LOVE this boot, ordered 2 pairs of Frye and one other less expensive boot. This Frye boot and the other brand both fit but there was no question as to which was the better quality. The cognac color is amazing... The zipper makes all the difference in putting on boots and I love the heel tab. Zippers are stiff but I think they will be easier with more use. Opened the box this morning and I’ve had them on all day and so far no problems. Thank you Zappos for your shipping and return policies. Makes it so easy to shop for the right size and fit without any hassles.

Love these boots- they feel great a little stiff but that’s due to being new. No problem with zipping them up. They fit around my calf perfectly.

I wanted to LOVE these! They are beautiful, great quality, and comfortable. The issue for me was they were huge around the top. I've always thought I had athletic calves, but these boots left me wondering.

I have other Frye short boots and wear them all the time. The shape of the Melissa foot works well for me. I have a high instep and high arch and they are comfortable. They fit a little snuggly around my 14 1/2” calf but I think they’ll stretch just a bit with wear. I doubt they’ll work over the top of leggings but will see,; I want them primarily for skirts,etc. they are quality leather, a little stiff rather than butter soft. I tried Cole Haan and they were loose around the ankles. I like that these contour to the ankles and don’t slip in the heel because of the heal snap and zipper that goes all the way to the heel of the boot. They look and feel like quality. I wear size 8 in shoes and 8 1/2 in sneakers. I got the 8 and they fit just right

Fit is awesome, will need a little stretching in the toe box area to be perfect. But they are leather, so they will be fine. Wish they had a non-slip sole. Very slippery leather sole. I have 14 3/4” calves and this boot fits perfect with leggings. But probably not with jeans. They may stretch a bit to fit jeans, but I bought them to wear with thinner bottoms like leggings or tights. Zipper works well, had to unbutton decorative snap at bottom in order for zipper to go all the way down to get boot on. But the snap is easy to use and a very nice decorative touch.

These are gorgeous boots that are roomy, smell great, and seem durable. I am almost 6' tall, shoe size 11, and I have medium calves. In the non-extendded version, these have enough space to tuck in leggings or knee-length socks. I will say that I am worried about the zipper in back. It is hard to zip, but that may get better over time. I would have chosen a zipper-less pair of boots (new zippers at the cobbler's are expensive!), but all the pairs I saw were not as long in the shaft as these.

As many reviewers have said - these boots are beautiful. They are the real deal. Nice quality, smooth leather. These will be my lifetime tall black boots. The toe area felt a little snug, when I first put these on, but I can tell they will loosen up and conform to my feet as I wear them, and I have a bit of of wide forefoot. The zipper is a tad stiff, but if I change my angle I can pull them up. I am hoping it gets smoother over time. My one concern is that while the calf fits snugly/perfectly most of way, the very top is a little big for me and sticks out a bit from my leg. I think when the leather softens and breaks in a little, they will look more natural. I was having trouble finding tall boots that I really like, and I like these so much and got a great sale price from Zappos, so I decided to overlook this one minor fit issue. I wear a 9.5 in most boots and a 9.5 or 10 in some running shoes and hiking boots. 9.5 is the perfect length in these. The back zipper makes these easy to get on and off, as long as you remember to unsnap the bottom snap.

These boots are beautiful. I ordered these and the Melissa Button 2, thinking I would prefer that, but i like these better for a number of reasons. With the zipper you get a more sleek fit, and I actually like the look of the zipper and snaps much more than I expected. The leather is very smooth everywhere, whereas in the Button 2 style the leather is a bit wrinkled and puckered in the leg area. The extra room in the ankle area of the Button 2 gives it a more casual look, more like a cowboy boot style I think, but I wanted something a bit dressier. I tried both with leggings and jeans, and both work well. I have a 15" calf and didn't need the extended size. Both the styles fit beautifully in the foot, and this will only feel even better over time. The zipper is a bit stiff at first but I assume it will get easier to maneuver. These are on sale too, yippee!

Always check the reviews. Due to the reviews I ordered a half size up. And I am so glad I did, while these boots are a tiny bit long ( I can add a pair of socks to make up for that). The toe box is perfect. I love the look of these boots the cognac color is very versatile. The bottom is a little slick, but that can be easily remedied. I don’t think you regret buying these boots.

I’ve wanted Frye boots for a long time, I finally got the perfect pair!! The leather is really of good quality & the style is beautiful! They are comfortable & look great! I’m so happy with this purchase! Plus Zappos is so easy to work with. I ordered because I knew if I didn’t like them, the return would be free & easy!

I love these boots! They are very stylish and cute. Unfortunately, they are a tad too large for my calves. (I have skinny calves) If you have normal sized calves, they will fit just fine. I really like the snaps at the top of the boots and at the heel.

These boots are GORGEOUS. I bought them to use as fall boots, also for a Jedi costume that I wear to charity events. I wore these boots for over 6 hours the first time- and I don't have a single blister or sore spot. The bottoms of my feet were sore for standing on concrete for all that time, but that was it. These boots are stunning and worth the investment.

Fit was on point. They look phenomenal! A bit stiff and the bottoms are definitely "slick", but with time should be optimal. Very happy with my purchase.

Love the look of the boot. They fit snug but not in a bad way. String leather smell. I had trouble getting them on and off before I realized that the snap at the bottom of the zipper actually unsnaps. (Doh). No problem after that. They are very slippery during the first couple of wars but not after. Great boot!

Great leather. The bottoms are extra slippery the first couple of wears. The ankles are very narrow. They have been stretching out each time I wear them, but for the first couple of uses they were tough to get on and off. Overall, happy with the boots but they definitely need to be broken in.

Fantastic looking Boot. However after a week of trying to get them on without success finally manage to do it using a pair of players to pull the zipper up past my calf. Now after wearing them for 10 hours I maybe able to wear daily. My calves also aren’t that wide. As with a good pair of boots sometimes the pain is worth it to break them in. Even though I’m a male I love the women’s Frye Boots. Just wish they would market them to men since so many guys buy them

I loooove these boots. The style is beautiful and I get compliments wearing these. They are not super comfortable but not uncomfortable either. I’d recommend giving these a try. I’m a 8M and these boots were true to size. I also didn’t have any issues with the buttons snapping off as I walked.

These boots are GORGEOUS and smell amazing! I have to keep them in the box so the dogs don't chew them. They definitely run on the small size. I ordered 1/2 size up (9.5) and they're ok, but snug in the toe box. I can tell the leather will give as it breaks in, so I'm not worried. I just have to be intentional about breaking them in. The calf circumference seems a little bigger than listed. I've got a ton of room at my calf and ankle. There is not much arch support which will be a problem for me but once I've got them broken in, my inserts should fit nicely into them offering more support. I'm totally stoked to FINALLY own a pair of Fryes. I can't wait to have these for the rest of my life.

I've had this boot for over a year now. Incredibly comfortable and beautiful. Just yesterday I received 3 compliments on them from strangers.

Nothing is easy about this boot: I have muscular calves and it's a struggle to put on these boots. I have to lie down, stick my feet in the air, and have my partner zip me up. Ridiculous, but they look so beautiful, I'm going to keep doing it. Once they're zipped up I feel like I'm strapped into a rocket ship. BEWARE: the soles are super slipper so make sure you scrape them up with sandpaper before you step outside otherwise you're going to land on your butt for sure. ALSO BEWARE: these are very heavy zippers and they scrape the backs of my heels raw, even though there's a thin protective leather flap. I have to wear blister guards to save my skin. Like I said, there is nothing easy about this boot!
