I bought my first Oasis hat in June of 2024. I can't begin to count how many hundreds of hours I've worn this hat. I wear it almost everyday in the summer when I'm doing anything outside. I take it with me anywhere I go that I know that I'll be outside in the sun. It's been all over the country, from the beach, to hiking trails, to concerts, and to auctions. My children say that they are going to bury me in "Mom's blue hat." If you need a hat for sun protection that is super comfortable and that actually keeps that sun off of your face and neck, I can't recommend this one enough. It gives you your own personal shade tree and you don't even think about wearing it. I've come here to buy a new one. My old one is still going strong, but it is quite, stained and earlier this summer the toggle on the adjustment string broke. Otherwise, it's in great shape. Now I can have a "work" hat and a "go to town" hat! Thank you, Outdoor Research!

I have a large, female head and the L fits me great. Any one-size-fits-all hat it too small for me. I bought this to replace my older hat which has stains. I did return it because of the color and bought a lighter color.

I bought a sizelarge because some reviews suggested it can leave a mark around the head (which is common for me with other hats). It's a little big - only noticeable on windy days, but thankfully the neck string prevents it from flying away! It is a very straight brim (if that makes any sense) so I find it works really well when the sun is directly overhead, however, during the rest of the day you will get sun on your face (e.g., tip of nose, chin, mouth area), so you'll want to ensure you're wearing sunscreen. Happy I got this on clearance (lavendar colour) as I wouldn't be as impressed if I paid full price (due to the stiffness/straight brim that doesnt provide the full coverage I prefer in a sun hat).

Love the wide brim. It's my 2nd Oasis hat but I've gifted 2 more to others and they love them too

This was my first time buying anything from Outdoor Research and I'm very impressed with the product. I wore this hat almost everyday throughout the summer. It's very durable and still looks great. The huge brim did a great job protecting my pasty skin from the sun.

This hat protects my skin from the ever shining sun in SW US. Using the size guide I purchased a M. I use the toggle in the back to adjust it for the correct fit. It holds the heat in even when it is warm. The brim is wide, the tie helps when the wind kicks up. A friend asked where I found it, she thought it would be a helpful addition to her travel bag.

Excellent sun protection. I plan to buy more of these in different colors. My favorite sun hat!

Gives good coverage with wide brim; however, concerned it will be too hot for walks.

This hat is pretty dorky but it’s going to give me great sun protection. I got the XL to fit on my huge noggin and it fits great.

Would like to not have such a stiff brim.

My only complaint is the lack of ventilation in these models, the colour and coverage is great

The hat is almost perfect for me. I have a small head and if the wind is blowing I have to either wear a headband or cinch up the drawstring. It's a small inconvenience for a hat that gives so much sun protection.

This hat offers great sun protection, but it catches the wind too easily and doesn't stay on. I took it on a trip to Hawaii and got a little irritated by it constantly flying off my head. It works better at my local beaches in LA, which are less windy.

Not sure what to do with the mark on it and gave me a rash. Not sure how to wash it either.

Overall, the hat worked well for sun protection and it could be tightened since the wind was gusty at times where I hike. I wasn't comfortable folding it to fit in my pack since the brim was stiff so it was a little large to pack but it may have been fine - didn't want to chance it. It was cool and definitely shaded from the sun, would purchase again.

I am 81 and this hat works for me.

I have this hat in another color and bought this second one. Not thrilled with the color but it's a great hat for gardening and hiking and protecting me from the sun. Wish it came in olive or navy.

Great all round summer hat, provides full sun coverage, can fold it up, get it wet and it still holds shape.
