Have been wearing the older version of this shoe many years while I worked in outdoor retail, so i bought the Ultra 3 to replace them. Ended up returning them to the shop as they were far too narrow. Why have you reduced the width? Otherwise they would be excellent shoes and I'm gutted now I have to search for another brand to replace my Utra 2's

These have a great deal of support, but that means they are far too stiff for my feet. I've owned many hiking boots over 60 years, and these are the least comfortable. They are also more narrow in the toe box than expected.

I bought these because they were rated the number 1 walking shoe on many sites! They are just SO narrow. I haven't owned Salomons before so I'm not sure how they compare to other models but I could hardly squeeze my foot in, and I don't have wide feet that I knew of! Also once I had them on they were squeezing my feet so much they were sore on my 5-mile walk. Had to be sent back, unfortunately.

I have bought these shoes several times and this new iteration leaves me disappointed. The shoelace loosens as I walk, which never happened before, and now, the fabric inside the heel is wearing away, requiring me to wear thick socks so it doesn't rub my heel. I've used these shoes the same as my other Salomon hiking shoes, and they are quite new, having bought them only two months ago. What happened to my favorite walking shoes???

I've put about 60 miles hiking on these, and they've been awesome and fit perfectly on my wide feet. But now suddenly they are causing bad blisters on my heel :(

I bought these less than a year ago and like the reviews below I found them so uncomfortable. They did 'wear' in but I've now found they are causing more blisters to my ankles and heels because the padding at the back has worn out. I thought it was a one off until I read these other reviews, and was considering buying another pair. Definitely not now, especially as they are so expensive. I'm gutted because I've always loved the shoes.

I have bought three pairs of these shoes (or similar models) because they fit my long and narrow feet, are waterproof and comfortable. I like the lacing system as well. But all three pairs have failed in the heel area, at the top. The fabric wears away, the foam splits and then your heel is rubbing the hard back of the shoe. Every pair. I want another pair, but going to have to pass I think.

I have worn Salomon boots exclusively for many years. Sadly, my current Ellipses are wearing out and so I tried the x ultra gtx because I wanted a low-rise waterproof hiking boot. I ordered my usual 7.5 size and these do not fit at all. I compared them with my Ellipses and they are SIGNIFICANTLY narrower. They also slip in the heel just walking around the house. I also HATE the quick lace system, they never adjust properly.

Didn't stand up to the wet English weather on the descent from a mountain crag. Both shoes and socks were soaked with water and made the rest of the walk off the mountain very difficult. Once wet the shoes lose all grip. They're great in dry conditions, but don't stand up to wet grassy routes.

J'ai voulu racheter la mme gamme x ultra achete il y a 4 ans, dont j'tais extrmement satisfaite par son confort, de vrai chaussons. J'ai donc t plus que due par cette nouvelle version trs inconfortable. Premire randonne et des ampoules au bout de 30min de marche. Le talon est dsormais rigide et sans rembourrage avec des coutures ce qui rend ces chaussures trs douloureuses. Dommage car le look et sympa et l'accroche est bonne.

2 eme paire achete en 4 ou 5 ans: la qualit baisse chez Salomon et c'est dommage. Chaussure moins renforce, matires extrieures de recouvrement differentes (parait plus fine). Tissus intrieur autour de la cheville moins rembour et peu agrable au touch: matire synthtique. Ouverture pour chausser plus petite, couleur triste. Je regrette mon achat surtout au prix ou elles sont.

I've always loved these shoes and this is the 4th pair I've purchased. This pair, however, seems to have been resdesgined, and does not fit like the pairs I've had in the past. The upper part of the shoe (the topline???) hits the front of my ankle bones on the inside of each shoe, making them very uncomfortable to wear. I've never had this issue before with any shoes I've owned, and definitely not Salomon shoes.

Ich trage diesen Schuh so gut wie t?glich f?r den Hundespaziergang durch Wald und Wiese. Da ist er wirklich keinen gro?en Belastungen ausgesetzt. Aber es reichen schon 300 m durch taufeuchtes Gras - ohne Pf?tze oder irgendwas so richtig Nasses - , dass sp?rbar von unten Feuchtigkeit aufsteigt und meine Socken nasse Flecken haben. Dass geht bei einem Goretex-Schuh gar nicht!

...ich habe leider nach 20min bereits Blasen an der Ferse bekommen, ob das nun daran liegt, dass der Schuh nicht eingelaufen und ganz neu ist kann ich noch nicht beurteilen. Aber es kommt mir doch eigenartig vor :-/

Hab leider beim zweiten Mal tragen an jeder Ferse offene Blasen bekommen , und zwar eigenartiger weise oben hinten am Rand

J'ai achet? ce produit pour remplacer une vieille paire de Salomon dont j'?tais tr?s satisfaite. Malheureusement, d?s la premi?re randonn?e j'ai eu des douleurs au talon et un cloque. Apr?s une randonn?e de 900D+, j'ai d? mettre deux pansements en cours de route sur mes talons, ce qui n'a pas emp?ch? la formation d'ampoules malgr? tout. En plus, le c?t? de la chaussure appuie sur mes mall?oles externes, ce qui est particuli?rement g?nant en descente. Si je devais recommander ce produit, je demanderais fortement ? la personne si sa peau est fragile ou non, car la rigidit? du talon est telle qu'elle peut ?tre d?sagr?able ? porter.
