The sizing is as expected, without a sloppy fit in the heel or mid foot. The toe room is very good. For a shoe with minimal cushion, it's really very comfortable.

These are great for moderate trail hiking or walking outdoors with moderate terrain. Would not recommend for more extreme conditions.

They are very comfortable, but a little tricky to put on.

So, I had been wondering if I should buy a new pair of hiking boots or a pair of trail runners for some summertime backpacking. I absolutely loved the ease of these shoes for camping, easy to take off and put back on. I didn't slip even once on any of the rocks or gravel on the trail. My feet were a very comfortable temperature the whole time. I was able to wear a couple pairs of socks (liners and wools) to keep my feet protected. I knocked one star off for a hole which appeared in both shoes right next to my big toe, behind the protective shell. I'm not sure if this was from the type of terrain I was on or a defect in the shoe. Also this wasn't the shoe, but my feet and ankles were incredibly sore after hiking 12 miles on rocky, uneven terrain all day. The shoes did manage to keep me from seriously injuring my foot on any of the rocks, but after so much time, there isn't enough cushion or support. The shoes have great traction for running, but because you can't really cinch the laces super tight, your foot tends to move inside the shoe a bit. I think I might swap out the cinch for actual laces.

I'm transitioning over to a mimimal walking/ running shoe and this shoe is definitely a good choice. The 4 way stretch provides so much comfort and my feet are loving the new shoes. Extra plus is they are easy to put on quickly, especially when you are on the go!

Cute, light weight and comfortable but too big. I love the roomy toe box, but my heel slipped too much, with and without socks. I do have a narrow heel. Will try a half size smaller when it is back in stock.

I've had my current Merrells for 4 - yes 4! - years, and I live in them. Alas, time and styles march on. This is a nice lightweight shoe that feels like a sock, but it allowed my foot to wobble too much. (I also tried the Bare Access Flex eMesh but found that one too stiff). Also, wasn't sure the lacing anchor system for this one would hold up over time. The styling is very nice, though.

I run about 50km a week, and have had these shoes for 2 weeks. The most critical feature for me is that shoes can't have a stiff counter (piece on the back of the heel), which eliminates a lot of possible running shoes. Given that, these shoes seemed perfect - a sock like fit should give no heel irritation, right? Well, almost. I can't get them laced very tightly. If I try to, the knit bunches up and I can feel each lace dig into the top of my foot because they are so thin and wire-like. Therefore, when I run (or walk) I can feel that back of the shoe slipping up and down on my heel ... Which doesn't cause any irritation because it's so smooth, but is still a little distracting. This would not happen if the bottom of the shoe were a little thinner or more flexible or if I had higher arches so that my feet filled the middle of the shoe more tightly. On the plus side, the tread on the bottom of these shoes is very good/thick. I own the Merrell Trail Glove 4 (the non-knit) version as well, and think these shoes are about equally good for running in, but the knit version is more comfortable for walking. I am still waiting/hoping for a shoe that is as good the Merrell Pace Glove 2 was. These aren't it, but they will have to do for now.

I've been wearing the Bear Access series for years now, but I always just slip them on and off, and hated messing with the ties. Decided to give these a try and I'm so glad I did! The toe box on these is nice and wide (my right foot is wider than my left, and these accommodated both feet nicely). They are very comfy, fit like a glove, but do not pinch. I am very happy with my purchase! *Would rate 5 stars, but it would not let me for some reason.

I wanted to compare this Trail Glove to Vapor Glove, my traditional favorite. This trail version has a thicker sole and no laces. It's stretchy but very hard for me to put on. Like the new Vapor, there is no rear tab to make it easier to pull on. The inside roof of the toe box is better because it is nice and smooth. The Vapor has a swatch of material that sticks out. But for my foot, the heavier sole means that the top of my foot hurts when I bend my foot. In summary for this Trail glove, if you like the look, are ok with a regular sole, and love slip ons you will probably like it! I am returning.

My mom calls me “duck-foot” because of my narrow heel and wide forefoot, and Merrells are usually great for my weird feet. These had a vast toe box, though, more suitable for hiking through than hiking in...even if you’re a duck. Glad Zappos makes returns so easy!

I ordered a half size smaller than my usual 11 and the length and width were fine. Unfortunately, there was slippage in the heel. The "barefoot" sole takes a little getting used to, but I have some other Merrells with the feature and knew what to expect. That said, this is the kind of shoe that you should put on and forget about, but due to aforesaid heel slippage, that was impossible. They look nice, but I am returning them.

I really liked these shoes.. The look and the comfortable foot bed. However, they seem to run slightly long and wide, and they are not as adjustable as they look.

I have these shoes purchased from a high end store, fitted to my feet. The best shoes I've ever wore! These were too small or narrow. I sent back with label provided. I have not heard anything yet! These are expensive. To just disappear.

Maybe they would work better for someone who isn't used to wearing the trail gloves. Me and my wife found these to fit a bit larger, but tighter around the ankles. The sensation of walking in them is a bit bizzare as it feels like walking with air filled plastic bags around your feet while traversing shallow water.

I have these and love them, but there are acouple of problems. 1. They get dirty and they can't be washed. 2. The plastic webbing is cutting into the bungee laces. Maybe it's just my pair are defective, but it's disappointing for something so very costly.

These Merrells are so attractive in the picture and on, so I really wanted these to work. Unfortunately, my feet are used to very minimalist shoes and the arch on these felt weird as soon as I put them on. I even walked around the house for a bit to see if it just took some getting-used too and my arches and knees started to ache a bit. This shoe would be great if you need more support but did not work for me. Definitely not really a "barefoot" feel like the vapor gloves.

I wanted these to work so badly. I've been looking for a zero drop, low profile trail runner that had less break in time; I tend to get very bad blisters for the first 20-30 miles of basically any shoe I try. The only exception from that would be the Nike Flyknits I have. So when I saw that Merrell made a trail runner with the same type of upper material, I had to try them. They fit perfectly everywhere except the toe box which is enormous feeling. I could immediately I would get bad blisters from how much room the entire front of my foot had. I tend to have a narrower foot but usually can fit medium width just fine; I wish they made a narrow fit for these that had a better accommodating toe box.

I really wanted to like these. In fact, I loved them right out of the box. However, after wearing them for a little while around the house, my heel started hurting. I seem to not have the feet for minimalist shoes, or shoes that are lower in the heel. I loved the color and the shoe is lightweight. There is plenty of room in the toe box.

While I typically like a larger toe box, these looked a little clown like once I put them on. I also didnt care for the fit in the heel...felt loose. Otherwise, they were comfortable and lightweight...but will be going back.

These shoes are very comfortable and feel like they have great support. However, they are too wide in the toe box. Normally I love Merrells for just this reason, but these shoes are teetering on clownish. Sad to send them back, but just can't live with that.

Slid on my head and the toe is to stiff. I have many Merrell shoes I love but didn't like this one. Easy return.

Liked the slightly stretchy fabric. Also like the arch support, although it could use a bit more. What spoiled this shoe for me was the hard plastic toe cover. Make it of a softer material, or leave it off. It's very uncomfortable!
