Lightweight and comfortable. I'm a solid 12.5 in Allen Edmonds and New Balance - a 12.5 in the Altra Cayd is a good fit. My Greek toe feels like it is reaching the end of the shoe but its just touching and not uncomfortable to me. These are casual but they don't give off an athletic vibe at all. Roomy toe box provides ample room for air circulation around the toes - room for my toes to spread out. I feel very stable in these shoes - they might be good for those with some stability issues. The long lace path and wide eyelet distance (something over a full inch) allows for a lot of fit control by lacing them up and letting your foot work out where distance should be closer or farther.

brown shoes are fine..i prefer the black/black..bummer black/black shoes 15 is not available...if they were definitely be 5 stars!

I like the look. The brown is a very dark brown (which I like). While the toe box is wide it's vertical dimension is narrow and I felt there was too little wiggle room in the toes vertically, the mid-foot also seemed a little tight.

My son, for whom I bought these, loved his other Altra footwear, but found these uncomfortable.

These shoes were very comfortable. I wish I loved them, but I just can't get into the style. They'd be great for a retail or food service worker who is on their feet all day. But really not very attractive.

I really wanted to like this shoe, but they are narrower than my other Altras. For comparison, my Cayds were size 10.5 versus my Lone Peak 4 size 11. In normal shoes I wear size 10. The Cayds are a nice style and the insole felt comfortable, but they are not as wide as my Lone Peaks to the point of major discomfort. I was hoping Altra would follow through on wide casual shoes, but they didn't with the Cayd.

These are slightly more narrow in the toebox compared to the typical Altra but it is still wider than typical shoes. Looks are subjective but I think it is a good looking shoe. The main problem I have with this shoe is the heel part of the shoe really digs into your Achilles. The leather may soften up over time and won't be as painful. However, I'm not willing to hand over my money just to test that. Looks like I am still on the hunt for an all black, zero-drop, casual shoe.

I liked the look and style of the shoe. The size was even true but they were so uncomfortable. Literally tied to walk in them and they felt bad on my feet. Just my experience. I love Altra running shoes but these are not for me.
