I agree with some of the other ratings that talk about the uncomfortable arch support. I live in hilly San Francisco and I hike a lot so I spend a lot of time walking up and down hills or hiking in the mountains, and I usually opt for my running shoes instead of wearing these uncomfortable hiking shoes. They make my feet sore after wearing them for more them an hour. Maybe I have a lower foot arch than others, but it feels like the arch is too high and too far forward. The sole arch doesn't align with my foot arch at all. Honestly it feels like there's a strange bump under the ball of my foot every time I make a step. I really wish they were comfortable because I love the lightness and the colors, but they just don't work well for me.

This was the most uncomfortable shoe I've tried on. It felt as though there was a lump (other than the arch) in the shoe underneath my heel. Wearing the shoes also resulted in an unnatural gait so I returned them.

Not enough arch support for my feet. Left side of left shoe rubbed on my ankle. Good looking shoe fit great out of the box, just not when wearing them.

I returned the shoes on June 1, 2018. They were not what I expected.

I have been wearing Merrell hiking shoes for over 30 years and this is the first of their shoes I have been disappointed in. Although it fits fine the tread on the sole is awful! What happened to the Vibram sole that was always so awesome on your trail shoes? I slipped and fell while hiking the other day because the tread on this shoe is so bad. Really disappointed that Merrell would compromise the quality of their shoes!

I've been wearing Merrells exclusively for over a dozen years. I've always been an 8 1/2 in your shoes, my true size. I received the MQM Flex and tried them on. They felt good. Into my first hike, I realized they are too small. I called Merrell and was told, I should have worn them around my house. There was nothing to be done. Ok. I accept that. I do wonder though, what is Merrell's responsibility? An 8 1/2 should be an 8 1/2, shouldn't it? Is this a quality control issue? I think yes.

I bought 2 pair of Merrell shoes and both were at least a size larger than expected. Very disappointing. Had to return.

Trail running in these shoes I recently purchased and developed a blister on the inside of my foot on the instep. It appears as though the insole was cut too small and foot is rubbing on the side of shoe. Very disappointed as I live hours from point of purchase so no possibility to return them.
