I upgraded to these from the Quest and WOW cant believe how light they are. I loved hiking but being quite slim, I really used to struggle with heavier hiking boots. I have done a lot of training for Kilimanjaro in these - and absolutely love them. No blisters and uber comfy. They are a little bit bigger than my Salomon running shoes - but I normally wear merino wool socks that are thicker so they size is perfect for me.

I ordered two sizes due to the reviews, and yes they do run 1/2 size small. Great comfortable shoe loved them when i put them on. I have a very narrow foot and these hugged my heel wonderfully, however they were just to narrow for me as a hiking boot as my feet tend to swell a lot when I hike.

I absolutely love these boots, and here's why... I do a TON of long trekking and hiking, so these get plenty of testing.
1) I have had issues in the past with the bottoms of my feet hurting after 15+ miles, and these are the comfiest brand I've ever tried... I'm a convert! I also was worried my wide feet would be an issue... and they fit GREAT.
2) I LOVE the lacing simplicity, and that I don't have to loosen them up all the way down just to get them off my feet at the end of a long day. They unlace and slip off so easily.
3) They really are water resistant. I've tried other brands that leave my feet soaking all day just from something like rain. I've tramped through and submerged these in creeks and come out dry still. They also hike through snow and also keep me dry.
4) They are a great in-between season shoe. I have very lightweight breathable boots, and heavy winter hiking boots. These are PERFECT for spring and fall where there could be snow, but I also could have a warm and muddy spring day.
5) I wore them straight from the box on a hike, and have had no issues with rubbing or blisters; I even wore low-cut ankle socks and they didn't rub. The reinforced toe is also a great feature.
My only feedback for improvement would be the lace style -- they came undone a little easily and I had to tie them down super tight with double knots. A flatter style lace with texture would hold better than these tough round laces.
I will buy Salomon again!

I did not have to break these boots in at all. I hike a lot on the job as a surveyor, and I took a chance and wore them on a 10 hour work day with 10+ miles. Fantastic!

Great boots for day hikes or light hiking. These boots are lightweight and had very good traction on hard dirt with small rocks and debri. They were comfortable out of the box with no break in time!

Tried on a bunch of different hiking boots and these were the winners. Great support, well padded, excellent traction. Comfortable right out of the box, first hike with them was a breeze. Note that they are somewhat narrow, which works for me -- those with wider feet will need the wide version. Also, these run large - I usually wear a 9 in hiking boots but had to size down to an 8 1/2.

I have tried TEN pairs of hiking boots this winter to replace my 3 year old Salomons.
Apparently the toe box in Salomons has gotten significantly more narrow.
It took this wide shoe to fitI have never worn a wide size before.
But, happy to finally have found a shoe I can wear, since I DO love the Salomon footbed.
The colors aren't my fav, but the fit works.

I purchased my normal size 8. My foot is medium width with a narrow heel. They fit was good, they were a little loose in the heel, they have great arch support. I also purchased a pair of Hoka hiking shoes and decided to keep those and return the Salomon.
I'd also recommend:
Hoka, Keen

I don't have any real complaints about the boot, but I think I was expecting more based on the reviews. I thought I would notice a huge difference in weight since they are supposed to be so much lighter than other hiking boots. I switched from Keen's and honestly, I can't tell the difference. I hike quite a bit and both have been good for me.

So I didn't order these but they were accidentally sent to me with other hiking boots so I tried them - they were almost perfect. Arch support was perfect for me, the laces were a few inches short for my taste as I like to double knot my hiking boots, but the dealbreaker for me was the top of my right foot rubbed weird on the boot's tongue and no amount of loosening could get it to work for me without sacrificing some other area (too loose and my heel slipped). Perhaps someone whose feet aren't quite so tall would like them better!

Bought these to replace a similar pair I bought about 10 years ago. They fit like a glove and are very comfortable. Very happy with my purchase at the moment. I do wish that the top part of the laces went through metal eyelet holes, rather than having to be wound round the top two levels of half style eyelets as this makes it much more difficult to correctly position the tongue and get the boot and laces tight enough and positioned well. This is disappointing as my previous boots were much better functionally in that respect. Also, why are the laces so short?

The toe box was too narrow and the sole was not comfortable for my foot so they had to go back. The eyelets were also spaced far apart. It felt like the manufacturer could have added one or two more eyelets to be able to lace the boot securely.

Love these shoes. It's so hard to find a female hiking shoe for ladies with large feet (size 12) and they don't kill my feel like others. Unfortunately I find myself leaving these sit because the shoes makes a weird popping noise as I walk. It's terribly annoying.

These felt pretty good on but the tongue was really puffy, made me feel like I had water wings on my feet. I liked the fun color but went with the Teva's

Comfortable good fit enough support could do with less bulky tongue and an extra lacing eye at the top. My only concern they make a poping noise when I walk!!! Bought them in a hurry last week and am up to 250 Kms so far over mixed trails in the Corrze

This boot looks great. It runs a half size big so order down. In my case, I have a issue with my big toe called hallux rigidus. This boot put pressure on the top of that toe, so it didn’t work for me.

This shoe was very comfortable - really good arch support if you have high arches. Unfortunately, they looked kind of bulky and my heel slipped out somewhat (I have a fairly narrow foot though).

I bought these boots at the beginning of Spring and we are now mid-summer. When I first got them I could walk through a puddle with no worries. I noticed at the beginning of Summer that they were no longer as waterproof as they were just a couple of months earlier. I went and bought waterproofing spray and it is back to being waterproof! I just finished hiking in the Tetons and did around 50 miles with these boots in a span of a week. No blisters and great grip. By mile 15 or so, my feet did start to hurt, however, I would imagine one's feet would be sore walking for so long. I love my boots!

I've had these boots for a year now. They took a bit to break in but now they are very comfy. We can hike all day, and while my 54 year old feet still get tired, they don't hurt. No issues it's waterproofing, and we hike in rain, snow, and through water at times.
