New Balance quality has declined. Athletic shoes are not the same, wide is not wide, insoles are not as cushioned, and Zappos wide widths are extremely limited for men and women.
I'd also recommend:
Zappos really doesn't keep wide widths, never did have much to choose from, for men or women

I have found that NB shoe sizes vary considerably across model numbers. I ordered shoes in my usual size and they were too big. Returned them.

A D in Women's is a Wide, A D in Men's is Standard. We both wear a D ordered a Wide for my husband. It would be less confusing if a D Width would be the same in Mens & Womens . We have both wore 928's for many years. Very Good Shoe. My error, I'm sure once I get the wrong width returned and receive the right width I would rate the 928's 5 Stars

The shoe is great but the shoestring and the flap are not. The shoestring slides under the top of the flap. Also, the flap is getting wrinkled.I have to pull that all the time.

As others have said: The earliest 928's had longer/better tongues.

The shoes fit and are well made but the Velcro strips are not long enough.

I wear a size 8 X 4EE in other brands. This shoe in that size is way too narrow.

New Balance is certainly capable of making truly narrow shoes - 2a, yet in this very useful style the narrowest available is B. I have to insert 2 insoles to obtain almost sufficient support. This is a decent walking shoe, but the sole is a somewhat flexible for day long use.

The brown leather is, in my opinion, an ugly shoe. But very comfortable. I replaced it with white leather which suits me better.

have wide, wide, low arch inserts and use these at work on a few sites that are concrete and tile. Not so great 4hrs straight on concrete but fine for 2hrs. Heel has some room for floating; hoping the heel lasts longer than the running shoes i usually get.

For a "B" width shoe, I was surprised as to how wide the toe box was in these shoes. Lots of room for my toes. But, these have to be the stiffest, hardest to bend, New Balance shoes I have ever put on my feet. It will take a long time for these to become a really comfortable pair of shoes. I also find them to be hot compared to my Brooks Addiction walkers.
I'd also recommend:

They're comfortable but I don't think I'll get more than 1200 miles out of them. I walk 4-7 miles per day.

This is the 4th pair of these I have used. Very comfortable and stable shoe. This shoe was recommended by a professional to accommodate bone spurs on both my feet. The only down side is that the shoe to sole seams tend to separate too often, making for wet feet when it's damp.

Not sure yet . But I was very disappointed in the look. They didn't look as bulky I. The picture. They are very unattractive.

I have been buying New Balance shoes for over a decade. I have bunions and the large roomy toe box in the 928V3 allows me to wear my custom orthotics made by my Podiatrist who also recommends these shoes. They also have the stability built in them to help with pronation. I currently have 5 pairs of varying ages. I recently purchased two new pair which arrived a few days ago. I wear a 9 4E to accommodate my orthotics and so they are wide enough to feel comfortable with the bunions. The PROBLEM with NEW arrival of 928V3 shoes is that the size 9 is and 1/4 " LONGER then the older size 9 4E. When ordering I noticed that New Balance had a 6E size that I hadn't seen or noticed before. After thoughtful consideration and following my intuition I thought I should order the 9 6E knowing over my long lifetime, part of my work life in the clothes business, that with different manufacturers sizing can change a bit. My assumption proved correct by ordering the 6E as my custom orthotics fit PERFECTLY WIDTH wise. However the length had changed and the NEW or THIS YEARS 9 was an 1/4 " LONGER. This means that with my custom orthotic in the NEW shoe I had enough room to put my INDEX finger behind the orthotic. This difference in length is also confirmed by measuring the old insole, which is still new as I don't use them with my orthotics, with the new insole. YES again the NEW INSOLE was 1/4' LONGER than the OLD INSOLE. I contacted New Balance to tell them this and to also ask for a return label to be sent to me via my P.O. Box address. I was told that the only was for me to get return label was to Print it out, i told them I have no printer, I can't go to UPS store, to have them print label as Sheltered in PLACE. I called UPS and they told me the small substation in the village that I live 10 mi. from couldn't do that. So I had to pay $35.00 to have UPS do a pickup a Even though in the past mailing a label was never a problem New Balance told me they quit mailing labels. Stuck!

Worst pair of New Balance Stability Walkers that I have ever purchased. I buy these shoes to give me support especially from turning the heel on my left foot. This pair seems to increase the potential of turning my ankle to the outside and they do not fit near as well as previous pairs.
