Quality is so so. my husband is in the service industry and walks a lot. These shoes didnt even last 4 months. They are already falling apart and leak. (he works around wet outdoor areas) We have purchased Keen waterproof shoes before and he gets about 7 months of wear from those. Cant anyone make a lightweight waterproof work shoe that looks like a fitness shoe?

It was ok at first, but after a few times wearing, I found my left one also has a squeek / popping sound too, it comes from the front part of the shoe, quite annoying, don't recommend. It should be a product defect.

The lacing system is poorly designed and will, not if, break. The fabric loops wear out and snap. My shoes lasted 6 months from regular wear, not even used for hiking. On the positive side, the design shape is very comfy and supportive.

unfortunately I have to agree with many of the other reviewer‘s in the fact that these shoes do not hold up as well as previous models/versions… They didn’t last year where as previous versions of this line lasted multiple years. Your money may be better spent elsewhere

I ordered a 14 medium. The shoe I received felt wider, especially in the heel. The toe was a little short. The shoe felt overly stiff, but I didn't try to break it in, just returned it.

On the plus side the shoes look and fit great. I wish I could have kept them. I would have gone through at least 1 pair per year. Before I bought them I saw several reviews on here about the plastic eyelets breaking easily, but I bought them anyway. I was very careful lacing up the first shoe, but an eyelet broke immediately. They're not a traditional metal or cloth eyelet. They're made of plastic or rubber of some kind and they break easily. I hope my experience is informative to others and I hope TNF finds a way to fix an otherwise awesome shoe. I returned my pair and I am still waiting to hear from someone or to receive a refund.

I love / hate these shoes. They're so close to perfect - they're snug and comfortable immediately, but come with a bunch of issues: 1. The eyelet for the laces are weak and break easily 2. The seam on the outside near the toe separates almost immediately (mine last pair lasted 4 miles :( before it happened). I fix it with super glue. 3. The toe box tears where the shoe flexes by my toes on both sides. I use these for hiking and the last pair I bought lasted about a month. That said, I'm buying another pair as we speak. They're the best I've found so far, but their longevity is poor and (listen well to this North Face) I'll switch my allegiance in a heart beat as soon as I find something as good that lasts longer.

very poor quality , the 109 was better than this shoe. lace strings break when tieing laces over all made of poorer quality materials certainly not worth the $$$ i have bought many shoes from north face . But this was the last pair for me . very expensive for the level of quality of shoe 30 day warranty . buyer beware these guys spend more $$ on marketing than quality and it shows

The look of the shoes is great but the fit is REALLY bad in terms of WIDTH. The 110 was NOT an upgrade from the 109. Much stiffer & DEFINITELY not good for folks with bunions or bunion-like protrusions. I’ve been using shoe stretchers to make them wider but they’re pretty resistant to change. I advise using a hair dryer in tandem with a stretcher to FORCE them into submission. I called Zappos about this issue & the fact that the 109 shoes were better built & seemed easier to adapt to a person’s foot shape & the rep told me that the 109 is coming out soon with a wider size than the D that is currently being sold. Supposedly arriving 2-3 weeks from today (8.9.18).

I bought these shoes last January 2018 before track season. I am a coach and wore these at meets. They were excellent in keeping the feet dry. I also hike in different terrains. After some time the mountains of west Texas, they began to split at the outside front of the shoe. They are comfortable but I wish they would last.

Wear five days per week walking job sites outdoors. Flaw #1: After only seven months, one of the very small fabric lacing loops broke. It's too small to stand up to the stress of the lace; if it were a metal ring and not fabric, it might work. I pay close attention to keeping the shoes clean to minimize the amount of dirt and grit out of the tongue and lace areas. Flaw #2: The waterproofing works about 70%. I'll get moisture infiltration after walking across a wet lawn. Fix these two issues and I'll buy another pair or two.

I just wear these to work. I am a painter so pretty mild abuse. Started falling apart in less than 3 months. It took a month to break in. I love everything North Face I have ever owned. These shoes are a dumpster fire.

Hiking shoes that do not last and the limited warranty is for only a year. The loop that the shoe lace goes through broke and you can no longer tie them. Northface doesn’t stand behind their product.

The shoes's stitching and uppers began to come apart after less than a week of gentle trail wear. To their credit, The North Face is exchanging them. Hopefully the new pair will have the kind of durability that one would expect from hiking boots!

Difficult to get lace's correct. The material used for the lace eyelets does not allow for easy lacing or unlacing.

Have worn Ultra's for many years and like them very much. The new pair of Ultra 110's had a new eye loop strap thing that made me wonder, but since I only saw a few bad reviews of them, I purchased anyway. A few months into wearing the Ultra 110's for normal use (walking and light hiking), and being careful not to pull up very hard when tying laces, one of the lace loop straps snapped. This wasn't very cool and had me a bit miffed, as I was being careful. I re-jigged the laces and continued on. About three weeks later, I had another strap snap, and then another, and another. I am careful with my shoes and was not yarding in the laces during lace up, but within a month, I had 4 snap on me. I will not be buying another pair of Ultra 110's as long as they remain so fragile.

Fit and Size were good. I really liked this shoe as I had a pair before and they were great. However, I've just recently had 2 brand new pairs through Zappos and both of them were very weak in the lace eyelets. Both of them developed broken eyelets when pulling shoestrings tight... Zappo's Customer service was great and I couldn't be more happy with their service, but North Face has gone the cheap chinese way.... shame..

The shoes fit and perform great, always have. When I first discovered this shoe in 2006 it was the Ultra 106. Now it's the 110, and the only thing that has changed is the build quality. They used to last me two years a pair and this most recent pair is already falling apart at the toe bend. 4 months is too soon for stitching to be coming apart and several fingers to be able to enter the side of my shoe. I have always loved these for their support, traction, and reliability, but think I will move on to another brand.

I tried 2 pairs and they both fsiled at the lace loops. Worts lace design in the industry and it should be obvious to them. Salomon has a great lacing system and that will be my next shoe. I loved the way these fit so its too bad they are a waste of money.
