I ordered 4 pairs of shoes, and this is one of the two pair I kept. I have many problems with my feet including plantar fasciitis, bunions, and flat feet that requires me to wear orthotics. I wear a double wide shoe due to my fallen arches and bunions, but my heels do not need the width. This makes it extremely difficult to get shoes that are comfortable. So far, I have been wearing the other pair I selected most of the time, but I feel that I will get my use out of this one as well. It looks nice as well.

This is my 2nd pair and I love them. I have a short, wide foot with a high instep and these are perfect for me. I have these for walking as I like leather since it does not give like the mess ones so my feet aren't sliding in them.

I LOVE THESE!!!!! I first ordered a 7 wide, as that is what I usually wear, and they were a bit short, so exchanged them for a 7.5, which fit perfectly. I love the amount of room that my toes have. Wore them to aerobics class today, which was the acid test, and they did everything I had hoped for. And, I must thank Zappos for the magnificent customer service. I had them the very next day...incredible.

I have a wide foot, high arches, toes that hurt and wear orthotics. This shoe accommodates everything. The black are great in winter, almost every pair of pants I own are black so it goes nicely even if they are not the most beautiful shoe alive, who cares? They are Comfortable!

I can't give this shoe 5 stars; there's very little arch support. With the addition of a BirkoSport insole (where have these been all my life?!?), though, they're wonderful.

I cannot comment on the arch support because I have weird feet so wear orthodontics as well as a metal plate in one shoe. This New Balance shoe has done a great job supporting all of my feet 'deformities' (that's actually what my podiatrist called my feet even though all I have are very high arches and instep as well as plantar fasciitis) oh well. I bought these shoes to wear for everyday walking in Europe for a month as well as daily wear since (six months). I have to say that the light grey suede shows dirt easily even though I sprayed them with suede protector prior to wearing. I do find them extremely comfortable and supportive. Perhaps a darker color would have been better but they continue to hold up well.

I wish I could have keep this very ugly but comfortable shoe. I think it would have been a good walking shoe. However, it is MUCH TOO WIDE AT THE HEEL - PAY ATTENTION SHOE MANUFACTURERS - I SEE THIS COMPLAINT A LOT IN WOMEN'S WIDE SHOES !

COMPARING 840V2 TO MY ORIGINAL NB 840'S THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON. THEY CHOPPED OFF HALF THE TOE BOX ON THE V2. I TRIED ALL DIFFERENT SIZES AND THEY ARE JUST O GOOD. I WROTE TO NEW BALANCE BUT OF COURSE THEY DID NOT REPLY.

I was buying WW840 shoes for awhile and was very happy with them. I used it for walking and exercising. The sole is very firm and protects toes joints from bending. It was time to buy a new pair to have a spare. Sadly, New Balance did a modification on a perfect shoe to make a version 2, WW840v2. Version 2 does not feel comfortable because of a different design on the top - a new seam/stitching goes right along a pinky toe and puts a pressure on it. Why to change a perfect shoe to something that is not comfortable? I could not possibly wear this version 2 shoes because of the pressure on pinky toes. So sad...

Shoe were much too stiff. These were suppose to be my new walking shoes to go to Spain and Portugal in October but unfortunately were so uncomfortable. Sorry that I need to return.

These fit perfect!! Very comfortable....and I have tried many other brands. I will only order theses from now on.

It’s become really difficult for me to find shoes in 13W that fit and feel good. I love NB but wondered if these would be as good as in days past. THEY ARE PERFECT! Wide enough and enough toe room and great support. I wasn’t sure about the gray color but I love it.

I love these walking shoes (nb840v2)! I am very sad that they are being discontinued. They are the most comfortable walking shoe that I have ever worn. My heart breaks to know that I will never be able to buy them again!

LOVE THEM! This is my fourth pair of NB 840 v2. What would I do without them? My orthotics fit in them perfectly, the toe box fits my high arch and wide forefoot. And my feet and chin are now pain free. While the v4 has gotten wider, these have stayed consistent in size.

This was my 2nd pair of this style....waited a month for my size to get back in stock! I have hard to fit feet, so when I find a style that feels good, I stick with it!

I have been buying a version of this model shoe in black for 10 years for work. Good support and comfortable to walk on.

Comfortable from the first time I put them on. Love the shoes and the cotton shoe laces.

I love these Bew Balance sneakers. I had originally ordered the 928's and although I loved the style and the gray color the leather was not as soft as I wanted. I have foot issues and needed more flexibility in the leather. The 840V2's are just what I needed. The leather is softer. If there is any draw back is the color. I didn't want black nor white. I got the gray but it is a very light gray, almost white. I just wear them for walking only so it isn't a big deal but I do most of my walking on grass or dirt. Oh well. They may not end up looking great soon but that's okay. As far as size goes I always order a half size up and they fir great.
