I love these boots. I have size 11 feet and these boots actually had extra room in them. They are overall very comfortable.I also bought those liners, which added a nice touch. The only thing I have a slight problem with is that it runs a little tight around athletic calves.

I love Hunter boots and wanted a pair for awhile. I ordered these and the calf was too small for my athletic legs. I loved the gloss and the color, but had to go with the Huntress style instead. It gave more room to wear these with jeans and scrub pants. The original gloss only left room for leggings. I wish Hunter would make the Huntress in fun and glossy colors too! PS: The actual foot size seemed bigger. I am usually an 8 in boots and got the 39. even with thicker socks i had tons of room...so I would suggest going a size down. the calf size is the same for all though.

I highly recommend these boots! They fit best if worn with the Hunter fleece socks or your own socks. Very effective at keeping feet and legs dry and stylish in the rain.

These are very cute boots; love the color. Very comfortable and they do the job of keeping my feet dry on rainy days, although I can tell already that they will not be very warm, even with the liners that I bought. One point to be aware of and they are very tall. I have short legs (29 in. inseam) and the boots literally come up to my knees.

I couldn't see myself in patterned or multi-colored rain boots, so I purchased these. I found them to be very sleek looking and kind of sophisticated.

These boots are definitely not made for people with calves that are all that muscular or on the wider side! Mine fit into these, but if I decide to take up mountain biking or become a marathoner and build up my calf muscles anymore, they're not going to fit! They do run rather large in the foot area despite running so small up the calf. I usually wear a size 8.5, but most reviews said that these boots ran a bit large, so I ordered down and got a 39/UK 6 (US Women's 8/US Men's 7). If these were sold in half sizes I'd have gone down even a half size more, that's how bit they run! That being said, they're cute and functional. I bought them in red and they are so cute.

They fit perfect. I am on a college campus. I am walking a lot, and these boots keep your feet dry and look cute! All for an excellent price.

I currently have La Canadienne and Aquatalia waterproof leather boots for work, but wanted one that I can get dirty and walk through the foot or so flooded gutters that we get in SF during a rain storm. At first I tried the children's version of the boot but found that it was not tall enough. These are about as tall as I can go (I am 5'2") without it hitting me behind the knees. Even so, it is hard for me to drive since the back part tends to get hung up on my car seat. I got the lime green color and I've received many compliments on the boot. It is comfortable but no arch support at all, so I use a pair of orthotics with the shoe. Also because of its height, it is difficult to remove if you are not flexible. It certainly keeps my feet and legs dry and I'm happy to have the boots. Also, I have 14.5" calves and they fit my calves enough to accommodate socks or leggings. Boots have good traction.

I currently own these in turquoise blue which is beautiful, bright and eye catching. These are very well made, sturdy boots. I would say they run 1/2 a size larger than stated, they fit more like a size 7 1/2. I normally wear a size 7 in USA sizing so this is the Hunter size that fit me the best, the label inside my boot says: UK5/US 6-7/EU 38. I found the next size smaller would have been too tight with thick socks on so I got this size. They're too roomy with normal socks on; I absolutely must wear very thick hiking socks with these boots. I'm not sure if I want to keep them or not because my husband said they look a bit juvenile on me, I'm 44 but look 36. I try to avoid looking like I'm trying to be younger than I am so I'm still not sure if I will be keeping these, I may return them and get a more subdued color next year when they get these boots back in again in all the colors. A color such as the 'graphite' I think would come across a little more adult.

I am a size 8 and originally told to order down, but the size 7 was too tight. The size 8 is a little roomy, even with thick socks. Love the look. Ordered 2 day express delivery and they appeared on my doorstep the next day-soooo fantastic, way to go zappos!

Really nice rain boots, you can feel it is high quality material right away and they are very comfortable to wear, I did not find them to be tight on the calf. The violet colour is more of a hot pink, and I absolutely love it. Also, got the fleece socks, I wear them on snowy days and it does keep me warm.

Great boots. I disagree with the review below that said they are too heavy. For what they are, tall rubber boots, they\'re fairly light. Maybe I\'m a Clydesdale, I don\'t know lol. I actually was expecting taller, thinner shafts. In person, they look a bit wider and shorter. I\'m a runner, about 5\'9" 136 lbs, and don\'t have what you\'d call tiny calves, but my legs fit in the shafts fine even with jeans on. \r\n\r\nThese do run large. I am a 9.5 in most normal street shoes, a 10 in running shoes, and the 9 felt a bit large with regular-thickness socks. Felt more fitted with thicker ski socks, but I can\'t see wearing super-thick socks on those hot summer days when it\'s monsooning here in Houston. Just FYI, if you intend to wear them with regular socks, size way down. If too large, the heels will allow your foot to escape, as is common with any brand of rain boot.\r\n\r\nArch support isn\'t really there - easily fixed with some insoles, which may actually help the fit. These boots may arrive looking like they have a residue on them - that\'s just the protective wax. Wipe off with a warm, damp cloth. Overall, very stylish, cute enough to wear out to a movie on a rainy day.

