It's a great looking shoe but the fit was tight. I brought the 996 and they fit perfect. So I very disappointed with the fit of these. I returned for a size larger. Still waiting for them to arrive.

I wear these for all my work outdoors which involves a sandy gritty soil and dry environment. Only time will tell. After they have gone through at least 6 months I can change my rating to higher than middle. These shoes fit correct for size, are a little stiff and the soles catch all the stickers I walk through. But so far are comfortable in the heat and uneven ground.

This is a nice shoe, but I ordered the Overcast and I was expecting the logo, laces, and top leather portions to be gray as depicted in the photo but they are bright white. I probably would not have purchased these shoes had I known. I am usually a size 8 but for a better fit I would go up to a size 8.5.

I have been wearing a pair of New Balance 373's every day for the past three years. I wear them absolutely everywhere; I've gone hiking, swimming, running, tree-climbing, rock climbing, and all sorts of things the shoes aren't even meant for in these shoes! They're the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn and I swore I would never buy another brand again. The treads finally got so worn down that I decided to buy another pair. When I came online, I found out that the 373 series had been discontinued. Multiple sources told me that the 574 series was released to replace it. I Googled the differences between these styles and was led to believe that the only substantial difference was the sole - the 574's are chunkier and have some plastic thing, but I was ok with that. When they came in the mail, I tried them on and before I even had the chance to look and see if I liked them, I immediately noticed a bad difference. Even though I had ordered the exact same size I had for my 373's, these didn't fit quite right and were tight in different places. Had I tried on this pair of shoes in a store, I would have taken them off and walked away based on fit alone. However, I put both shoes on and walked around, looking at them to see if they at least looked cute. If this is your style, that is totally fine, but I did not like them! While the 373 has a slightly tapered toe, the 574 is very very rounded and almost boxy, they reminded me of the Mary Jane style kid's shoes I used to wear to church as a toddler. This is long, so I apologize for that. There is a chance other people will love this shoe so I don't want to dissuade shoppers based on anything other than this: IF YOU ARE TRYING TO REPLACE YOUR 373 SERIES SNEAKERS, DO NOT BUY 574!

These are a replacement for a prior pair. They run small. If my original pair felt like this I would have gotten them a half size larger.

These shoes are quite comfortable. Bought them to travel in. Can wear these all day if I get the tongue of the shoe flattened. Every time I put these on the edges of the tongue fold under. If I dont notice it right away it causes uncomfortable pressure on the top of foot. Laying the tongue flat isn't always easy. Sometimes I have to take shoe off and wedge fingers on sides of tongue then try to slide shoe on. When I get it right, these shoes are great.

just a little too big, love the black except that they get dirty real quick!

The first pair of 574 were great. However, this pair is not. The top area of the tongue is very uncomfortable. It is improperly sewn to the inside of the top of the shoe.

My favorite shoe was the 442. I loved the thin sole. If I had known it was being discontinued, I would have purchased 10 pair to last me the rest of my life. I always bought 2 at a time. So my new 574 is no comparison. It's not bad for a regular sneaker, but I'm not really a fan of anything other than my 442's. If you another shoe with a thin sole, I'll try it.

They are a great looking shoe, I ordered size 9 wide, I had trouble getting my foot into the shoe these were not a wide shoe.

The shoes are nice looking but are not very supportive.

I love the style of this shoe, it's a classic and NB is so comfortable! However, I have found the sizing to be irregular and inconsistant, both within New Balance as a brand and compared to other brands. I am usually a 7.5-8, an 8.5 in Nike with comfortable room for my toes and an 8.5 in other NB shoe styles I have tried on. I ordered an 8.5 in these and they were way too small! I have never been above an 8.5 in any other shoe, and receiving these in the mail was such a disappointment. While I had purchased them on sale originally, I would not be able to get the same deal with my exchange, as the exchange feature for New Balance consists of returning and then just rebuying the shoe as a separate transaction, which means the sale price will not be honored. Pretty upsetting overall!

I would not recommend this shoe. Your old line of shoes were comfortable this shoe is just attractive.
