These boots, bought in early July 2019, were comfortable right out of the box and are easy/quick to lace up or adjust. I have to knot the bow to keep them tied, but still like round laces better than flat. I bought these because there were a couple comments that they ran narrow and I have VERY narrow feet. I also like that they are light (for a boot) because I'm gettin' old. My first hiking boots (the old-style all-leather Vasque) that I was able to order in narrow (in the old days) lasted me 20+ years of light to moderate use (about 10 day-hikes a year of 5-10 miles). I say moderate due to PA trails being rocks. rocks and more rocks, and often steep. (Ask any AT thru-hiker, lol Known as "The place boots go to die.") These are a bit too roomy in the toe box (for me) so I wear thick socks and tie-em-up tight to keep my feet from slipping forward on the steep downhills. Toe bump not good. I do wish I would have gotten a full size bigger instead of a half size so that I could have added a thin insole to take up width, because insoles also take up some length. Other than getting into water over the top of the boots, they have been waterproof in rain, shallower water, snow and muck. These things stick to rocks like mountain goat feet! Can leap and land with confidence. Also grippy on wet surfaces and in mud. But. oddly, on thin slightly damp mud over smooth rock, have slipped a couple times (including down a rock staircase), but that was a heavily traveled steep trail in a humid waterfall gorge and only happened that one day. Yet, no problem on wet mud that day. Don't care much about what color my boots are, but do love the blue. They clean up pretty well, too. Since I'm being detailed, my foot length measures 7-1/2 AA-AAA, but I usually cheat down to 7 B to keep my shoes on my feet, IF I can find anything that runs narrow. Wear size 8 in sneakers and hiking boots. Merry Covid Christmas, Y'all! Happy Hiking. too!!

I purchased the women's insulated hiking boot from Bean's at their Freeport store in the winter and was very pleased. So this spring since I already knew my size I was able to purchase these by mail (because of Covid). Usually take a size 7 1/2 to an 8, have a fairly high arch. I do not have wide feet but seems to have extra room. This 8 leaves room for a "Darn Tough" brand thicker sock. I have Bean's Cresta hikers which are way more boot than these-- but I am getting older and those are now feeling slightly stiff around my ankles. These oboz are so comfortable. I have worn them over various terrains and have not had any slipping over rocks, dry, wet, or leaves. I have not wadded through ankle deep water so I can't attest to that much waterproofing. Certainly crossed streams and plenty of mud and my feet stayed dry. I do wish the tread was a little deeper but that is in my head since I have not once slipped with any incline/decline. I don't save these boots for just hiking. I wear them anytime I'm going for a walk in the woods. So comfortable and sturdy. An added plus is getting complements on how great they look and this was after a whole summer of heavy wear. But Bean's I did not see the Oboz insulated on line. I know I'll need a new pair of winter ones next year. We women do not have the choices men have when it comes to trekking through the woods. Love the men's hunting boots with lots of thinsulate. Tons of choices for them. However, thank you Bean's for adding Oboz to your line of boots.

I returned these because the Oboz arch support was in the wrong place for my foot and was painfully too high. I now have The Teva Grandvew GTX which fits perfectly, like my old Ahnu boots. I don't like nor need an arch support, my feet do just fine without it, but I do need a secure heel and the Teva has that.

Ordered these just in time for a 16-mile climb up and down Mt Marcy. I was nervous because I didn’t have a chance to wear them in, and this was a monster hike with mud, ice, lots of rocks to navigate, and steep climbs. The boots stayed dry through many mud puddles, kept me from slipping on icy and muddy terrain, and provided fantastic foot and ankle support! I have foot/ankle issues and made it the whole hike without pain. They are also very stylish for hiking boots. Too bad I muddied them up so severely on first wear.

These were nice. I am a 8 1/2 shoe size but usually order 9 in boots for my wider toe area and thicker socks. They were comfortable and fit nicely. Ultimately returned them though because there is no insulation— my mistake. I thought I had read that they were a winter hiker. I will definitely try the brand again the next time I need a regular hiking shoe or boot.

I am new to Oboz, but think I have found my new favorite hiking shoe! Was looking for a high-top, waterproof option to help me transition from summer, to fall and winter hiking. The fit is just right. I need a wide toe box, but have a relatively small foot. Often, wide shoes feel sloppy. These do not! The shoe is light and comfortable, with nice ankle and arch support. My first hike wearing my new shoes was 4.5 miles and I have no complaints! The huckleberry color combination is super cute, too! I'm a fan!