I really like these boots. I have the black Hunter original gloss boots. I purchased my regular size, and feel that they're a good fit, especially with the well socks that I ordered as well. My only complaint is that after 2 wearings the gloss has gotten a bit chalky.

These are my first pair of Welly shoes ever! At first, I was skeptical about the fit. After having worn them over a week, I cannot wear anything else outside! I love them! I wear a size 8.5, but found they were too snug with the Welly socks, so I returned them and purchased a 1/2 size up. The shaft of boot is a bit snug, but only at first! Otherwise, they just melt to you the more you wear them. The Welly socks makes them so that I can wear them in cold weather. It works! Now I have boots for spring and winter!

I ordered the violet color, which is more like the fuchsia shown in the picture. It is a great vibrant color, love it! I normally wear a size 10, but ordered the 9 because most European sized shoes run a size big. They fit perfect. My only complaint is I wish they were about two inches shorter. Being 5'5", they go up to the bottom of my knee. Other than that, I love them!

I was so excited to find a pair of boots that were both practical and didn't look like grody men's workboots; I bought both these Hunter Gloss boots and a pair of Hunter Welly fleece socks. I just got them today and discovered that the boots taper in at the top of my calves so that I can't tuck in my pants in the boots very comfortably. This is funny to me, because my mom used to always say I had "bird legs" so I don't know how other people are able to wear them! When I tried on the Welly socks with my pants, they were almost too tight to get off! Needless to say, I'm sending them back. I'm very disappointed. I am a size 8 in shoe and I bought the size 8; they were roomy, but would've probably worked out fine in the foot, they just have a strange quirk in the shaft of the boot. I'm going to try out the less-stunning Hunter Original and see if those will fit better.

I ordered these glossy boots in beautiful Graphite gray. However, they feel a little tighter than my old pair in the same size. I don't know if it's because my old boots have a little bit of give in them, but still I found it weird since I expected the sizing to be the same. Zappos shipping time is unbelievably fast. They are well worth what I paid for.

With the caveat that I haven't had a chance to wear them in the rain yet, these boots are really cute. I definitely recommend the gloss, as the regular can look slightly waxy in person. I'm 5'5" and have what I consider to be thick calves in that most boots are a struggle to zip up over pants. These boots fit fine in the length and the width and have more than enough room for pants. The long socks will also help putting them on with pants, since there is no zipper obviously to allow for tucking pants into them prior to putting them on. They are definitely big and bulky in the ankle area but they are designed to look that way so it will be a matter of preference for you if you're used to very slim fitting sleek boots. I can't wait for it to rain (and I've been a Southern California girl for 12 years before moving up north so that's saying a lot. I hate rain.)!

After much deliberation between the Gloss and Original, I purchased this boot in black. The color is a rich black, and so far does not have any of the white marks I have seen on the Original boots. I normally wear a size 6-6.5 and purchased a 5, which fits perfectly. My only complaints is that the shaft is snug.

I was so excited to get these boots as I am in love with wellies and how dry they keep your feet despite the slush so often found in the midwest. When I got them I put them on only to find they barely fit over my calves with no socks (I am very athletic and have larger than normal calves), but if you do as well, take care to take into account when looking at these boots. If you have skinny calves and have no problem getting into any tall boots, then these would be beautiful! I loved the beige coloring; I'm just sad they didn't fit!

I ordered the Hunter Original Gloss boots in Lava after much agonizing over which rain boots to buy. I am so pleased with them! The color pops, especially on cloudy days, and I wear them with everything. My only warnings are beware if you have short legs; the top of the shaft may rub your knees, and the shaft definitely fits closer than some of the other reviews indicated. Otherwise, the boots fit beautifully. I hope to have room for the wellie socks!

Great quality rain boot, but I have to return it because it was a little too tall for me. I am about 5’2” and the top of the boots came right up to the bottoms of my knees, so it was a little uncomfortable when I sat down. The buckles also made it uncomfortable to cross my legs because the boot was pretty high. Otherwise, I thought the color and fit were very good. Super comfy. I’m sad that I have to return them!

Ordered these for my daughter for Christmas. The first pair that arrived was all scratched up and appeared to have been a returned pair. Called costumer service and they were excellent! They sent a replacement pair out the next day! The second pair that arrived was much better (it even had the Hunter tissue paper), but it to had a few scratches that we did not notice until Christmas Day when my daughter opened them up. The imperfections where not bad enough to send them back again we just treated it with olive oil. Not sure if the Shiny Black Hunter boots are prone to getting scratched easily. Overall they fit great. My daughter wears a 9, but I ordered a 10 so she could wear bigger boot socks with them. She said they are much more comfortable than regular rain boots except they come up a little taller on her leg (almost to the knee). Definitely not worth buying another pair. There are several other brands that we like better. This was a one time only purchase with Hunter Boots.

These boots are a little too tall for me (I'm 5'3), but the real problem for me is that the shaft is sooo wide. I prefer a more tapered calf. Returning.

Like a couple of reviews before this - my black "glossy" Hunter boots came with a white, chalky film all over them. I wiped one down and waited a bit - but it's still there. There is nothing glossy about these. Very disappointing, especially since I used two coupons toward this purchase.
