Perfect fit!!! Ran true to size and like the toe box. Doesn't squish the toes. My only complaint is this. The left sneaker is not same as right. The tongue is longer and slips to the side when walking, The rubber on the toe is wider/larger than rubber on right sneaker. Also there was a crease on the inside of the toe box left sneaker. Obviously not Zappos fault but rather disappointing to say the least.

This is a great shoe. High quality material and very good looking. I have worn New Balance athletic shoes for years and these were the first pair that I felt were not sized right. They ran small and narrow. Some reviews stated that they had a wide toe box, but I did not find that to be true, even after ordering a 1/2 size larger. They had excellent cushioning, and I probably could have kept the larger size except for one thing: they caused my feet to roll inward pretty severely. I've never experienced this before and wonder if it was because these are running shoes and I should have ordered walking shoes. Anyway, I have to return them, but I will try another pair of New Balance shoes. I think Zappos is the BEST mail order company on the planet for allowing their customers to try and return shoes so that they can find the shoe that is best for them. I'd never order shoes from anyone else!

This is the first shoe that I can wear all day after a fractured heal. 12 plus hours of on my feet working and what a wonderful feeling to add no pain. Thank you new Balance for making a great shoe the spring under my heal allows for no shock no impact thanks

This is the one! Previously, I was really comfortable in the 1080v9. I ordered a new pair of 1080v10, but the fit was different - the toe box was too narrow. I returned them and tried these 840v4's, and they're perfect! Nice wide toe box and soft cushioning. I have found my new shoe!

I've had these for four months now and am very pleased with them. The cushioning is excellent and holding up well. Best of all is the wide toe box. I no longer need to wear toe sleeves to keep from getting blisters on my outermost toes. The toe box depth is also better than most athletic shoes I've had; I no longer have to protect my hammertoe from painful rubbing. No matter how much walking and standing I do in a day, I never have foot pain in these shoes--such a blessing! I'm about to order another pair to keep in reserve, for fear that when these eventually wear out, this style will no longer be available. I don't often write reviews, but I wanted to alert others with wide feet that this shoe is a real winner. It also is attractive on my feet and a nice weight--not heavy. I'm SO pleased with these!! This review is based on a size 10 double-wide shoe, worn by a survivor of bunion- removal surgery in her early sixties who prizes a comfortable walking shoe.

I looked at the measurements and chose my size based on those. The fit lengthwise is fine, but I feel like the width is off a little. I ordered Extra Wide (again, based on measurements) and the left side of my right shoe rubs on my bunion and arthritic area of my foot (big toe joint). I ordered these shoes as a way to avoid that, so that is disappointing, especially since they cost so much. I have to wear a big band-aid or silicone toe insert with an attachment that covers that whole area in order to avoid the rubbing. I work out a lot and try to walk a lot, so these shoes may cause issues with that and I am not happy. Other than that aspect, they are mostly comfortable and I like the arch support. I just wish the width was better.

Good shoes wide enough for my bunions but they were tight on the top of my feet. Not very comfy shoes.

The toe box is excellent, however the heel area is loose and weirdly padded, which causes slipping while 'in use'. The rest of the shoe is quality-made and worth this price, here on Zappos.com This is so frustrating because I thought I found a good fit, for once. Back to shopping I go! I'm exhausted. :(

After trying 4 of my favorite shoes, which are no longer cut to a true wide width, I had to go with something that offered a width that would fit, an EE. Not my foot changing, I checked several times! Love the color, comfort is outstanding, yet not happy with two things. The tongue is cut too short and the heel is too wide. I'm using the last available lace holes to compensate for wide heel, yet because of short tongue, the laces keep slipping over tongue. It's the only good shoe that provides the freedom of toe box with good support, so I'm just lacing up tighter to make them work. Work out 6 days a week and have arthritis in feet so need to spend $ on good shoes.

