After buying a different Altra shoe with more athletic styling, I wanted a less athletic-looking leather shoe with the same foot shape, and Cayd is it. I don't feel the pain I usually experience with tapered or even straight toes. The amount of padding is just right. I can walk as fast in these shoes as my bad knees allow. I am a woman with wide feet, and I usually buy men's shoes for casual wear. A C-width women's shoe might fit a little better, but these shoes feel really good, and I can wear them with pants for any but formal occasions. The leather does not seem to get scuffed. Smooth leather on the top of the front of the shoe would be easier to wipe clean.

The odd thing about this shoe is that the Tough or the flap between the foot and the laces is a bit long. When you tie the shoe tight the tough digs into your leg. Just don't tie it to tight.
