These are the best for my weak ankles and the fit is awesome! They fit perfect from day 1. No more slipping on our daily hikes in the woods

I didn't actually get these for hiking, I'm on my feet all day at work and needed something supportive to help my chronic leg and foot pain. These have helped so much. I've worn them the past two winters (10-12 hours a day, 4 or 5 days a week), and they are still going strong. It's just unfortunate that these are much too warm to wear during the summer, and I can't find anything similar in a lower profile, more breathable version to wear during the hotter months (please make more wide options!)

I bought these boots about 1 1/2 years ago. I love them. I did break them in by wearing them on short walks and then built up the distance. Amazingly I have never gotten a blister in these boots. I've been hiking for 30 years, tried numerous brands and types of boots and socks, and I've always got blisters. I became very good at taping my feet! No need to tape my feet with these boots. I've worn them on multiple hikes and I'm so pleased.

These are the best hiking boots. They have great support for my feet and ankles. After reading care for boots I found a good waterproofing for reapplication on GoreTex material. Nikwax. Never have had such good footwear before!

So, I haven't had the best luck with hiking boots in the past, so when a friend recommended these, I decided to give them a try. The first 2-3 hikes I did get a couple of blisters. But since I've broken them in, no foot pain or blisters and I LOVE them! They felt most like my trail running shoes so not too heavy. Be sure and run the laces around the top eyelet twice and sintch them down pretty firmly. This made a huge difference for me.

Right off the bat, I wore these on a difficult 12-mile hike and got zero blisters! I got a few hotspots that worried me, but nothing came of them. Very impressed with these shoes!

Waterproof and great for Winnipeg, Manitoba Februaries. I wear orthopedic insoles in them so can't comment on arch support. I also bought a size up for thermal socks. They are great for snowy trails in Chicago winters too!

I bought these for a trip to Acadia as well as for some local hiking. After trying on 3 other manufacturers I knew these were the ones! They are a great fit and and very comfortable and supportive.

I really like these hiking boots. I wear a size 12 and these are true to size. So often, I order a 12 and it is really an 11! It is so frustrating. Even hiking boots that I have ordered in the past no longer fit. I wore these on a hike today and they felt wonderful. I had a tiny bit of discomfort in the toe bend, but it wasn't really a big deal. By the end of my hike, I barely noticed it. I also liked how the tongue is attached and does not slip around.
I'd also recommend:
I have ordered Columbia hiking boots in the past, but they are running smaller.

I have wide feet with a bunion on one of them, so finding boots that fit comfortably is difficult. I've done over 40 miles in these in some pretty technical terrain in comfort, and crossed a few streams without getting my feet wet. If you have wide feet that are hard to fit, give these a try.

Fit was as expected. Boots offered great support, which is what I was looking for. I hike an uneven, rocky trail, and I need the firm ankle support these provide to protect my wonky knees. The blue boots are a great color!

very very comfortable boots. i needed a pair to replace my old hiking boots and these had incredible reviews. only wore once so far, but excited to go hiking this spring! light, comfortable, and lots of protection. the style has a lot to be desired, as most hiking boots do, but i guess it's not a fashion show :)

Very comfortable with a snug fit. Not a fan of gray boots but don't really care as much about looks as performance.

I purchased this boot for my wife to use on her hikes. The boot is contructed very well with good traction for the muddy spring trails. Sizing runs true and the fit is very comfortable.

Wow! I cannot believe how great these hiking boots are and how wonderful they feel and fit! Usually there is a breaking in period, but I put these on and when out for a walk through the woods with my dog and they were perfect right from the start!
Walking through mud, shallow water, snow, k no o no problem! My feet stayed dry and warm. I know you cannot go past the opening of the tongue, but I had no problem with shallower water.
My son in law bought a pair just like mine just about 10 years ago and she has never had an issue with them. They do a lot of hiking with their dog and the boots get a workout. So far, mine are doing great and I am looking forward to a long happy relationship and many hikes with them!
I would normally go for a wide, but these are perfect just the way they are. The toe box gives room so toes are not crowded and leaves room to be very comfy with no rubbing or chafing. Wow... no breaking in, sturdy, comfortable, what a great pair of boots! Even my husband is looking into getting a pair!

I bought these a month ago and I'm really pleased with them. This is my second pair of Salomon and they have been comfortable from day one. Keep my feet dry and warm. Definitely recommend them

I bought a pair 2 summers ago and really liked that they were lightweight with grippy soles but not too stiff. When we decided to hike the John Muir Trail last summer, after some exploratory hikes in them, I decided they were my go-to boot for the 200+ mile hike. This is the first boot that I have not felt the need to size up from my normal 7.5m. Also, I didn't even replace the insoles, which I have always done. I only did about 20 miles of training in the new pair I bought for the through hike and they were awesome. I like that the upper is supportive but not too stiff. Same with the sole lots of rock walking can really hurt with stiffer soles. I didn't really immerse them in water much but didn't have any issue with water-proofing. Can't say my feet weren't sore at the end of the day - after 13-15 miles a day for 18 days that's pretty much a given. We saw quite a few people on the trail sporting these or the tenny version so we were in good company on the JMT.

I bought these last summer and wore them on a 9 day rocky backpacking trip in October with endless river crossings and indistinct trail that the guidebook rated as "strenuous". I really liked the ankle support and toe coverage while stream crossing and while hiking through brush. They held up well-- the bottom rubber/grip area looks hardly worn at all--and I will be wearing them for another backpack this month. No blisters or hot areas anywhere. No falls. Yes, the laces are annoying by coming loose, but I doubled/tripled the knot and they worked without an issue. When these puppies wear out, I'll buy another pair.

I live in Leadville CO and I wear this boot all year round. I bought another pair after I wore out my 1st pair. I logged about 15,000 miles on rugged terrain in the 1st pair and really should have replaced them sooner, but they are actually still in pretty good shape. They are still waterproof and I use them in snow, ice, negative temps and summer temps and they are awesome!! Best boot I've ever owned, and I've owned plenty.

They give me more support than my trail running shoes but are not too stiff. I can walk forever in them. I also love the way they look.

I got these a while back and have been using them for work, im a postwoman by the way. These are the first walking boots ive tried that are comfy and dont rub on my heel and hard wearing! I cant recommened enough, ive been walking in them 6 days a week since around Oct/Nov (today is 29th Jan) and the soles have hardly worn and they are still in shape and not rubbing (big problem for me with walking boots)
My only complaint is the laces, buy your own, these are useless. They are like a shiny material and i have to tie them up again around 5 times a day cause they just come loose. Oh and they are totally waterproof, trust me im a Postie :) lol

These are my first ever walking boots and after trying on so many pairs in my local Go Outdoors, I finally opted for these as they were the only boot that was remotely comfortable as I have Mortons neuroma in one foot. Very grippy on even terrain, havent had an issue with waterproofing either and I love how lightweight they are. To me they feel like they have all the benefits of a secure walking boot, whilst feeling light like a trainer. The only thing I would say is to size up!! I'm a size 5 in my normal footwear and a 5.5 in trainers, but I had to size up to a 6.5 in these if I wanted to wear my wool socks. Size 5.5 fit very snug when just wearing thin cotton socks.
