These shoes were great at first. I used to use the gel-kayano, but found that my feet supenate and so the outside edges were always worn down. Well, I should have stuck with what I had. These Gel Nimbus hurt my feet. I never have had foot problems before and now I have a dull pain at the ball of my foot. I had to buy inserts for the shoes just to add some cushion. Safe to say, I won't be buying this model again.

Again, Asics shoes are running too small. I've ready many others state the same thing and now I believe the other reviews.

Alas. I'm searching for a replacement for a pair of Gel Kinsei 6 I've been hanging on to. This is not it. The height of the toe box is much shorter... My toe is right up against the fabric and I can just imagine the bruised toenail feeling:( And the search continues...

I loved the Nimbus 18! 19 worked but 18 was the best. I read reviews that 20 was better than 19 but I did not get the arch support and overall cushion support I need for my back. These are going back, unfortunately.

I just threw away 160 bucks! I am so unhappy I could cry! These are NOT true to size! I wear a size 9 so I ordered a size 9. My toes got so squished in these shoes I had to take them off after ten minutes because of the pain! Of course I had already scuffed the soles so I couldn't return them. What a waste!

I've been buying Asics Gel Nimbus for several years. I always buy the latest model. Even when the reviews weren't great, I still bought and was happy. But not with this pair. It's just simply not as comfortable as past models. I don't have that "walking on clouds" feeling even with inserts due to planters fasciitis. And, as others have mentioned, the toe bed is not comfortable. So sad. I guess I will hold out hope for next year's shoe or move on to another brand.

I was wearing the Nimbus 19 for HIIT training, Insanity and boot camp classes. It was recommended by an ASICS associate that I go up 1/2 size on the 19s. I was very happy with them. After wearing them out, I decided to go with the newer version., I was particularly happy they had an all black version. Unfortunately there is less lateral support in the 20s and my feet were cramping from the lessened support versus the 19s. They will become my running shoes, bought a new pair of Nikes. I wish ASICS would stop changing their designs every year.

Always bought an 8D but this time, the right one is too small, hitting my big toe on the top of the shoe. I did not find out until I went out walking in them. So, they are used now and of no use to return.

I've worn this shoe for years and loved it! The cushion in the Nimbus 20 has changed dramatically that it has me looking at other shoe brands. If you like cushion stick with the Nimbus 19 or older. The other version of this shoe is a great fit and has always provided good comfort for long distances.

I love my ASICS. I've been running in my pair of Nimbus 18 for way to long. Needed to re-up. It seems like these are shorter and have a bunch more cushion around the heel, which pushed my toes up in the shoe. I'm making them work, but definitely not as good.

The ASICS GEL-Nimbus 20 was NOT the right shoe for my specific purpose, which was to accommodate orthotics after a running injury – here’s my story, in case it’s useful to others in a similar situation. I’ve been a low-mileage runner for 30+ years (~20 miles per week) and I’ve got narrow bony feet, a very high arch, and pronation. I’d worn ASICS GEL-Kayano for more than 20 years (stability shoe for pronation), until I broke my ankle in August 2017 while running, and I started the slow process of working through recovery & rehab. My ortho recently prescribed some pretty significant orthotics to address my foot and ankle issues, at which point I was forced to find a “neutral” shoe that would accommodate my orthotics and still be comfortable to wear while walking (and hopefully, eventually running again). I researched recommended neutral shoes that would take orthotics (either because the shoes were designed specifically for this purpose, or the shoe’s upper was “tall-enough” to fit the added thickness of the orthotic), and the 3 shoes I ended up testing myself were the Brooks Dyad 9, the Saucony Echelon 6, and the ASICS GEL-Nimbus 20. I immediately discounted the ASICS GEL-Nimbus 20 when I could barely fit my foot into the shoe after inserting the orthotic (and a larger size wouldn’t have helped – the shoe was simply too “low-profile” to accommodate the thickness of the orthotic). The Saucony Echelon 6 was the “cushiest” of the shoes, and it accommodated my orthotics perfectly – I liked the flexibility and feel of the sole, even though it was much stiffer than the ASICS GEL-Kayano that I was used to. But the shoe’s heel cup was much too wide for my narrow, bony foot (even when I laced the shoe to create a “lace lock” at the top eyelets). The toe box ended feeling to “spacious” for my foot geometry as well – fine for casual wear, but definitely not the fit that I wanted for exercise. The Brooks Dyad 9 ended up being the best-fitting shoe of the 3 I tried, even though the sole felt quite a bit stiffer and harder than the Saucony Echelon 6. But the shoe itself is generally very comfortable, and I’ve been wearing it for 6 weeks now, walking at a brisk pace for 3 miles a day, with no issues at all – the shoe seems to work great with my new orthotics, and I would definitely purchase the Brooks Dyad 9 again for fitness walking. I don’t think it has enough sole cushioning for me to run in – but I’m not cleared to run yet anyhow, so I’ll cross this bridge when I come to it. (I’ve received another recommendation for the New Balance 1080 as a potential “cushier” neutral running shoe that works well with orthotics – will likely try this shoe when I’m ready for it.)
I'd also recommend:
Brooks Dyad 9, Saucony Echelon 6, New Balance 1080

