I have difficulty finding a sneaker to fit my son's extra wide foot, even with some extra wide shoes. New Balance is one of the only companies I have found that make a true extra wide sneaker. This sneaker was perfect and comfortable for my son.

Great shoe.... A little wide even though we ordered regular. Material is supportive and shoe is of good quality!

My son loves these shoes!! Difficult to find Velcro enclosures past size 3. He has to change everyday for gym, so this makes changing much faster.

Bought these for my 5 year old grandson and he loves them! The Velcro fastener makes putting them on in the morning fast and easy.

My 10 yr old still doesn't want to hassle with shoe laces, so this velcro style is perfect. Also, he needs a wide width, so New Balance is our 'go-to' brand. These shoes fit great!

This is the second pair of these shoes my grandson has had. They wear really well. I highly recommend these.

We ordered 3 New Balances shoes in 13.5W and this was my son's favorite. He has a wide foot, but it is mainly in the height of his foot. This shoe was the easiest of the 3 to get on by far and he liked it immediately. He didn't complain of tightness or rubbing (both comments about the other 2 shoes), so for us it was a winner. Style wise it is nice, but there are better shoes in New Balance's line up. Overall still a nice shoe based on our initial impressions. If you child has a wide or tall/wide foot, this could be a good option for you. As for the laces being too loose, we didn't really notice that on ours. But our son has a tall foot, so maybe that's why?

8 year old with extra wide feet loves the New Balance shoe! From first day-only positive comments about the comfortable fit to the style. No more complaints about shoes fitting too tightly, feet hurting, untied shoe laces... Excellent quality!

My 9 y/o grandson (size 6 W) loves them! No problem with the laces, loves how they fit, has worn them to camp every day for the past week with no problems, no complaints.

My son loves these shoes. He says they make him run super fast. They appear to be made well and hopefully should last longer than a couple of months.

I can never find shoes for my son in a store. With the exception of Vans and even then it's only a certain style. He has an extra wide foot and I just never have success shopping in store. He wanted tennis shoes without laces so I didn't go for the Vans this time. I have even failed online a few times so I was a little hesitant. Out of desperation I decided to try again. I'm so glad that I found Zappos.com. His shoes are a perfect fit and he loves them.

My twin toddlers kept taking off their old sneakers, I think because they were too narrow. I got these in the wide and my boys seem much more comfortable. The “tie” part does not provide much support in closing the shoe, as others have said, but I don’t find that to be a problem - the Velcro part does that just fine.

These were a replacement shoe from another style of new balance kids. These are AMAZING! Light weight and my kids love them.

Only she I will buy for my toddler! Perfect because the closure is easy to get on and off, and the Velcro actually lasts! (Going on a year now.) Also he need the extra wide width, which is hard to find. This is the only wife she that actually goes over his arch until he grows out of them! He’s so rough on them, but they are lasting a year now! He uses them to “brake” on his balance bike, treege throigh snow, and run on slippery surfaces. Seriously a tough shoe!!

My son loves these. They are flashy enough for him to feel like they are "cool" and has the things mom likes, breathable fabric, lightweight and arch support.

My son wears custom insoles in his shoes so he needs a supportive sneaker with enough room for the bulky insole, but something that still looks cool enough for a hard to please 5 year old. He has been wearing New Balance for about a year and a half now, and they have been great. These particular sneakers are a great fit for the insole, and leave enough room so his foot fits comfortably. He says they are really comfortable, which is a plus! I do agree with the other reviewer who commented on the laces being loose. For my son, it isn't an issue, but I could see how it would be a problem for a kid who doesn't have the support of the insole. New Balance needs to fix the laces on these.