This is the best shoe I own. I was unsure at first how the arch support would work, as I have very low arches and I tend to avoid even mild support. This shoe really is made for the structure of women's feet. I've worn these shoes on several hikes now, and my feet have never been happier. They are strong, supportive, but also move with your foot just enough. I'm going to purchase the low rise Sapphire Oboz as well, just for day trips and walking around my neighborhood. For hiking, I recommend these though, because they have the ankle support.

Comfortable almost immediately, maybe a little stiff around the ankle but gives good support there, fit was good with medium socks, may be snug if I need thick socks. Nice room in the toe box. Very nice color combination.

This is a fantastic hiking boot with minimal, if any, time needed to break in. Purchased these before our trip to the Grand Canyon, wore a few times casually before the trip (they were even cute to wear around town!), then hiked 6 hours in and out of the canyon (6 miles with a 2K ft elevation change) without any problems at all! I loved the blue color - though that quickly was covered with dust from the hike, so I guess color doesn't matter so much in the end. Highly recommend these!

I've worn these on numerous 3-8 mile hikes through various (mainly very rocky) terrain and they are amazing. Wonderful ankle support (have saved me a few times from what should've been twisted ankles over very rocky PA trails) and have kept my feet dry in rather wet conditions. Would absolutely order again. Don't drive in these, as you need more ankle mobility than these afford.

I was having trouble finding a shoe I could walk in beside Chaco sandals. When I found out Chacos made different shoes I gave it a try and I’m glad I did. I wear a size 11 and for me they fit great and are just what I needed.

I hiked for miles in these boots! I spent days hiking in Tuscany, Italy in July. All types of terrain and altitudes. These boots had great support, were light weight, durable and had great traction. They never got too hot or heavy. The kind and knowledgeable gentleman who recommended them at the store was a God-send. He showed me the different quality boots at different prices. I was all about price at first, but placing these badboys on my feet was a noticeable difference. These boots are worth the moderate price. Oh! I have small bunions...these were wide enough to accommodate. I didn't feel any pain.

I hope that OBOZ will make the shorter version of this hiker(Oboz Sapphire) in the HUCKLEBERRY color. I already have one pair of the shorter version in MERLOT and love that shoe !! The other color choices are charcoal which I do not care for and BOYSENBERRY which is almost the same color I already have (MERLOT). I will keep watching to see what NEW colors will become available.

I have owned lots of boots: ll Bean, Merell, Keen, Etc. but this is my first pair of Oboz and I'm obsessed with them. - very soft upper leather but still extremely supportive - very high arch -i have no issues with my bunion - eye-catching color (why are hiking boots always brown ???) - No break in time needed - extremely comfortable on all terrains - waterproof - I think they run slightly small

Absolutely marvelous hiking boots! Stylish, cushioned. I have skinny feet and usually wear a size 6, but needed to get a size 6.5 in these boots. They felt great right out of the box. They are not as seriously supportive as more robust hiking boots, but definitely supportive enough and hug the feet very nicely. I am sure I will spend many happy hiking days in them.

I bought this pair of boots for a hiking trip in Acadia National Park but they are so comfortable I wore them walking all over in Maine. No blisters or rubbing, fit true to size and they are so cute!!! Virtually no break-in time required. Would definitely recommend them.

Update! I returned the 7.5 (my usual size) for an 8 and the fit is much better. I am wearing them around town now to break them in. The first day they were actually fairly uncomfortable but today they have loosened up some and feel better. The only thing I am concerned about is that there is a slight rubbing pressure on the outside of my Right ankle. I really hope this goes away the more they break in. Otherwise they are super cute and comfortable. Of course i can't properly review them until i wear them on a hike but for now i am pleased with them.

Very well made. I wasn't sure I liked these boots at first, but I have worn them 3 times now & I find them to be comfortable. I have a very hard time to find anything that's comfortable on my feet. They are very attractive & I have gotten many compliments on them. I do wish they came in a wide width, just to give a little more room, but they don't feel cramped.

Comfortable from the first try on. Great support AND the laces stay tied! I am hiking El Camino and ones feet are THE most important thing. I bought a full size up (85 to 9.5) to account for feet swelling that occurs when walking 10-15 miles per day. Some prefer a low hiking shoe, however my 71 year old feet prefer the ankle support. The 4 star rating is because I have not finished the Camino yet. So far, do good.
