I'm having the boots stretched here at the toe area as it is way too tight. I bought it locally and when it was too tight, ordered the half size larger online, but still too tight, so returned. Tried to find a "broader/wider" version online as that's an option, but they are all sold out in most styles and this style in every color. So my question is this--"Why doesn't Timberland just make the broader/wider toe size instead of the narrow one which seems to be much lower in sales?" I'd recommend to a friend if the broader/wider version was available.

I walked around the block in these right out of the box. My first impression was good, but they got worse and worse as the walk went on. The left boot was comfortable. The right boot creased to a point that stabbed my pinky toe with every step. Very different crease pattern between the boots! Not only that, I felt no arch support on my moderately high arches. The size was correct for me. It was what I expected. I could add an insole with arch support. But I cannot fix the painful crease!

Giving low rating for the sizing, they definitely run small, for reference I have narrow but long feet, in normal shoes I'm a size 9.5, went with a size 10 for hiking boots but they were just a tiny bit too short at the toe but fit perfectly everywhere else, unfortunately they don't have a size 10.5 even though all the other sizes come in half sizes. I got the size 11 and they work fine for me but they are slightly too big, I think I would be more comfortable in a 10.5.

I purchased this shoes few days ago, it is so narrow. I normally wear medium and this is the 2nd time I found out a medium can be so narrow. The shoes are made in Vietnam. By the way, I have noticed that shoes made in Vietnam are narrow because I have tried one pair in store before was narrow too. The brand was either Reebock or Nike. Other than the narrow, the shoes are pretty comfortable. I plan to return the medium and purchase wide.

Given the great reviews, I was hoping to like these. I'm an 8.5 and the 8.5 in these was the appropriate length. However, they felt uncomfortably narrow - even for my narrow feet, and slightly too tight in the toebox. The footbed was stiff and unsupportive. The tread had good grip, however I found the sole too thick - making me feel like I was in platforms and liable to twist an ankle while hiking. I do like their aesthetic, but they won't function for me so I'm sending them back. My usual footwear is Birkenstocks, Dr. Martens, and Kuru shoes, so I'm used to extremely comfortable footwear that provides ample support to prevent against plantar fasciitis. Time to shop for new Kurus (Zappos please carry these!).

Length was fine but the area in the widest part of the foot (ball of foot) felt like it was being squeezed. The grey ones are pretty though so Im bummed I have to return.

I have average to narrow feet, but I felt these were only just wide enough and a half size to small if worn with athletic or hiking socks.

I absolutely love this boot's style; I think they look better than just about any other hiking boot I've seen. However, I was forced to return them because the toe was way too narrow, and I don't even have particularly wide feet. I have never had to purchase a wide before. I was further disappointed to see the burgundy color did not come in a wide.

These could be really nice hiking boots...although the ones I received had totally been worn by someone before. They were also absolutely a full half size too small and the other reviews are completely right, they are too narrow...not nearly as narrow as the Northwood though! My husband recently bought the men's version of this boot. I tried his on and they are a normal width, even a little roomy! They fit really nicely and are very comfortable...he also did not find them narrow like the men's reviews say they are. He says he could hike for days. While the men's ones seem to be more expensive, and of course they don't have as nice color options, they might be a solution for anyone else with the same width issue.

It seemed to fit my narrow foot ok but when I bent my foot it pushed down on top of my left big toe. Sending back.

I was charged shipping even though company advised free shipping and returns. I'm out the shipping since I had to return due to the size being too small. Narrow to be specific.

The boots look great and well made but they are extremely narrow and the toe area is also too flat, putting pressure on your toes and balls of feet from the top of the shoe. My old hiking boots are Timberlands size 8. They felt just a tad short in length and are getting old so I bought these in a 9 thinking that should be plenty big enough. My toes/balls of feet felt numb and squished right away. I do have slightly wide feet but wasn't concerned as my old Timberlands are an 8M and the width was just fine. If you have very narrow and flat feet then they might work for you. I have somewhat high arches as well and these just won't work. Unfortunately I'll have to return them.

Wanted to like them because I have been happy with Timberlands in the past. At least 1/2 size too small and going up a size wouldn’t help the width issue. Outer material looked almost dressy in style. It wasn’t what I wanted and I question it would hold up in winter conditions.

These adorable hiking boots didn't work for me. They run small and although they seemed barely long enough, the toebox isn't tall enough. My toes were hitting the top of the boot. It wasn't uncomfortable just walking around, but if I did serious hiking in them, I'd bruise and then lose a toenail for sure. The Timberland insole has zero arch support, so I usually swap them out for Ariat ATS insoles, but in these boots that wasn't possible -- there wasn't room for a slightly thicker insole. I really liked the look of the boot and it had excellent traction, so I'm debating trying a size up from my normal Timberland size. Or I may try the men's version. I really wish these fit, as they're much more stylish than your average hiking boot. While that's not important to me for actual hiking, I'd like to be able to wear them around the city, as I walk so much that I'm constantly wearing through the soles of fashion boots. If these were as comfortable as they were cute, they'd be a keeper, but alas, they're just not.

I really wanted this boot to work but the toe box was very narrow (and I always wear a medium width shoe) that it felt painful after wearing them for more than a few minutes.

The shoe was quite narrow, as other reviewers have stated. My feet are very average in width, so I was surprised. The whole shoe was much more stiff than I was looking for.

Lots of reviews suggest this shoe only for narrow feet and I agree. I have a pretty narrow foot and this shoe still feels snug in width. Overall a good hiking shoe for the price.

My daughter was so disappointed that these didn't fit, but they were too narrow for her feet, which tend towards narrow. They are very stylish in the rust nubuck with red laces. Length was perfect, so sizing up wasn't an option.

I like this hiking shoe. On first try on I notice the instep is too tight on the top of my foot. I thought of trading it for a wider width but it doesn't exist. I'll hold onto it a few days and walk around inside to see if I still feel that way at the end of the week.

Didn't wear them very long. My big toe could feel the tip of the shoe, so off they came!

I've been on the hunt for the 'perfect' walking boot - for hiking in not too rough of terrain, not mountain climbing. I need good arch support to combat both plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia (opposite feet). Also need plenty of room in the toe box. While these boots are quite attractive for their type, the toe box was too narrow and caused my feet to feel numb. The ankle was also too stiff for my comfort, and the footbed is very stiff too. Was not a good fit for me. I had high hopes, as my most favorite pair of hiking boots more than 15 yrs ago were Timberland. Since they finally wore out while hiking in Peru, I have not been able to find a replacement pair as comfortable as they were. Finally did! but not these. Had to return them.
