The shoes were comfortable but were too large for me.

The reviews said runs large so I did size down a half. I wore them traveling all over France, walked in them comfortably right out of the box. I love the style so much I bought a second pair for later use.

I have only worn the shoe briefly to try it on, so these opinions may change over time. Here is my initial impression: the shoe was not immediately super comfortable. The leather is pretty stiff and cuts into my foot a little at the front of the shoe. The bed is springy, arch support is moderate (and seems "off" relative to my actual arch). Oddly, the left shoe seems slightly larger than the right, which is not normally a problem for me. I should say that I purchased my normal size 8 based on more recent reviews, and I think a half size down would be too small. I am hoping that the usual small amount of foot swelling during normal wear will take care of this. I do like the style and am mostly happy with the color - I purchased this in tan (blush) for mainly summer wear, although I am more drawn to the darker browns, especially mango and light tan. I do like it enough to keep it, though.

When it first arrived, the style was very much my taste. I liked the brown reddish leather, and the small woven design was pretty nice. Unfortunately the suggested size was 7 so I chose that size at first, but had to return it for a 6.5. For some reason, it wasn't too wide as I thought it would be. But after a whole day at work, it felt like it can hold up pretty well walking for a long time. I sure hope that the width of the shoe gets better and stretches over time.

This shoes fits true to size. It is very cute! I wanted to love it. But there was no arch support and the cushioning on the bottom collapsed under pressure which means it wouldn’t help protect my feet from all the walking I need to do daily.

Comfy, stylish and cute

I ordered Born Madeleine in the rose color, after trying a Frye shoe that was too short. Born usually fits. Styling of Madeleine is not particularly flattering to a narrower foot, must say. I am keeping the shoe because I like the color, and I'll probably get used to it. I think this particular style looks a little "clunky" because I could use a narrower size, that is not available. Very few narrow sizes are available in a variety of colors. I have to "make due" with shoes that do not fall off my feet, or slip at the heel--Madeleine barely meets the minimum requirements for me--the color is attractive, and for anyone who wears a true "B" width, the shoe will be fine.

This shoe was too long. My heels slipped out.

I wish the lining would be also leather instead of material. The product information states “Smooth and breathable leather linings” but the only leather inside the shoe is insole and the heel part. I ordered 1/2 size up from recommended size and the shoe fits perfect. The lining fabric or glue used has a very strong smell. Overall I do like this shoe but at this price I would have expected it to be 100% leather as stated and without strong odor from lining fabric.

Opinions are all over the place with the sizing of this shoe. I wear a true 8 and an 8 was much too big. But I'm so happy with the overall style and comfort of the shoe, I'm ordering a half size down to see if that works better.

The design and color of the red shoes are great. They are wider than any of my other Børn shoes, but ordering 1/2 size down made them much too small, so I stuck with my normal size. Hopefully they will hold up well without becoming wider.

Foot bed was comfortably padded, nice detail across the toes and no toe cleavage. Sadly have to return because it was too tight across the widest part of my foot. Just not comfortable. Otherwise, a good quality shoe with soft leather.

Believe the notes - these shoes do run large. I’m a US 9 / EU 40 even in other Born styles but had to return these for a US 8.5. Amazingly comfortable once you get the right size! As always, Zappos customer service was excellent.

This shoe looks good on my wide-ish feet. I could probably have sized up by half, but was afraid my heel would come out when I walked. I tried my shoe stretchers instead, and I think that was just right. Love the way these look, the purple is neutral enough to go with pretty much everything I wear. Dressy enough for work but comfortable enough to walk some miles in. The born Tami was my favorite, but this is much better made, so I am open to letting these be my new favorite.

I love this shoes. The quality are better than I expected. I was expecting they were made in China but not, they are made in Mexico. Mexico make good product and the size is closer to US size. I will return it for 8 1/2.

Very nice, comfortable shoe. Simple with a touch of style in the braid. The description of the color as red/brown seems off to me. I don't see any hint of red. Just brown to my eye. But, all in all, very satisfied with the purchase.

They do run slightly large, but one these were broken in they are pretty comfortable.

Very comfortable. The brown is a very natural leather sort of tan. Runs at least a half size large.

I love Born sandals. I buy them often and they are a perfect fit, amazingly comfortable, and last for years. The flats however, have not wowed me. I feel like the toe box is a little narrow for me and rubs the top outside of my big toe. What is most frustrating is that the lining on the inside is pulling up and bunches under my toes. I've only worn them twice. This makes me crazy. They are comfortable on my arch and my feet don't ache at the end of a long day of teaching. I won't buy another pair though. For the money spent, I don't expect the lining to pull up.

Love all things Born usually, but this particular one has a cramped toe box which really bothers me! Otherwise, I probably would’ve kept it. Everything else about it was comfy except that feature...

These are cute shoes and would be easy to dress up or down. My usual 9 feels a little small, so a 9.5 might be worth trying, but the arch hits at a weird place on my foot, so I’m returning these.

Comfort wasn't the issue but durability was. I bought these in June, and by mid-August the decorative thread on the front had become detached. I couldn't have worn these shoes more than 10 times, and it was always in an office environment... so that was a bummer. On the plus side, Zappos chat was great and they were able to replace the defective pair. I think that if Born wants to charge $90 for a leather flat, they should take a closer look at the craftsmanship of this shoe. It's pretty expensive for a flat and I expected these to last longer than 8 weeks.

I usually wear a 10.5 M and the 10 was definately too small in length. I returned them and will consider ordering an 11. They are nice looking but I was hoping they would run a bit large for size.

This shoe was disappointing. I usually love Born shoes and was looking to replace an older pair of Born black flats. I typically wear 7-7.5 and once in a great while a size 8. I ordered a 7 in these based on prior Born purchases and they were both too long and too wide. Also the style was just "ok". I wish Born had more options with even a little more arch support. These shoes were not for me.

Cute shoes and I almost kept them but the toe box is a little too small. If I exchanged for half size up, they’d slip in the heel so they’re going back.
