These shoes fit my narrow feet and have removeable insoles so I can use my orthotic inserts. They fit beautifully and look terrific!

I wear an 8W and the 8M fit great. I usually wear walking tennis shoes and bought these because the reviews said they were very padded. In addition, I hate the tennis shoes that look like wide boats are your feet. These shoes are fabulous for walking - no heel pain at all (my frequent complaint) and my feet no longer look like tug boats. I did change the insole to one with more arch support. I would definitely buy them again.

All I can say is I ordered a second pair so when the first pair wears out, I won't have to start all over looking for comfortable walking shoes. I love these!

Always a great fit. Glad to have another option besides black but wish they’d offer more colors. I can wear this shoe without orthotics! Great arch support and comfort.

Lovely images aside: this review is from a 67-year-old, retiring in five weeks (who’s counting), owner of a well-used pair of feet complete with arthritis and bunions that plan to enjoy plenty of future miles. New Balance EE shoes, via the return-friendly Zappos, became my favorite all-purpose shoes about a decade ago. 840v4 shot to the top of my NB beloved sneakers list. Although I have no practical experience walking on form-fitting marshmallows, 840v4 are my fantasy marshmallows. The toe box fabric affords my feet particulars form-fitting comfort coupled with support and a fashionable look. My previous favorite NB’s are enjoying retirement as my go-to lawn and garden care shoes.

I have arthritis in my feet and this is the shoe that was recommended for me to use. This is my 3rd pair of the New Balance 840v4 and it works great for me. I have tried others but end up right back to this one in less than a week. I walk 3 miles a day, 5 days a week. I guess if it works don't try to change it up for a "prettier" shoe.

I wear an orthotic on top of the shoe’s support. Together they provide a nice support and cushion. The 2E width is what my foot needed due to bunions. Glad I found these shoes. Can’t say enough about customer support. They were able to order the shoes when Safari made it difficult.

This is one style of shoe-New Balance 840v4-that I can order with confidence. It is a perfect fit every time, and doesn't give me issues with my feet, knees or hips. I hope this style sticks around for a long time. The new colors are great also. Just bought 2 more pair.

These sneakers are the one! From the moment I was able to easily put my foot inside, before even lacing them up, I knew I had probably found a fit and style for my feet. Finally! I was able to give my feet the comfort they deserved and enjoy walking more than ever. What it took was the extra width that most other shoe vendors don't offer, especially in women's footwear, and I found it with Zappo's. SO happy with my purchase, after trying 5 other pairs, and almost giving up until Zappo's sent me an email advising the restocking of the style I was interested and ultimately bought. Thank you!!

Love these so much that I bought a second exact pair of the blue (with super fun shoestrings that never need to be tied—I love them!) and a third pair in black. I primarily wear for long walks (10k steps per day), but they are stylish enough to wear for running errands too. I highly recommend!

These are the most comfortable New Balance shoes I've had. I always look for SL-2 shoes because the ball of my foot is very wide but the heel is narrow. I ordered 8 WW like I usually do, and these fit perfectly. The soles provide a lot of cushion. I like the two types of laces that are included. Very pleased.

Super shoes, love the "rubber" type cloth on the toe, more reinforcement. I wear a narrow width, but still put in my orthotics. Fit perfectly.
