The 840v2 is serving my needs perfectly, It is solid and provides excellent support and cushioning. From a fit perspective, it is consistent with all other NewBalance products: where I wear a typically where a size 9.5-10 shoe, I always wear a 10.5 in New Balance.

Both of my feet suffer from overpronation, with the left foot more extreme causing some plantar fasciitis pain. These shoes along with a custom orthotic have greatly minimized my discomfort. The heel cushioning is one of the best I have found and what I need most.
My only complaint is that my other New Balance shoes are a 9, but a 9 in this 840v2 was too large and I had to exchange for an 8.5.

Because of my 4E shoe width and New Balance having shoes that offer that width along with a big toe box and narrow heel, I am a big fan of their shoes. This model has outstanding comfort and durability at a reasonable price. Only negative is the holes for ventilation easily let in water.

Sizing was perfect. In my experience, New Balance is consistent in sizing shoe to shoe. This particular shoe has excellent support and felt comfortable out of the box. I use them for walking and have probably put 20 miles on them already.

I’ve written a review couple of years ago and I still feel the same, it fits just the way I want cause I take the shoe’s inner sole out and put the orthotic soles I need. I’ve tried another type from N B and didn’t feel like these.
