I keep buying these. They don't wear out//they get mislaid somehow (odd because I usually treat the hat as part of my body). This time I got a white one and it is really nice. The size is somewhat adjustable so fit is excellent, with a cord for a windy day. I live in Florida and the big plus is the lined brim, which really protects the eyes.

As you can tell from the pictures this hat has an ample brim for excellent sun coverage. The back of the brim hits my backpack when wearing a tall backpack but I just roll it up and pin with a safety pin. Can take the safety pin out when not using the hat while backpacking or carrying a climbing pack to get the sun coverage back on the neck.

Great protection from the summer sun while fishing, working, doing yard work, and relaxing! Good for travel as it packs away without losing its shape. The selection of colors and sizes is second to none! Thanks for a well/designed product. I used the size measurement from OR and was happy with the fit.

I use this hat every time I go out hiking here in New Mexico for protection from the sun. It's comfortable, and the size is adjustable so that I can tighten it up when the wind picks up if necessary. It looks great and so far (2 months), has held up with regular wear. I haven't yet tried to wash it.

I have used this hat for work but also for travel. It packs nicely in a suitcase without losing shape. I wear it for yard work, when I lead programs for my paid job, attending baseball games, you name it. Great color and a great, casual look.

I wear this hat every day for sun protection. It's comfortable and provides excellent protection. Best hat I've ever had.

I am going to purchase another hat. I am going to go to a local store so I can try it on first. My hat is a little too small.

I've in red for several years. The only reason I am replacing it is because the crown has faded but I wear it at least 30 hours a week in full sun.

When choosing a size, I take into consideration the extra room for my hair which I like to make disappear under my hat with a scrunchy to protect my hair, as well as protecting my skin from exposure and my eyes from cataracts. This hat does it all, just choose the size accordingly. I love the chin strap on this hat--the one handed adjustment is so useful when riding a lawn tractor in windy conditions.

I wore this hat when my husband and I took a trip on a Mississippi riverboat from Memphis to New Orleans. When I was in Baton Rouge a woman stopped to tell me how much she admired my OR hat. She said she had been looking at it when we were both on the riverboat. Also had a stranger say "Nice hat!" when I walked by while in Memphis. Although the brim makes it a little awkward to lean back in a chair, I find that the light weight of the hat and its complete sun coverage are its most attractive features. This is my third OR wide-brimmed hat. Others have been complimented also. I always provide the name of the company.

I wore this for 16 days on a private rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. It was great! It not only gave me amazing protection from the sun but kept most of the water off my sunglasses as I went through rapids in the bow of the raft,. so I could see where we were going. I would highly recommend this hat for water activities.BTW/ It also is really cute.

I attribute my survival at Girl Guide camp last summer to the Oasis hat. Its nice wide brim was sometimes the only shade available. It FLOATS (I tested that accidentally). And the adjustable headband strap is great for my XL cranium. Thanks!

I have always had a warm head in the summer. I also have a big head which means hats aren't my "best look." However, I have reached a stage of life when I am warm all the time, so I drip. I needed a hat. After some serious research I discovered your company and I'm so glad that I did! This hat is so light and comfortable that I could forget I have it on. My son even admitted that it looks pretty good. Thanks!

This hat is great! When buying another one, I compared this size to the size chart, and although my head is 22.5 inches, I see I bought a Large, which fits perfectly. It is great to find a summer hat for my big head! When walking outside, the wind catches it, but that is to be expected, and the chin strap holds my hat. I am buying the bucket hat for when I want to drive, but I don't expect a big brimmed hat to work in the car. I love how big the brim is and I think it is super cute, too. The best part is - no more sunburns!

This is my ideal hat for sun protection. I bought my first one 3 years ago, lost it, and had to replace it immediately. So I currently wear my 2nd one and have a 3rd one waiting in the wings. It's ideal because: UPF protection, width of brim blocks all but low angle sun, brim has just the right stiffness to not blow up in most winds yet doesn't hang in front of eyes and gives when pressed against, I like the blue color of my hat and the gray underneath the brim cuts down on reflection especially on the water, the elastic size adjuster keeps the fit just right (the store I buy from only carries the M size but I adjust the hat to fit my Sm/sized head), the chin strap is comfortable (no hard toggle) and works well, and the hat is lightweight yet sturdy. The only negative is that the blue does fade. I am outdoors nearly every day and have had skin cancer on my face so if it's sunny, this is the hat I wear. I wear it when taking a walk, hiking, and paddling; all seasons in the south and the summer in the Rockies.

My dad bought this hat at REI last year and he loved it so much he insisted I pass on his review. He uses the hat for gardening, which in the TN summer is hot, muggy, and SUNNY. He bought a large size women's hat, which matches his large men's hat size. The wide brim (4") provides great sun protection. The dome is breathable and light enough to keep you cool in the humid hot south. The sweat band keeps all but the worst sweat out of your eyes. If you are looking for a hat to go with your carrot and cabbage picking, this is the way to go.

The X-Large fits my big head! It is classy and light weight. I love the mint green color.