I thought I’d found the best NB sneaker. They have so many attractive features/color combos. Had to get a half size up (which unfortunately revealed a flaw) but the fit was great; a comfortable shoe the moment I put them on. BUT why would NB use a stretch fabric over the top of the shoe I’ll never know. My big toe poked up threatening to push right through the fabric. Not only did it look unseemly it clearly would be the first thing to go. Consequently there was no support on the top of my foot from the toes to the instep. The thin stretch fabric on the top of a sneaker without any support around it was a deal breaker. Have to start the search again.

I really liked the look of the shoe and the overall fit, but like my last couple of New Balance shoes, there is an unbearable lump in the sole near the ball of my foot. You can feel it when you rub your hand along the inside of the shoe. Over time, this really starts to hurt. Unfortunately, I'm sending them back.

Here I am, getting used to custom orthotics for flat feet. This shoe was on the list from the PT group at the Mass General Foot and Ankle Center, so I ordered a pair. My whole life, prior to orthotics, I wore a size 9. With orthotics, I've learned that I am a size 10. With these shoes, my left big toe is rubbing against the end, so I'm returning them for a size 10 1/2. We'll see how this goes. Fellow custom orthotics users, don't lose hope. It can be daunting trying to find shoes, but it can be done, it just takes more time than it used to.

I walk about 30 miles per week, and my old pair of the 840v4 were worn almost bare in spots. I knew that I wanted the exact same shoe, and New Balance came through for me. The fit is perfect and I'm off to the (slow) races!

My duck-shaped feet demand extra-wide (wide/D squishes my toes = painful calluses). These are heaven! I did slip my favorite Samurai Ninja arch supports under the insole, so I can't really comment on existing support. My plantar fasciitis is *finally* starting to ease. I wish more color options were available, but 10.5 EE isn't exactly common so I understand.

These shoes were comfortable right out of the box. I've got plantar fasciitis and normally use orthotics but haven't needed to with 2 days in these shoes. Our floors are ceramic tile on cement slab so being on my feet all day can be painful but so far these shoes have been very comfortable. They seem to have more room than my last pair of 8.5 but that may be down to the added orthotics in my last shoe. New Balance has been my preferred shoe ever since I read they were recommended by podiatrists. Arch support is very good, too. The color that I thought was black is actually dark navy but it's not a dealbreaker - though I'd have preferred black. They are really good-looking shoes and so comfortable. Zappos shipping was exceptionally fast considering the pandemic. Thanks, Zappos!

The fit is great. I have pretty wide feet and can never find shoes that fit right and are also stylish. I also have planter facieties and I can walk in these without hurting. These fit perfectly and are very stylish too. Very comfy!!

These NBs fit very well. I purchased the wide width because my feet are wide at the toe. These are incredibly comfortable and provide good even support across the entire width of the shoe. They are not squishy on the sides the way some shoes are. I use the primarily for walking and I walk a lot.

This is my 2nd pair of these shoes. I love them. Super comfortable and nice style. Great for running and doing HIIT on the treadmill. The toe box is wider than some brands, which helps my feet as I work out. I wish these came in black.

Please make more colors!!! I require a deep, wide toe box for hammer toes, and room for orthotic for plantar fasciatis. These sneakers are perfect for my foot conditions. They look pretty too!

These shoes are perfect for me. I have a bunion on big toe and pinky toe of my right foot. I wear a 8.5W and that is the size I got. The length is perfect, the width with the nice round toe is perfect and the top fabric is stretchy. The "last" is straighter in this shoe which also allows more room for the outer part of the mid-foot. My outer mid-foot got squeezed and sore in many other styles from basically walking on the edge of the sole. There are great, wished they came in more colors. I got the gray ones and thunder blue. My husband got a pair also and loves the fit as well in 11.5 4E .

Excellent shoe! I am a 7W and this shoe fits everthing i need. The stretchy mesh on top is perfect for wide feet. I am on my feet all day so this running shoe is perfect with all of its cushioning. I especially love the extra support in the heel. Also, they were ready to wear right out the box. No breaking in! Very pleased,

Quite comfy right out of the box, providing the perfect amount of support for running, walking, and some cross training. Had them tested with my chiro and they tested A+ for neurological response. The other shoe I ordered bombed the same test. They aren’t the most stylish but I only need them for working out.
