Given how expensive this bag is I expected much better quality in the construction. I'm not against spending hundreds, even thousands, for a good quality bag, but this bag seemed like it would be incredibly high maintenance, poor quality for the price, and I question how it would hold up normal wear. As others have mentioned, the strap should be slightly wider for the Large size (it worked ok with the Medium - I bought both the Large and the Medium, but the Medium was way too small for a spring/summer vacation bag which was the primary purpose for this purchase), and the unfinished edges of the strap looked like it would unravel to just a messy look within a few months. I bought the lighter grey color which I loved but the bag arrived with what looked like scratches even though probably just imperfections in the material, but made me concerned about how fragile the leather is. The bag had a weird crinkle sound that I can't figure out what caused it but made it seem cheap. Last but not least, the ultimate reason I returned this is when I put just my wallet in, the bag hung too low for the magnetic closures to keep the flap in place, so the flap would bunch/roll in on both sides and you'd see the circles from the magnets - this caused a sloppy look and made the bag contents less secure since the magnets no longer worked. Adding other basic things like a phone would just make the bag heavier and make the situation worse. If this bag was $50 maybe I would have kept it, but for $375, I felt ripped off.

I would not recommend this leather. I have had this purse for less than a month, have taken very good care of it and it still has spots on it. Reached out to customer service and they do not have a cleaning product or way to help. Would not purchase this product again.

I purchased and received my VIP purse less than two months ago. Threading that secures strap loop unravelled without warning while I was out yesterday - purse dropped from my shoulder to the floor while I was in a store. Embarrassing. And very disappointing considering age of purse, price point, and perceived quality. I have contacted Hammitt and am hoping this issue will be fixed and resolved ASAP. Unrelated, but additionally agree with other reviews re: need for 1" strap with this style.

I've only used it a week and a rivet is already missing! I'm so disappointed after spending that kind of money on a bag! Now I'll have to also go through the trouble of sending it back to be repaired. This is incredibly unacceptable.

It feels terrible - scratchy and stiff - and the "material" looks cheap. Style is good though.
