Too long and this is from a girl who has a 33" inside leg! They pinched a lot around the knee. Also, when I'm paying this much for a pair of wellies they should look great right out of the box. This was not the case for these boots; instead they had taken on a flat squarish shape at the front (probably from the way they were packed in the box) which looked awful, not like the picture at all. The color is not as cute as the picture either, more garish in real life. So disappointing as I really wanted to love these.

I want to start by saying that these books look fantastic. I went against some of the advice in the reviews and ordered my standard boot sizing (I am a US 8½ and I ordered a 9) and the fit is perfect with the wellie socks. The part that I am very unhappy with, is the sizing at the calves. I have never had to order wide calf sizes before in any boot. These boots, I can barely pull up. Wearing them over jeans or even leggings is nearly impossible. Beware!

The size felt like it was twice as big even with the Hunter socks that fold over. I also disliked hoe "clunky" they were even for rain boots. I bought another brand around the same time and just really liked how stylish and true to size they were. I still think Hunter is a great quality product and was sad it didn't work for me.

I was so excited to get these, I've wanted Hunter boots for a couple years and I fell in love with the violet purple color. When they came in I eagerly put them on only to realize they were pretty much cutting of the circulation in my calf muscles. I struggled to get them off even! I wanted so badly to love these. The color was super pretty in person but I have larger than average calf muscles and these boots aren't forgiving in that area. Kudos to Zappos for next day delivery and easy returns! I'm ordering the adjustable version (from the UK) so hopefully these will work!

I'm a true size 6.5, and I have muscular calves, but I'm hardly obese (size 4 petite). I ordered a size 6 because I read that they ran large in the foot; the foot itself fit well with thick socks and seemed very comfortable. However, the boots barely fit in the calf with stockings and were too tight with thick knee socks, so I had to return them. (I also tried the Huntress in size 6, but the foot was too small, so I'm going to try the size 7. The Huntress is only slightly larger in the calf, so if you're not skinny but want to tuck in pants, another brand is probably the way to go.)

I love the color. But I have thick calves so they do not fit. They are tight around my calf and slough. Not a cute look. So I will be sending these back.

These boots were just too tight around the calf. I had to return them, and I was very disappointed. I ordered the huntress gloss, which were exactly what I thought these would be. I originally selected these because I wanted the tallest shaft, but that seems to be the issue. They are tall and slim, so it is nearly impossible to get your pants inside the boot.

Well, I had to try these, despite all evidence to the contrary -- knowing almost full-well they'd be too tight in the calf, and they were. Not so tight I couldn't fit my skinny jeans in (I have 14" calves) but tight enough that it would've been fairly uncomfortable walking dogs all day, which is what I do for a living. Tight calves gave way to extremely loose ankles, too -- which were bunching up while I walked around the living room. I guess it's just that these boots, the high hunters, are made for people of a certain shape of leg -- not curvy or athletic, definitely. So, back they went. I'm trying the Hunter short boots next, because I didn't want to go through the heartbreak of trying the Huntresses and being disappointed again. High hopes.

I really wanted to like these boots. This is my third pair that I've ordered and tried, and I just don't understand how people consider them comfortable. I am sending them back. I am an 8.5, and I think that's the problem... the 8 feels too tight (with welly socks), and the 9 feels HUGE. So I'm going to continue the search for a good pair of rain boots but can't justify the price of these due to how uncomfortable they are.

I just got my boots in the mail today...and I love them! They are beautiful. They are a bit big in the foot part, but tight around the calves, which worries me because I cannot wear the wellie socks with them, because it becomes too tight around the calves. But I still love them. I am okay without the wellies because with regular socks they fit perfectly.

Unfortunately these just did not fit my calves. Sad because I absolutely adore this color. I ordered the pink Huntress style instead and they seem to be more accommodating. I wanted these to work. I wish Hunter made the Huntress in all the same colors for those of us with athletic calves.

I originally ordered these in Turquoise size 9 and they just were not the color I was expecting but I exchanged them for black size 9. In the winter they are perfect, they leave enough room for me to wear jeans and socks with them. The sizing of the boots are very awkward. In the summer however they are big around my calves and feet, which makes it hard to walk. I always wonder maybe if I should have gone a size smaller, but then maybe they would be too small!

