Hi. I am returning these because it feels like I am walking on rocks. If New Balance would not continually change their shoes, I could just reorder the style that always fits and is comfortable. Pretty much the last New Balance shoe that I will every buy.

These run a bit short. My usual size 10D was cramped in length when I added necessary orthotic support; returned for 10.5D that fit comfortably. Oddly enough, the 10.5D had a strong chemical odor even though the 10D did not. After airing them out in my garage for 2 weeks, I decided to return them. Too bad; these would be keepers otherwise.

Comfortable, but way too short.

One person reviewed this shoe saying it was very cushioned for her feet. That is why I purchased these. They did not feel cushioned to me so I am returning them.

I actually thought these were perfect, but after wearing them decided they were too big, I should have gotten either a size 8 in wide, or just a regular 8 1/2.

My feet tend to run a bit narrow. This toe box was much too wide so the shoe looked clunky on my foot.

On the fence with this shoe. It is not a running shoe in my opinion. Much to stiff and rigid. Wide toe box, great arch support for high arched feet, but just cannot get passed the non springy, stiff sole. Well keep for work but not going to run in these at all.

I'm a 12 -13 Narrow. The 13 fit in length but the the shoe felt too bulky / big in the box toe area.

This shoe was listed as a neutral fit, but it felt like it was much more suited to the pronator, as it steered my foot in strange motion. Narrow width was perfect for my narrow, low-volume, high-arch feet, fit was comfortable, just not the right locomotion for my neutral to supinating foot.

Nice looking shoe and comfortable. my gheel was sliding up in the back. Did not like that part of it.

Toe box seemed large and looked large as well.

I have been wearing New Balance 840 for years. V1, V2, and V3. They used to have a nice flat footbed that fits orthotics, if you take out the insole. These new V4 are totally different. Not as much room for my very long toes, and worse, the footbed is no longer flat so it makes my orthotics not work right and I end up with a lump that hurts. So I can't wear them very well with my orthotics, and due to plantar fasciitis I can't wear shoes without orthotics. I don't know why NB changed the shoe so much that it is no longer the same. If they want to introduce and "updated" shoe it should have a different number. New versions of the same shoe should have similar soles and insoles and just be slightly modified. These ones have a major modification. So a warning: if you are used to using orthotics with previous versions of these shoes, V4 will not be good for you.

I should have known that after several reviewers loved the wide sizes, that this is not a good shoe for a narrow foot. The toe box is extremely roomy - way too wide for a narrow foot.

I was not happy with the style of this shoe. Looked wide on my feet. Returned for a different style.

I really wanted these shoes to fit as they are nice and light and look really nice. Unfortunately they seem to run a little narrower than other New Balance styles and they weren't as comfortable as I need. Other EE styles in this brand seem to be just right and this style is a little too tight. Sadly they have to go back.

The toe box is too large for a narrow shoe

First off, I choose New Balance because of their narrow styles. There was a bit of slippage in the heel but after a some wear, it wasn’t as bothersome. My biggest complaint is the tongue. Though there is a stabilizer (little loop you put the laces through) the tongue kept twisting toward the outstep. Super annoying!!! I found them a little warm so I won’t be using them in the summer. Not perfect but still a keeper.

Not good for my problem feet. Nothing wrong with shoe.
