These are very comfortable. I like these shoes a lot. It’s between these and the ASICS gel-Kayano 23. Bought a half size larger then normally would wear. It felt like a good fit.

It's been rather chilly in SoCal so I use my WaveRider21 indoors and outdoors ! I love this shoe helped me with my gait and while I'm not a marathon runner I am the occasional runner these in my opinion are perfect for beginners & long time runners

I have to say I am impressed with the Wave Rider. I don't have the previous model to compare to but I have worn other styles of Mizuno that I will no longer wear. The lightness of the shoe is a big plus for me. I also really love that there is enough support and cushion (without weighing the shoe down). I currently train with another brand of shoe but since receiving the Wave Riders, I have been switching out both brands/styles for different training runs. Definitely a great shoe for runners of all levels! ***I received a pair complimentary of Wave Riders from Fitfluential. All thoughts and opinion are my own,***

I've been very impressed with the Mizuno Wave Rider 21. It's a good balance of being a neutral shoe while still providing support and cushioning. I've always preferred to run in a neutral shoe, but sometimes they are too flat or don't have enough support for my longer runs. I've enjoyed running in them so far, although at least right now I get a slight pain in the arch of my left foot from wearing them. I'm not sure if that's because I'm still breaking them in or some other issue, but we'll see what happens. They are also a fun color and great for everyday walking around too.

I have been road running in Mizuno shoes for years and go back and forth between a neutral and a support shoe. I usually like the support shoe better but the Wave Rider 21 is the exception. I think Mizuno has really improved on the neutral shoe with this model. The comfort level seems to have come up a notch, especially in the heel area. I received a pair of these at no charge to review and always like to list the pros and cons when I get a chance to review a pair of shoes like this. I'll start with what the pros. The Wave Rider 21 has great cushioning. I have run up to 10 miles at a time in these shoes and haven't had a problem with blisters or sore feet. In fact, I put at least 40 miles on these shoes before I came here to write the review. One of my favorite things about Mizuno shoes is how they fit my feet. I have a pinky toe that turns out and gets painful in tight shoes. This means I have to be careful to choose a brand that has a wide enough toe box not to squish my toes but not too wide where my feet slide. Mizuno has always worked well for me in the toe box fit. I like the stability of these shoes. I'm not a fast runner but I do put in a fair amount of miles every week. These shoes fit my running type well. As for the cons, I only found one but it seems to be resolving. About the first 15-20 miles running with these shoes, my feet got numb. I don't know if it was just part of the breaking in process as it seems to have gone away now. I almost gave up on the shoes but kept reminding myself that it takes time to break in a new pair of running shoes. I'm glad I didn't give up as I'm no longer having the problem. One other thing I want to mention is for those fast racers who like a lighter shoe, this shoe is not designed for that. It is designed for the average and beginner runner who values comfort and stability over speed. That is why this shoe works for me.

I've worn many different rider models and this one is definitely one of my favorite versions!I I love how breathable the shoe is, how light it feels on my feet, and the mesh around the toe box! I also, normally, have trouble with a lot of running shoes fitting my skinny feet well, but these fit perfectly! I will definitely be clocking many miles in these. Thank you, Mizuno!

Great neutral shoe - perfect for my return to running (after 9+ months of not running due to pregnancy/new baby). Fairly lightweight, breathable, and responsive. Perfect for a newbie or seasoned marathoner.

I've taken quite the break from my running. I went from training for a half marathon, down to the occasional jaunt around the neighborhood. I signed up for a 5k to motivate me to get back into things as soon as I got these shoes. They are super comfortable the moment you put them on. I've had problems in the past with running shoes giving the tops of my feet and shins cramps and pain, but got none of that in these shoes. The colors are super cute, and fit true to size. The only problem I had was they are a little heavier than the shoes I am used to wearing. Other than that, I can't complain! *I received this product in exchange for an honest review. I have used previous Mizuno's and while I liked them, I never loved them. I used a different brand of shoes for training runs but these new 21's have surpassed that. I only gave 4 stars because I noticed a little pain in my toe but that wasn't constant and wasn't each time I ran, so it may have been due to other shoes I wore during work. I loved the stability, the cushion, and the colors. I'm excited to use them in my half marathon training coming up!

As someone who has been running for about 6 years, the Mizuno Wave Rider was the very first shoe I ever ran in. But over time, I moved around, changed things up, and ran in all sorts of other shoes. But this shoe may have changed my mind. When I first put the shoe on, I realized that it initially felt a little narrow in the toe box, but after I started running, they felt good. The cushioning was exactly the right amount, and the feel of the shoe felt so good. I have used it for a fast 5K as well as a 10 mile long run, and there is definitely more to come with these shoes for me.

I got these to try for walking, elliptical use NOT for longer jogging workouts. I tried my regular size, my regular size in a wide, and my regular size plus a half. I wore thin socks and my regular size to take a short not intense walk and decided to keep them. The toe box felt good and the support for my heels - which hit the ground hard when I walk. I tried these because I over supinate and had read that this shoe has good support to correct that. I don't really know about all that yet, but I also liked the periwinkle color and liked wearing my real size shoe for once in an athletic shoe. The 4 stars are because I don't really know yet how long I can go in these and still have happy feet. Hoping! Oh yes, I have regular width feet and the toe box was fine on both feet including the larger one, though it is mostly longer not wider - if you see what I mean.

The color online is not at all what they look like in person. I would not have ordered neon hot pink shoes

I really wanted to love these. They fit really great, but when running they just hurt. I have broken in other running shoes before and not had the pains I've had with these. I am going to try them for a few more runs and see, but at this point they just hurt to put on (feels like I'm running on sharp rocks). If I did not wear them for a few runs already I would be returning.

I only had the epiphany a few years ago that a store selling me a "shoe that runs a little narrow" is not the same thing as a 2A narrow sized shoe (which no one seems to carry in stores)! My running totally changed when I started ordering the 2A Wave Rider, it's a great shoe. But be warned! For some reason this model seems a tad shorter in the toe box than the 20 and now I'm awkwardly between sizes. I'm a little heartbroken.

The sneaker is too "squishy" for me and the sole is a bit thick. I feel like I'm stuck in mud which is causing me to drag/scuff my feet.

I love the Wave Rider Shoe and have been wearing them for about three years. I ordered the Athena Silver pair recently and the shoe is great for running but I was disappointed in the color. In the photo, the pink color is more toned down and when I received the actual shoe it is neon pink.

I have a narrow feet and pronate. When I tried these shoes on I thought oh the perfect width, but when I started walking in my bedroom I noticed an odd feeling in the mid foot and my feet were rolling out word slightly. Love the color and style; however, after a couple more times trying to walk around the same issue. Really hoping they would work. Back to Ascics.

Imagine it is a solid Supination shoe for most, but the width and length is small and next size up not available.

This shoe is almost too soft for me. I found them loose in the heel. Maybe they are better for a wider foot?

Still looking for the perfect shoe for a wide foot. This shoe is comfy, but just too narrow for me. I ordered a 7.5D- still too narrow!

These felt great when I tried them on. Then I went for a short run, just three miles, and they gave me horrible ball of foot pain, and slight shin tenderness. I supinate, have medium/high arches and bunions on each big toe. They did not bother the bunions. They felt light and springy, I just don't think there was enough forefoot cushion for me.

This is a ridiculously narrow shoe for a wide shoe. I have worn mizuno shoes for years and they get more narrow with every “improvement”. I used to wear the B width and now the D is too narrow.
