size and lay out of the small messenger bag works perfectly for my needs, of mostly just carrying my day to day necessities, while also occasionally carrying my small laptop. The Flare color is even more amazing than it looks in the pictures

I have acquired several Timbuk2 messenger bags over the years and I love them. I got this XS bag for casual around-the-town activities. It's great, light-weight and with just the right amount of character. The only downside for me personally is the size of the organizational pockets in the front. They are a little tiny... yes, it is an XS bag, after all. Fitting my iPhone 8+ in them is a little awkward. That's all, though. Other than that, I'm super happy!

This bag is the perfect size to easily carry an iPad as well as the usual wallet and stuff. Easy to carry hands-free and enough room to stash small purchases too - I love this bag.

I have been wanting to get a messenger bag that would fit my 13" laptop, but also double as a stylish everyday bag when I don't need to have my laptop with me. This bag fits the bill perfectly. I've even taken it on short day hikes while on a recent vacation and did not want to lug my backpack with me.

Just got this bag and wow , opted for the bright orange as it is for vacation and travel. What is most impressive is the quality, just superb. Great quality lining, fasteners, stitching and fabric. Love this bag and the options it offers in the medium size. Great job Timbuk2

I saw a coworker with the Timbuk2 messenger bag and thought: looks ok. I was brought up on the original bike messenger bag: Manhattan Portage.(that's going way way back). Moved onto Patagonia bags good and sturdy and then Jack Spade bags. I took a chance and bought the large Timbuk2 messenger bag. Nice... very nice. My coworker wouldn't let me forget that he had the SMALL Timbuk2 messenger bag. Small? Not for me.... and then Not so fast. I bought the SMALL that sealed the deal. A SMALL Timbuk2 bag is just right for those other days... not overly busy and more time for relaxing. Better than good.... it's close to perfect.

I just bought this bag in XS to try and downsize my daily carry. It might violate the laws of physics: there's way more room on the inside than the outside. The pocket in the back fits the new 2018 iPad Pro 11 with Smart Keyboard folio perfectly, and also has room for phone, wallet, keys, and even a mini umbrella. There's an odd strap that goes over the top, but I don't mind it (though I'm not sure what it's for). Also, the flare one is SO DELIGHTFULLY NEON. I own an embarrassingly large number of Timbuk2 bags, but I think this is my favorite.

I get around on foot, bicycle and public transit and pick my bag as what makes sense to me for what I need to carry. This bag works for me to have a small computer, sweater and raincoat. I also have a water bottle that fits the holder inside the bag. I like that it has a water proof lining because the weather changes as I move around the microclimates of the Bay. I went ahead and removed the outside pocket/velcro because I don't need it and don't want to wake up nappers on their commute on BART.

I generally only write reviews for things that I love, and I love this bag. The granite color is slick, and the material is a joy to wear every day. The bag significantly lightens my load but also feels very sturdy. I'm looking forward to traveling with it. The only thing is that I wish the strap could be switched to leftie, but it's not a big deal. Also bummed that it was marked down so heavily after my purchase last month! Snatch it up while you can.

I am very impressed with the quality of this bag. The materials have a nice look and feel and seem like they will hold up to a lot. It is a perfect size and the compartments are well proportioned to hold my laptop and other items. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Bought the xs for myself and the s for my daughter. The xs is the perfect for everyday use. I use it as my handbag. It contains small zippered mesh pockets for a water bottle, phone or sunglasses, and has enough room to hold my wallet, cosmetic bag, key ring, lightweight jacket and even my agenda. Gave the s to my daughter to take to her new job. It holds her small laptop as well as snacks, water bottle and her personal items. We both love our new bags. Timbuk2 customer service is excellent, and delivery was quick.

It's my second time to send a gift from Timbuk2. My friends love it!

Came across Timbuk2 in a departmental store. First time that caught my eye or rather hands is its light. First time seeing a Timbuk2 messenger with such lightweight material. After I did my hands on and tested that it could still fit my 12inch Dell Latitude 7290, I purchased it right away. XS Black. The inner lining is bright yellowish green which makes the things inside very visible. I used it immediately the same day. It is surprising roomy for XS size. I love this bag!

Needed a new bag to haul some books and papers around and needed something with a more comfortable strap. This totally fits what I need. There is lots of room inside the bag for when I have some thicker books to carry. There are mostly enough pockets, although I miss having a water bottle pocket on the outside of the bag and/or a small pocket for stashing keys or small things quickly. Love Timbuk2 quality though, so this will definitely get me through the day with the things I need.

I have always purchased and used the classic messenger bag, size XS, because of the compact size, various types of pockets, and water resistance. I decided to try the lightweight alternative because the classic bag I was using previously had a large and cumbersome buckle to adjust the strap length, and overall the bag was very stiff. Pros: * The inside is waterproof (which will make it easy to clean). * The bag is lightweight and soft, but is still sturdy. * The strap has a comfortable, high-quality shoulder pad. * The inside adjustable strap with a magnetic clasp is a neat feature (but since I don't vary what I carry very often, I am not sure how useful it will be). Cons: * The inner water bottle pockets are too small for my metal bottle so I've repurposed them as extra pockets for small items. * There is a lack of pockets for small items; there is only one zipper pouch along the inside of the bag and a smaller one for keys in the front under the flap. You can't close the three other pockets, so things can fall out if the bag gets turned upside down. I use this when I am running errands or going out for a casual evening. Overall I am glad I purchased this bag!

Timbuk2 Flight Classic Messenger Bag I have this bag in the small size. I also own the Classic Messenger bag in XS. For my needs the small is the better size. Perfect for bringing my 10.5" iPad Pro. I suspect it could fit a 12" iPad Pro, but I haven't tested it. I like the material better on the flight messenger. It's lighter weight and not as stiff.

Great colors, great capacity to hold a lot of items, 9 out of 10. Only dings are I wish you could remove the shoulder pad and internal bottle holders are a bit tight...tough to get my coffee travel mug in, hope it stretches over time

Oh my goodness! I love this bag!! I use it in my classroom with my testing iPad. It's perfect for protecting the device, easily transports all the things I need to test in a different environment. It's also great for running errands. I see a lot grocery store shopping with this in my future.

This extra small messenger bag has tons of pockets and compartments. This size will fit a small tablet, but is not big enough to fit a laptop. The different compartments allow my phone and/or tablet to be protected because I can keep them separated from other items in the bag. The zippered pocket is a great place to keep my keys or other small items so I don't have to dig around to find them. The bag closes with plastic buckles, but also has Velcro so you don't have to snap and unsnap the buckles every time you open the bag as the buckles are a little hard to use initially. The outer fabric feels sturdy enough for daily use. This is a nice "purse" size bag that allows me to carry items to and from work.

This is my second Timbuk2 bag and I love it! I was a bit concerned that it was a bit on the small side for everyday use but it's deceptively roomy. The bottom of the bag folds in an accordion style and can be opened up for more room. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing it because it's so light. Along with the two clasps, the flap is held down by pretty heavy duty velcro so everything stays secure. Overall, excellent messenger bag for quick trips or carrying light loads.

I have a few other products from Timbuktu, and have always thought they were great quality. I like this little bag (I got the extra-small size) - the carry strap is adjustable, and even though it is small, it is great for carrying a few essential items. The only I don't really like is the inner elastic pocket which appears to be meant for a water bottle or other drink. It is quite small and can only hold a container with a very small diameter. I like that it has lots of other pockets and compartments, and is not so massive that it is easily loaded with stuff to make it heavy. It's sporty in appearance, and the material seems durable so far.
