The boot arrived and fit beautifully but the zipper was broken. Zappos of course provided exceptional customer service. That being said, this is the second pair of Fryes I've sent back for shoddy workmanship. Since they've moved manufacturing overseas, the quality is not what is used to be. No more Fryes for m!

Beautiful crisp boot, however, similar to other reviews, the boot ran small in the foot area and tight in the calf area, and the zipper was stiff. I normally wear a size 8, at times have to size up to 8.5, but the 8.5 was still tight. Leather is beautiful, but very easy to scuff/scratch.

I love my boots. I’ve been wanting a pair for years but couldn’t get myself to pay over $300 for them but I got these on sale - worth every penny! The zipper is a little hard to pull up and down but nothing that would make me not love the boots. Overall good purchase.

I wear 7.5 in every shoe but usually for boots I go up to an 8. These were not available in an 8 so I got the 7.5. Wearing regular socks not heavy socks they fit perfect. Beautiful boots! Gorgeous color Cognac! Absolutely love them. No problem getting them on or zipping.

These were my second pair but different color. Their quality is worth the price. Also the style is classic and timeless. I’m hoping to keep them for a long time. Only thing I noticed is that two pairs were slightly different in shaft height that slightly problematic to me but I decided to keep them anyway. Highly recommend.

This boot is every slender girl's dream come true. I typically wear a size 00-000 in pants which makes it incredibly difficult to find a boot that fits my skinny long legs - these do the trick. I can't speak to how these would work on someone with average to larger sized calves though I imagine the leather would stretch over time. However, the process may not be the most comfortable as the leather is stiff. I did not have any of the issues with the back zipper that other reviewers have mentioned. One important point to note is that the foot bed is half a size smaller than marked. I typically wear a 5, ordered the 5.5 and found the fit to be snug and narrow. Overall, the Melissa button back zip is a well crafted and beautiful boot with a sleek silhouette.

LOVE THESE!! I seriously wear them year round. Good for the rain, mud and snow. Definitely not warm enough to play out in the snow but great for work around the house and running errands. Super cute and stylish.

These boots are made of stiff leather. Recommend ordering a half size up as I would not rely on the leather softening up quickly.

Love the back zip! So much more comfortable than a side zip. Need to break them in as they are stiff as with most new Frye boots! Love them!

Nice boot

These boots are gorgeous! I have wanted them for years and finally got them at a reasonable price. I originally ordered them in half a size larger than I normally wear and other than wearing them around the house to break them I had not worn them when I saw a size 9 finally available. I ordered the size 9 but kept the 9-1/2 to be sure the 9 fit better. The 9 fit better but the zipper on one boot broke at the bottom while trying them on around the house. So now I had to return the first larger pair and this pair with the broken zipper. Well, like a knight in shining armor, Zappos’ legendary customer service stepped in to save the day. I called customer service and they immediately arranged for a return and an exchange, and I got my new size 9 boots the next day!!! I am now breaking in the new boots and I LOVE THEM. I will always check Zappos first when buying new footwear, as Zappos now has a repeat customer for life!

The leather is gorgeous and I already have a pair in brown, but I have a very skiing calf and it is too wide for me with leggings and sometimes jeans.

I love Frye- the quality is always fantastic, and the styles are timeless and elegant. These boots are so beautiful and really well-made. They are a snug fit (I wear a 9, but my right foot is a little larger than my left- I probably should have ordered a 9.5, but I’m not sure what’s more annoying- too loose or too tight!). I’m 5’7 and slim/athletic and the boots came up right below my knees and the shaft fit very well, no problem zipping. The color isn’t exactly what I’d call cognac, but it’s true to the picture. This is another pair of Frye boots I will be happy to wear!

PLEASE BUY THESE BOOTS! They are worth the money. You get what you pay for and these are worth every penny. I wish I could give these boots more than 5 stars! I loved them from the moment I put them on. They took practically no time to break in. I love every time I put them on. These boots will never go out of style. Frye's are classic.

I love these boots! The leather is great quality, which means it will take a little time to break in. I traditionally wear an 8, but sized up for these and I don't regret that at all. You'll love this - super practical for every day wear, but can also be dressed up with ease.

I've coveted these boots for a couple years and finally pulled the trigger on black friday. I'm an 8.5-9 and ordered a 9. After the first wearing they are so comfortable! I have pretty thin legs with muscular calves and these are nice and snug. If you have larger calves they probably won't work for you. Also if you are shorter than 5'4" they may be too tall and hit you weird in the back of the knee. Strong real leather scent :)

I wear a size 9 in Born and in Franco Sarto boots, but the size 9 in these was too small. I exchanged them for a 9.5 and they fit perfectly. They are beautiful boots and will look great with dresses and jeans.

After buying and returning about 8-10 pairs of boots the past 2 years and trying on many others in stores, I think I'll keep these. The calf width is right for jeans or bare legs, the leather is quality and I like how simple the design is, just 1 zipper on the only seam in the back. The 2 buttons and construction make the ankle stiff and not bunch which is soooo awesome and difficult to find. I really dislike boots that slouch in the ankle and am praying these won't over time. I'm going to store them upside down in hopes of slowing the slouch process. The "dark brown" color is almost perfect- it does have a hint of red, but I can forgive that. They are almost too perfect looking straight out of the box, but I'm sure they'll wear nicely like my other Frye boots and get better over time. Thanks for the free (and somehow overnight) shipping Zappos, now I know why people love you.
