I have narrow feet anyway and I was surprised how narrow they were. They worked for one foot but on my other foot, my 2 end toes were getting crushed... that does not really happen to me, I have decent feet. Unfortunately because they were hurting me I have to return. Shaft of the boot definitely narrow, that was okay for me as I have narrow calves. Zipper was a little tough to pull up/down. Color of the leather was beautiful!

I love Frye boots. Usually. These are very stiff and the zipper is right at the back of the heel and very snug. You almost zip your calf to get the zipper up and usually I have room in the calf for standard boots. There is no cush at all in the footbed. Great price, but sadly going back

These boots are so beautiful - the leather and the color are gorgeous - but I have small calves and these look like fly fishing boots on me! I have the Jayden boots and the calve size on those are great. I thought these would be similar but they're much wider, so unfortunately they're going back. So sad! The leather really is so nice.

I've been wanting a pair of Fry boots for several years. First pair I bought a couple years ago, were very uncomfortable and I ended up sending back. A few years later and I purchased these and also had to send back. They are extremely difficult to get on. For one the zipper is really stiff and hard to get up and down. The bigger issue though is even once you have the zipper all the way down you have to use a lot of force to get your foot into the shoe. I've tried a few different styles, similar ones though and had the same issue with all of them. I have a very narrow foot, so struggle to understand how anyone can easily get these boots on. I've given up on Fry's. Sam Edelman had a nearly identical style for about the same price and much easier to get on.

I was looking forward to getting this boot, however the fit was really off and I am returning it. The foot bed feels tight but true to size in length. Not a big deal as leather stretches. The deal breaker was the shaft, very wide at the top and a pronounced round molded shape on the calf. Looked weird, more like funny shaped rain boots, and not the classy fitted look I was expecting from the pictures. Maybe it would fit someone with wider calves. It's a nice looking and well made boot. Unfortunately it didn't work for me.

Really want to love these and I hope as time goes on with wearing them they will become more comfortable. The length is perfect! I'm 5' 6" and it hits about an inch below the knee. My calves are more on the athletic side so they are a little snug, but I think with the boots being leather they will soften and stretch over time. The boot is a little narrow, but if I wear thinner socks it's alright. Again, with it being a full leather boot it may stretch out a bit over time. My biggest complaint is the zipper. While the boot is breaking in a little bit, the zipper is not. The way the zipper sits it rubs on the back of my ankle when walking and pinches my skin which is annoying. It's also caused quite the blister and I could tell it was the zipper because I could feel the rough edges of the metal. I'm hoping that it isn't some type of design flaw.

These are nice boots, unfortunately the back zipper just doesn't work. As soon as you flex your foot to walk you can feel the zipper in your heel.

The calves are made for fat people & ankle is too wide (not a sexy, fitting, feminine boot), but width of foot is slightly tight. The leather is nice quality, though. This company would make so much more $ if their boots were slightly taller heal, & more feminine & slim fitting in the leg rather than a basic riding boot look for people with fat calves.

This boot was really beautiful. However, the back zip was not going to go over calf - I would say I have a medium size calves and had this been a side zip it would have been fine - tight but it would have worked. My Frye's are great and stretch out over time to a perfect fit. Too bad these are really beautiful boots - if you have slim calves get these!

I really loved these boots. The cognac color is beautiful and the leather smelled amazing. My calves are about 13 inches and the 14 1/2 calve circumference was too wide. The boots looked like rain boots on my smaller calves. I think these are perfect for those with regular/wide calves. Also, I didn't especially like the bottom sole without any traction or grip. Besides these things, I loved the boots. They are beautiful.

Such a gorgeous boot! Sadly, they were too narrow at the toe area and rubbed my toes very badly. Had to return.

I really like this boot, but unfortunately my "athletic" calves would not fit.

These books were lacking in style. The shaft is very wide and boxy. The way the zip is designed, it’s really difficult to pull the boot on and I have narrow feet and slim calves. The foot part was snug and the shaft was huge. No shape.

shaft circum is once again too small compared to the shaft at the ankle. looks ridiculous!! Does Frye think ankles are 2x the size of calves???? jeez..... :( going back. I'm done w Frye....will do another brand now as this is my 3-4th pair of trying over a year or so.

Absolutely beautiful and obviously well made, but the 7.5 were much too narrow for my foot, and I don’t usually order wide shoes. So sad.

These are nice quality boots but they did not work for me. First, they are not what I would consider cognac. They are a darker brown, with a reddish tint. Second, they are fairly plain. I did not have a problem getting on or off (especially unfastening the snap at the heel). They are very slick, as some other reviewers have noted, so count on having to do someting to add traction.

Beautiful boot, but far too stiff for me. Loved the shaft height - I’m 5’7” and wanted a boot that came up just under my knees. These did. But so stiff they weren’t comfy to me, and I didn’t want to have to break them in. Also, FYI: the soles are smooth and very slippery. Be sure to scuff them up before wearing or you’ll wipe out!!

I was super excited for these boots - finally Frye is making boots for those of us with calves! However, I couldn't get my foot in the boot without serious effort and the back zip only made it half way up my leg before it was so tight I had to take it off. That was without tights. My calves are 16''.

These look really pretty in person, but when they arrived, I found the back zipper and strap combination to be a bit cumbersome. The inner toe area also felt more narrow than I would have liked. Unfortunately, I will be returning these.

I have always heard great things about Frye boots so I was thrilled to see this pair on sale (and in my size!) for a reasonable price. However, although the boot looks gorgeous by itself, it looked terrible on! The boot was all floppy around my ankle, making it bunch super unattractively -completely losing its shape. Too bad, as I was hoping to LOVE these! Also, I have muscular athletic calves from triathlons, and these were a bit on the tight side for me (but workable). But otherwise the fit around my foot was good.