I have big calves (15 1/2 inches) and have been wanting some rain boots. So I took a chance and ordered these. Great boot, but the shaft was too tall for my calves. The color looked the same as the picture, and they would have been great. I was sad to return them.

Well-made sleek boot, however, the shaft was too high for my short legs (I'm 5'2). I can't walk up stairs well in these boots or sit comfortably. Also, the opening is very wide and looked awkward around my knees. I'm sending these back. Too bad because I wanted to like these. I found a pair of Sperry Top Siders that are much more comfortable. The Hunters weren't Uncomfortable (aside from hitting the back of my knees). They just weren't particularly comfy. (The insole and arch support are mediocre at best.) So as much as I admire these on other people, they just didn't work for me. (I ordered the bitter chocolate gloss and they were more of a milk chocolate color but still pretty.)

They are great for snow and rain because they are so tight on your calves there is no way snow or rain can get through. I like the boots but forget wearing anything but skinny skinny jeans or leggings with them. I dont have larger calves and they are so tight on my calves, I had ordered two sizes too big the first time and those were tight on my calves as well. So unfortunately, the tightness is a plus for weather and a minus for clothing options.

I got these boots in red just to brighten up my wardrobe and also if it was raining to brighten up the day a little. These didn't turn out the way I wanted them to just because they were just too tall for me and it was snug in the calf area. I'm only 4'11, so I would suggest anyone who is as tall as me or shorter not to get this one but try the Huntress model. Otherwise the boot was very pretty and made very well. I would also suggest getting a size smaller, I wear a 7.5 and I thought that if it got an 8 it would be good with a thick sock. Well my feet were swimming in that size! Hope this helps!

I wanted to love these boots. But they were so tight in the calves, I couldn't wear them. I am not heavy; I run and lift weights, so perhaps my calves are a bit on the big side, but not much. I returned these and got a pair of Hunter Huntress, which have more room in the calf. I can wear the fleecy liners and tuck in my pants.

Was disappointed when I received these in graphite. Was expecting more of a charcoal gray but instead it is more of a bluish gray.

Was so excited to get these and was so disappointed when I did! My calves are a bit larger (used to be a dancer), and I sometimes run into problems with boots as a result. I could barely get these over my calf with no wellie socks on, and they were also tight on the top of my arch. Terrible fit for me, which makes me sad because they're cute! But if you know you have a high arch or larger calves, these are not the boots for you.

Have wanted a pair of Hunters for the last two years. Finally bought a pair - and when they arrived I was very disappointed with the fit. The foot itself feels a size larger than what I wear, while the shaft seemed tighter than it should have been.

To be honest, these boots are terrible for me. They look awesome on girls with skinny legs, but they are uncomfortable to walk in with pants tucked in. If you don't wear high socks with them, they feel uncomfortable against skin. Walking any more than a 1/4 mile in these hurt, because they rub the back of my heel. Normally I try to double up on socks, but sometimes this doesn't help. The left boot must have an air pocket in the heel also, because anytime I step after walking in the rain, I can hear the heal squish. The only good thing I can say about the boot: they keep your feet dry.

I loved the look of the glossy rainboot, very versatile, however, the gloss isn't so glossy after a month of wear. I was really disappointed. Now, they look just look like a regular pair of worn out boots.

I like everything about them. I returned them because my calf couldn't fit comfortably. They don't come wide. I wasn't able to tuck my pants in. Make them bigger in circumference!

I spent a ton of time researching the best rain boots out there. The Hunter's have no support whatsoever. I know a lot of people have had issues with the narrow shafts on the Hunter boots. I have chicken legs so it wasn't really an issue for me. I would not recommend them if you plan to do a lot of walking. The gloss wasn't too much on these boots and they look good. As far as size goes, I'm an 8-8 1/2, and I ordered the 8. They fit pretty close with thin socks, but if you plan to buy the Hunter fleece socks I would definitely go with a 9. I was extremely disappointed in the comfort. I wore them around the house for an hour or so and started to feel discomfort on the back of my ankle. Blisters were just around the corner.

Nice color. The only bad thing about these boots is that they are too tight in my calves so I can't wear my pants inside them, but I still kept them. I wish they would have other sizes for circumference.
