I loved almost everything about these shoes except the arch is too far back and hits my foot in the wrong place. I thought I could overlook it but after ten minutes of wearing them around my house it was clear I could not. Unfortunately they're going back. I bought them because my standby, tried and true, Keen's aren't anymore. Keen's aren't as well made as they used to be, the sizing is wonky, usually they run smaller, but not always so they've become too inconsistent. The Salomon's fit true to size, appear well made, were lighter than Keen's, which was another plus, I'm truly sorry the arch hits too far back on my foot. I gave the shoe three stars in comfort because of this.

I love these hiking shoes! They are super comfortable right out of the box and that says a lot with my wide feet. Plenty of room in the toe box - much better than the New Balance shoes I have worn in the past. And I really appreciate the quick release lacing system. Easy to use and gets rid of the hanging laces. These shoes are supportive and grippy for hiking the trails and they also have enough flexibility to be very comfortable walking on the sidewalk. I walk/hike about 6 miles a day with my dogs so having great shoes is a must - these shoes are my dream come true.

These are my 5th pair of Salomon shoes. I now Know I do need to spend the money to get real Gortex. they are the best shoes. Hopefully the sole doesn’t wear down too quick. That’s been my only complaint with the brand

Fit and size was good. I returned them onlu because they were a bit bulkier than I had expected. All in all I think they would make a good trail shoe.

I wasn't sure how I felt about the speed laces, but now that I have worn them a bit, they are growing on me. I have a wide foot and the wide is still good with a decent thickness in my sock. They have good grip on the slick snow. I have been wearing a 9.5 in other brands and it was perfect in this shoe as well. Really glad I bought them, not as bulky as a boot for running to the car, walks on plowed roads, etc when its snowy, slushy and generally extra New England special winter weather. My feet are warm, dry, and supported.

True to size as long as I order the same model every time, (Salomon X Ultra 3GTX). I tried the X MIssion 3 that was very uncomfortable for me.
