toes are not crunched up at all. Have switched from other shoes I have to wearing these and walking in them all day with total comfort. Ordered a second pair already. Love the colors and total shoe composition. Keep them coming.

These felt stiff at first and I was afraid I didn't have enough time to break them in before really putting them to the test. I wore them about 4 times on a 1 mile easy hike. Then I hit the high peaks in the Adirondack Mts. I hiked 5 miles up one mt. the first day and 6 miles up another the second day. My feet did not hurt and I didn't have any hot spots or blisters. They gave me great support and the tread kept me from sliding on the rough terrain. I'm a new Oboz fan!!

Honestly, I could never even imagine that a shoe could be so comfortable. I'm so impressed with the quality and thrilled with the fit. I can't imagine someone being disappointed in these shoes. They are my favorite for getting things done!

I absolutely love these shoes! The cushioning felt like I didn’t have anything on at all. Unfortunately the top lace hit right across a bone in my foot. I tried loosening them, lacing them a different way, but nothing worked. If I could fix that problem I would have kept the shoes. Extremely comfortable

I ordered 4 pairs of oboz to try to find a pair that would work for my daily 2 mile walk on gravel, rock, and concrete. This is the pair that I am keeping. The shoe stabilizes my foot. My heel stays in place and there is plenty of room in the toe area. It also has excellent arch support without hurting my arch. My foot is on the narrow side, especially my heel. They are comfortable right from the start wearing them around the house and then wearing them for a walk. I have had success with oboz before and am glad to have found another pair. I thought some of the other styles looked better on my foot but I chose comfort. If I could change anything it would be the accent color. I like the gray, but beach glass is more of a bright mint.
I'd also recommend:
dansko, birkenstock, kodiak, ecco, teva

I absolutely like these well-made sneakers. They are water proof and they stayed tied. You do need to break them in because of the foot insert. This helps with keeping your feet steady if you are walking on a rocky or steep terrain. However you can take the inserts out. I have worn them on a 2-mile walk. Don't walk that far when you first wear them. I'm going to wear them on my Safari trip to Tanzania in June. They will be broken in by then. Can't wait!

Took a chance on Oboz as replacement for my beloved Ahnu walkers which are no longer offered in size 11. I like everything about the Oboz except the white leather trim on the tongue. The fit is true, arch support is adequate (for high arches) and has room for my orthotics. Happy to find a supportive walking shoe that is waterproof for rainy hikes and cobbled streets. These are just what I need.

These shoes are true to size which made buying them online great!. Comfortable right out of the box. The only negative was the insole which felt too hard. I replace it with a more forgiving one and the shoes are perfect.

Really pleased with this hiking shoe. Wore the shoes on a 5 mile hike the day after I received them and was impressed by the comfort. No break-in period needed. I normally wear a 10 N in shoes and have a high arch, but the 10 M works well for me because of the lacing. And, I love the color!

Love these shoes because...1) very comfortable, true to size, great arch support, I have plantar fasciitis and these will help, 2) they look great, 3) versatile - just used them for hiking, will be fine in rain or snow, 4) a little pricey, BUT I am sure they will last forever, or at least 10 years, because they are so well made. Very pleased with this purchase!

I walked out of the store wearing them b/c they were so comfortable! They fit my narrow and flat feet well, and my custom-made orthotics fit easily once I removed the insole. They are attractive and lightweight.
