I bought these boots last fall, in preparation for a trek to EBC. They were fantastic for the entire 11 days of hiking, covering the entire 80+ miles there and back! Never had a hot spot or any discomfort. Looking forward to many more years of hiking in them!

Purchased about a month ago and out about 50 miles on so far. My main concern was ankle support when carrying a 30lb plus pack. It give me all the support I need. SUPER light weight and wonderfully comfortable.

I bought a pair of these boots in 2013, so its not exactly the same boot, changes have been made, presumably only imporvements, but I have litterally thousands of miles on these boots and I can tell you, they are great. They are 7 years old, and still perfectly waterproof, no rips or tears, no blown out soles, even the origional laces. At this point they could use new soles, but I have worn them on multiple, heavy duty backpacking trips, and countless camping trips, as well as turkey, deer, rabbit, quail, and dove hunting in them every year since 2013, and there still doing fine on the soles theyve got. I fully stand by the saloman brand, they have won a loyal customer with me, too bad they made them so good ill never have to buy another pair.

Warm, very light.
Love the lace locking across the instep.
I'm very happy with the performance.

Had these boots for years and they have never let me down.
Used for a variety of uses from walking the dog to hiking on a snow covered mountain. Always kept my feet dry and warm BECAUSE I LOOK AFTER THEM.
Clean your boots and re treat them and your feet will not get wet.

The fact that I rarely bother to write reviews for anything but things I hate shows how great these boots are. They have great cushioning and support and have taken me through many expeditions and long distances races even in mountains as demanding as the Himalayas. It is no joke that you see people in these boots everywhere and it is no wonder why. They are great quality and although they do get alarmingly tired looking quite quickly, once they have broken in, they look the same from there on out. I've had them for over a year and a half now, and they are still going strong!

I bought these for a bushwhacking trip in Alaska and they were perfect. Rigid enough to handle the rough terrain but lightweight and comfortable - unlike most mountaineering boots. The only issue is they aren't very crampon friendly. The heel is too wide. I was able to cram into them but I had to bend my crampons a little to make it work. The seam near the toe started to separate a little but I was seriously pushing the limits of these boots and my body. With weaker boots the trip would have been miserable. Now I mainly use them for disc golf. How versatile is that for a boot?!

I love Salomon shoes and boots. These are very compfortable at work where I am on my feet most of they or a long hike. They geel very stable on rought ground too. They run larger than the trail shoes (more like boots) so I will go down a half size when I get another pair.

I have been using the Quest 4D 3 GTX'x for over a year now, and have done over 1000 km hiking in them, in all kinds of terrain and weather.
They are out of the box very comfortable, highly waterproof, and do not need a lot of maintenance.
My previous boots were Lowa and Keen, which both had their very good points, but in my opinion the 4D 3GTX is a cut above.

My wife and I each bought a pair of these to hike up Kilimanjaro this winter, and these boots performed beyond expectations. It rained and/or snowed for 9 days straight, and these boots remained dry inside. Traction was excellent over the wet rocky terrain, and they were quite warm for the cold snowy summit night.
Absolutely now complaints whatsoever.

I have put over 600 miles on these boots so far. They are very comfortable boots although they do run about 1/2 size too small at least for me. I have hiked mostly in the Arizona desert with some hiking in Minnesota and California. I have hiked through streams in Northern California, and through trails with tall grass during the rainy season in Minnesota. The trails I hike in Arizona are rocky, sandy and at times gravel.
These boots are very well built and the soles have good gripping power over rocks and in gravel. I have found that the area in the front of the boot where the rubber is glued over the toe area is just starting to come loose, but something a little glue will fix. I would recommend these boots. I will be buying another pair when I need them.

This is my second pair. I love them so much I needed them in a different color. Great foot and ankle support. I have hiked 16+ miles at Glacier National and my feet felt good afterwards. I had wool socks and my feet stayed dry for the hike. I wear these around all the time, even when not hiking. They go well with jeans or pants. I can't recommend these more. Get these boots!

I've now got a couple of pairs of these. I use them for hunting, hiking, farm work and even out and about-ing. My first pair leaked merely walking through wet grass the first time I used them and I was very concerned.......first impressions and whatnot. However, after a very simple process with customer service, they replaced them and haven't had a leak since. Waking through rivers, wet grass, mud etc. Dry as a bone. Excellent grip on wet ground, rocks and logs. Ultra quiet and all surfaces. Laces are durable and if you understand that you need to tighten stiffer laces in direction of the knot, they stay tied just fine. They probably run somewhere in the neighborhood of 1/2 small. I wear a size 13 in most shoes and a 14 in a fair number of boots. A 14 in Salomon's is a comfortable fit except I can get a hair of movement in the heel. Not enough to create hot spots but enough to irritate me in the warmer months when only wearing a single sock. Prefect in the winter when I'm doubling up with a liner and heavy wool sock. A 13 in Salomon fits perfect but I have to be mindful of how tight I start the laces in the toe box or the larger of my two feet (my left foot......and yes, everyone has a larger foot) can get some rubbing on my outer toe after a few hours. This is where Salomon probably gets its rep for having a narrow toe box. I've noticed that most of these complaints come from people like me who have larger feet and thus no half sized options (something universal in the shoe industry). I have yet to try a wide size but I'm confident that a size 13W would be prefect for me as well. In any case, you can't go wrong with this boot. PSA........instead of writing a snarky review when you encounter an issue, try contacting customer support first. (all manufacturers will spit out a product with flaws from time to time. As long as its the exception and not the rule, it's to be expected and not an indication of a bad product).
