In dress shoes I wear a 8 and running shoes I size up to 8.5. I had to get these in a 7.5 but they fit like a glove.

I have a wide forefoot, narrow heel, high arch/instep and have had a difficult time finding the right hiking shoe for dog walking in cold or rainy weather and summer hiking. I usually wear saucony redeemer running shoes 6W. My true dress shoe size has always been 5 1/2M In Naturalizer which only carries W at size 6. They usually carry a few wider forefoot regular width sandals and shoes. However my favorite brand Josef seibel starts at 6M and no wide widths. The forefoot is always wide enough for my foot and perfect 6M every time with thin socks. Also most Borns 6M also fit well with socks. I tried oboz sawtooth and 6W was short and heavy. Hoka one one 6M too tight on right shoe toe box, a little heavy and slipped at the heel. I tried this Salomon 6W and felt the strong arch was set too far back on my foot which made me decide to try the 51/2. Wow perfect fit great arch and padded. Roomy toe box. Feels like running shoes. Haven’t tried them yet with low socks to see if I have the rubbing ankle problem others mentioned but I usually wear hiking socks.

I love Salomon shoes, they're well made, super comfy out of the box, they look great and I love the quick release lacing system. I found this version of the GTX to be no exception. I usually wear a 10.5 and ordered these in that size, they feel as though they run a little big to me. There's plenty of room in the toe box. There is plenty of cushioning and the tread is nice a deep for good traction. I have been looking for a super stiff sole to help protect the arthritis in my feet and unfortunately these were not stiff enough for me so I had to send them back.

I LOVE these. This is my first pair of Salomon’s. With high arches and narrow heels, it’s rare that I can find shoes that fit right out of the box. No inserts required.

This is the second pair of salomon "sneakers" I have owned. The first pair lastest three years before splitting a little around the toe creases. I love the no tie fit. They have great support and are truly waterproof. I wear these for hiking with my dogs and gardening in the spring. I got the violet color which is very pretty.

I would order a half size down (I didn't believe I'd have to order a 9 instead of my normal 9.5 or 10, but it's true), and a wide if you don't have narrow feet. These were perfect, except for the width. The arch support is excellent!

I am a 11-12AA. Extreeeemly difficult to find good options in any shoe. This shoe is a perfect width for me. If you are not a narrow, it might be tight. LOVE having a stylish option with this shoe.

Wanted to like these, but having good size bunions, the width was not enough. If I had gone a size bigger, there would have been too big.

While i love some of the features of this shoe, i would not recommend these. My thoughts after hiking in them for just shy of 300 miles: Pros: -Boa is wonderful -Look great for hiking boots -Waterproof works great as long as the integrity of the shoe holds. - great tread Cons -Feet sit high in shoe giving the sensation that the shoe will slip off - inside wears badly at the Achilles tendon area -upper separates from sole at mid sole negating the waterproofing. - despite a prefect fit, i always needed moleskin to avoid blisters on my heel.

Shoe felt correct size for length but slips at achilles. Feet are only slightly wider than avg and typically don’t have issues, these felt like my foot was being strangled. Tried wearing them for a walk and couldn’t go more than 15 minutes before I had to step off the treadmill and take them off. Took 3 days to recover from the pain they caused. Narrow feet only.

3rd pair of these shoes!

This is the third or fourth pair of these that I have bought. And I love them. They are a narrow shoe and run about a half size small - I normally fit a 9 and get a 9.5 with these. They are stiff and provide excellent support - which is why I buy them. They last about a year with moderate activity.

I really love these shoes. Lightweight. Stable. Fit perfectly. I am wearing them for work. They are comfortable all day. The color is really nice as well.

Love this shoe, but it is too narrow for me. I’ve had to return it.

All good. Very comfortable. Usually, Keens are my to go to but either my feet have changed or Keens have changed as they just aren't working for me. Happily surprised the Salamon was wide enough.

Fit to size. I’m an 8.5-9 and always get 9 in Solomon.

I just love the salomon shoes. I have Mortons Neuroma from too many years in high heels on pavement. These are beyond comfortable and I really love them. Have done more for my feet than months of PT and doctors could accomplish by providing a stable footbed.

These shoes are very comfortable for me. Looking forward to some rain so I can test if they are really waterproof! I'm sure they are :)

Material is great just too big.

Perfect hiking sneakers for travel when I don't want to bring my hiking boots. Extremely comfortable and good arch support for my plantar fasciitis, I feel like I'm walking on clouds. Easy to loosen and tighten, although I wish the lace (?) was a little shorter or tighter - I feel like I have to pull it so much to tighten it. Wish it came in more colors.

Excellent boot!!! This is my second pair. Fits a little narrow which is perfect for my foot. Highly recommend. Great for fall and winter weather and year round hiking.

I have owned 7 pairs of Salomon X-Ultras which is why I give them 5+ STARS. Very Waterproof! Living in Vermont I can wear them all year long. (with wool sox my feet stay warm and dry) Love the quick-lace feature. Fast and Great for biking - don't worry about laces catching in my bike-chain. I look forward to owning many more pairs of Salomons X-Ultras!