The shoes run small. I wear a 9 purchased a 9 and they are tight. None of the other brands of 9 sneakes that I have ate tight excepte for ASICS. Color is nice.

I thought that the Nimbus 20 had solved the short foot bed problem but these were still a little too short. I tried a 9.5 as well and they were too big. Sadly I need to break-up with Asics for awhile and try a different brand.

Feel less cushioned than the Nimbus 19s, which i loved. Also, a little more snug. Jury is still out if they will loosen up and feel less stiff with more wear. I'm kinda disappointed overall. Usually the Nimbus feels great right away.

Oh how I want to keep these shoes! I have given them 3 weeks of work outs and they just don't fit right. Why, oh why, has Asics changed the fit of the Gel Nimbus? Very sad as I love the look of these. I had to go up a half size as the toe bed is now too narrow. I even tried a wide in my regular size 7 and it just does not fit right. I do not have wide feet. I have always been a size 7 regular width. I opted to try the 7 1/2 after reading other reviews. They fit in the toe bed, but the shoe itself is too long for me now. When doing lunges the shoe wants to come right off my foot. So sad as the style is so cute.

I am a loyal asics wearer. These just did not work for me. I wore them only twice and the amount of pain my feet and lower back are in is crazy. Exactly what I was looking for - very disappointed they did not work out!

This fits much like the 19, which is far less comfortable than the 18. The arch support may be more apparent after I've logged more miles, but for the 21, I suggest revisiting the 18.

I have worn many iterations of the Nimbus, and the 20 is not as cushioned in either heel or forefoot as the others. Fit is fine; I don't know what others are experiencing when they say they run small; in fact if anything they feel a bit wider than others I have worn. They are ok, but definitely not worth the hefty price tag. Returning and hoping my old 18's hold up a bit longer so I can look for a Nimbus 19 to try.
I'd also recommend:
I only wear Asics athletic shoes.

I was extremely disappointed with the 19's, so I was hoping the 20's would be a return to the heavenly comfort and cushioning like the 17s and 18s were. But that was not the case. They are better than the 19s with a slightly wider and more comfortable toe box . But they lack the cushioning of earlier models which was friendly on my knees with logging so many miles week after week. Asics, why must you mess with a good thing....bring back the design and make of the Nimbus 17 and 18.

I have been wearing the Nimbus since the 15's when I found I had Lyme disease. The cushion in the 15,16, &17 were amazing and have not been able to find another shoe to replace that. Didn't but the 18 or 19 because they were horrible and decided to try the 20. Bought the grey and pink- and though they are better than the 19, the shoe is not a "Nimbus" in my opinion. Hard, seemingly no real cushion and I have to buy an entire size larger than I normally would wear. Doesn't matter if the shoe is lighter if it hurts my feet. So, I cleaned up my old 17's and have been wearing those around because they feel like gushy heaven on my sore feet, ankles and knees. C'mon Asics! Just why?!?!? Please bring back the engineering of the 17's!

I love the look of this shoe! However, I am so bummed that Asics changed their fit. It is too small. I was always a size 7 in these shoes through many different purchases of the Gel Nimbus. Why oh why did they change a good thing! I am going to order the 7.5 and hope they work!
