4 stars overall - for someone else's foot! I loved the look of these hiking boots! I SO wanted to keep them, but I had to send them back. One boot felt great, but the other one rubbed my ankle at the bone. I wore them around my house for about 15 minutes, and my toe fell asleep in that foot. Boo! Such pretty leather. Nice style! Wore with all season wool hiking boot socks.

These are cute boots and I love Timberland products, but this is the first pair of their boots that I thought felt smaller in length and width than marked. This was the only reason I gave "comfort" 3 stars instead of 5.

These fit - but are a tad narrow. I'm hopeful they'll stretch a bit and be perfect after wearing a few weeks.

I have narrow feet, and tried these since the reviews said they ran narrow. They were really comfortable, right out of the box, and going up a half size was just right for a thick pair of hiking socks. The only thing I don't like is the gusset near the opening, which forces me to put my foot in at a steep angle (a shoe horn helps). But once on, these are great. I wanted a hiking shoe that I could use on snowy city sidewalks, and these fit the bill -- good tread, waterproof-enough, and not fugly.

Darker than what I had hoped for. Plus it seemed to run small I ordered a half size larger and still seemed tight.

These boots are just about perfect. They are very comfortable right out of the box and I can hike for miles in them. They seem pretty well made and go through mud and wet without my feet getting soaked.

I always wear 7-7.5 so I ordered 7.5 thinking it'd be good with hiking socks, but the shoes were too tight. I had to return them and it's a shame because the purple color with dark brown was AMAZING. I had to buy the blue ones which are ok color wise... (rip purple). I still stuck with Timberland bc I've had an amazing experience with them before.

The appearance, the weight, and the workmanship are all good.
For me - highly subjective - the length was good, and the width was good in the heel and toe, but slightly narrow in the widest spot - the metatarsal area. I prefer to wear mid-weight socks, so I think it will work for me. With thick socks, it would be too narrow.

This is a great hiking boot but it was my fault for purchasing a boot in my actual size. Once I read about how to purchase hiking boots, I should’ve gone a half size up since hiking socks tend to be thicker and feet expand. I will probably purchase again in a larger size once I feel I have worn these out a bit more. I’d feel too guilty for buying another pair when I have a perfectly good pair on hand even though they aren’t truly comfortable when hiking.

I wish these boots would have worked out. They are stylish and with a very thin sock, comfortable. Once I put on a thicker sock, the toe box was too tight and my baby toe was falling asleep. therefore I had to return the pair. A little wider width and I would be living in these boots.

Much to wide,, especially in heel, walked right out of non affected arthritic foot. Nice look, I hoped, for spring and summer.

I had read in reviews that these shoes were very narrow, but still thought they would fit. I was wrong; these shoes, while very cute, are very narrow. I don't even feel that I have wide feet, and only rarely do I find that I need wide fit shoes.

Based on other reviews, I ordered a half size up. Even so, the boot was just too narrow (and I don't typically have wide feet). I ordered a full size up, and it was still too narrow with the heavier socks I had intended to wear. I ended up buying a compression sock, and the boot felt fine with that. I imagine a thinner sock would work as well, but I decided I could probably use the compression on a long hike anyway and I don't intend to march around in the snow.

I work in a plant nursery and need shoes that are waterproof and comfortable for being on my feet most of the day. I like the look of these, and they feel durable, but unfortunately the wide width feels way too tight like a narrower shoe. I should have read the reviews more closely. I actually double-checked the box to make sure I had received the right size. I'm a 7W and haven't had an issue with other wide shoes fitting tight in the width like this. I would recommend for narrower feet, but if you're a regular width, you may want to consider ordering a wide.

Although the length is right with these (maybe even slightly too long), the width is painfully small. I'm usually a very comfortable size seven for timberlands but the box was literally making my toes goes numb. Aside from that, the cushioning in the sole was extremely comfortable and the shoes themselves were shockingly light with surprisingly good traction. I will say though that the rubber toe guard seems a bit too small for a hiking boot since the leather will probably take a pretty hard beating.
In conclusion, I did have to return these because my toes just didn't have enough room. However, I'll be exchanging them for the Chocoruas (the $150 style, RIP to my wallet) in the wide size. I know it's a lot of money but I really love the brand and I know from experience that the shoes will last for years so it's kind of like a long-term investment.

Even though I ordered a wide width, these are too narrow, my toes were going numb. I love them, but they have to go back. I would recommend if you have super narrow feet.

A well-built hiking boot by a reliable company. I plan on purchasing from Timberland again.
The color "brown" that I ordered appeared lighter, more golden, in the online photos than the color I received and the invoice said "toasted coconut". I will try another color and appropriate size.

Felt pretty comfortable, but the suede-like material seems like it would scuff immediately and I worry that it would be hard to clean after a muddy hike.
