First time purchasing this particular model and the tongue is far too short. If the last lace holes are used or if loop lacing methods used the tongue is so short the laces work off the tongue onto top of foot and is very irritating.

So what happened to New Balance? Drinking the globalist kool-aid apparently. All 7 previous pairs (i buy one pair a year) were MADE IN USA... So guess what, this pair is MADE IN CHINA! I did NOT mind paying $140.00 for them previously because they were MADE IN USA and feeding American families. Putting money back into the US Economy. Apparently US employees do not need jobs. Apparently US employees are not capable of building a "high end" shoe as this pair "is" (that the used to be able to do but no longer can???). It bothers me that I paid $140.00 for a pair of shoes, that used to be made in the USA, is now made in CHINA. Why doesn't NB cut the price in 1/2 since they are paying squat to folks in China to make them. I can see (not that i would buy them) NB making shoes "abroad" and selling at a lower price because the labor rates are 1/50th of what they are here in the USA. But $140.00 for a pair of shoes that no longer supports American families is very bothersome. I will be looking elsewhere for USA made shoes for my next pair. I wish more Americans would do the same.. READ the labels where they are made. I probably wont be buying NB online anymore because you never know what you will receive, apparently. This is my last pair of NB shoes. To think I was supporting a company that cared.

No enough cushion/padding in the sole/insoles and the tongue is too short.

I texted with New Balance and asked for a walking shoe made on the SL2 last. Two shoes were recommended. One had a mesh upper and the one I ordered was leather. I wear a 11 1/2 Wude in the NB 940, which I have worn for years.

Where do I begin with this... To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. I've always had decent luck with NB sneakers. After shattering my ankle, my doctor has recommended footwear with ankle support. I've bought the same style in other colors and never had one be so uncomfortable. So, let me start at the beginning... First, the shoe fit properly. It didn't rub the toes or have any other issues fit wise. The brown leather wasn't bad either. While I admit to looking like a middle-aged, soccer dad wearing them, they don't show the dirt and grime like the whiter versions. As far as the cushioning and heel support, boy was I misled by the positive reviews. Reviewers said these were really comfortable. From the moment that I put them on, it felt similar to walking barefoot on concrete. An hour into wearing them, my heels hurt, and my feet were tired. When I switched back to my older shoes, the same style but in white, I didn't have the same experience and they were well on their 12th month of use. For the price that you pay, I would have expected better. At least reimburse a customer for having to buy inserts to make them more comfortable.

The tongue is too short on this shoe. Had to return them. I love my other NB shoes but this model needs to be impru.

I kept this pair way too long to return it. The shoes are relegated to garage duty. I have been wearing 928s exclusively for years. My Version 1s and Version 2s still serve me well. I did have to replace the thin and useless foot bed with aftermarket foot beds to get the support that I need. The length of the tongue in Version 3 was shortened from that of earlier versions and barely contains the laces. The shoe causes my foot to strike the ground too hard during my stride. The design of the sole (like earlier versions) traps small seeds and stones in the tread and requires use of a screwdriver to get them out. For the price of this shoe, I expect more.

The quality is much inferior to the 575 purchased long ago. The straps are too long and don't present a very good appearance.

I bought this to improve comfort for Hallux Rigidus (turf toe). I felt the shoebox was a little too tight and caused the toes to be pressed together. Also, it feels like there is a rod or support just under the toe joints that add pressure to the toe joint as you walk. The shoes appear well made, good quality but the comfort factor is a real issue.

Rather stiff and uncomfortable compared with 669's. Probably a better shoe for some, but returned these, kept the others.

I always take a size 13, but the 13 in this style is too short, more like a 12. I'd try a 14 if it was a store purchase, but I don't feel like sending shoes back and forth by mail. It's a nice looking shoe though, and appears well-made otherwise.

I ordinarily take a a size 13, but this style in a 13 is much too short, more like a 12. Maybe a 14 would fit, but I don't feel like sending shoes back and forth. I'll have to go to the stores.

Ugh. I had this exact pair of shoes and wore them until they literally fell apart (3 inch rip on the side. They WERE extremely comfortable, fit my orthotics and I loved them! So, when the side ripped (after over a year), I ordered the exact same pair, same size, same ugly brown look and color. Because they worked! Something has changed in the making of this model, because no matter what I try, the tongue slips down after a few hours of wearing them, resulting in that uncomfortable feeling where the top of your foot (the bridge) feels the pressure of the material scrunching up between the shoelaces and your sock. This results in me having to take off the shoe and pull the tongue back up and put my shoe on again. And a few hours later, again. And again. Eventually, I figured out that the tongue is just a bit shorter than the same model was engineered two years ago, and that a bad run at the New Balance factory resulted in a number of negative reviews. I am returning these (even though I have worn them outside) and will order other ones in the hopes that they have the longer tongue. Still a Zappos fan!

I've been buying these 928s since v1, and I've loved them. I have gotten white, brown, black and tan pairs. So why the change to a cloth top? In a white shoe? What were you thinking? Were you thinking? It got dirty the first time I walked through some dust, and there's no way to clean them! Good job! If I wanted cheap Keds, I would have gotten Nikes. Thanks, New Balance. For nothing.

I have ordered these shoes several times before. They are sturdy with great support and have always had a very cushioned heel which I need with my back issues. My recent purchase looked like previous pairs of shoes but there is very little cushion if any in the heel and it hurts my back and knees tremendously. I don't know if the shoe changed or the insole material changed but I am in lots of pain with my recent purchase.

The tongue is so short when its laced up the laces sit across my foot instead of the tongue between my foot and the laces. Very unhappy because the shoes are so expensive.

I’ve been wearing New Balance exclusively for perhaps 15 years or more. In the last few years, they’ve changed many of their designs for the worse. This one is no exception. This model used to be comfortable right out of the box, with good cushioning and quality leather uppers. No more. This one is stiff, with cheap leather and not nearly as comfortable as past models. I have a wide, somewhat flat foot. I wear a 9.5 EE. I wound up ordering the Brooks Addiction instead, in 9.5 4E, and I love it. It’s made like New Balance used to be. I returned the New Balance. (The Brooks Addiction runs slightly narrower, so the 4E fits like the New Balance 2E).
