The Speedgoat 2 is a totally new shoe from the Speedgoat 1. The 2 is very stable and secure. It feels very agile and light however provides a great deal of protection and traction on rough trails. I love how the shoe feels snug on my feet without feeling tight offering a sports car like feel. Those who prefer the slop of a roomy shoe so they can do toe aerobics probably won't be happy with the shoe nor the ones with chubby flippers. One complaint is a wish the back of the shoe was married more to the front to provide a more aggressive rocker sensation. Overall I like the shoe as it's a vast improvement over the previous model as it was designed for only one persons mechanics. The cushioning is adequate for the long haul however I would be one happy man if Hoka starting using Non Newtonian material for their insoles instead of standard EVA.

I walk or hike over 14k steps per day and have only worn Hokas since my podiatrist recommend them to me three years ago to relieve foot stress . But, the Speedgoat 2 doesn't cushion or support the foot as well as other models I have owned. The good points about the Speedgoat 2 are 1. very light weight, 2. rounded toe, and 3. ample foot bed so toes don't feel cramped. I got them because of the sale price and because one of my pairs of Hokas were worn out; so, I am keeping them. But, can't recommend them because other Hoka shoes are much better.

I love this shoes for its weight, perfect for travel. I keep these in my travel luggage and wear the heavier shoes on the planes. The material on the top its already ripping, I am traveling abroad in two months, would love to teae them but afraid it may crate. problem. I wish they were made of a better stronger materia with the same weight so I could buy them again, Now I am searching sor similar weight shoes. If you buy them enjoy them but be aware that they may not last as long as you may expect.

Not so fond of the shocking pink on the inside edges - expected it to be half grey like the outside- I wear these shoes to work and it is too attention getting .... will return to previous design in future - would like more styles that are not so obviously “running shoes”.... but do love the comfort,

I was looking forward to wearing these but unfortunately, they were too narrow in the toes. I have an average width and most B width are fine.

The Speedgoat 2 is a comfortable shoe once broken in. Having owned 4 pairs of the Speedgoat 2 now, it takes about ~50 miles for these to fully break in and feel comfortable. However, the uppers never last long. They always blow out on the outer or inner edge where the toes bend. I usually get about 150 miles in before the upper develops a hole and causes sand and little rocks to enter the shoe. Seems like a steep price to pay to have a shoe only last the break-in period and a 100 mile race. At that point, it becomes a "wear around the house" shoe and gets retired from racing/running duty.

After the speedgoat1 not stable and the ATR3 desintegrating fast (fabric tear and sole unglued), the Speedgoat2 is great, comfort, stable, super grip, a bit more solid. Bought my third pair this year. However, the very tip of the sole and much more problematic the rear sole got unglued relatively fast for two of them. Getting the grips stay on your shoes really seems to be a recurring problem with Hoka.

They seem like a great shoe, although until a wide width is available I'll never know.

I used these shoes over the course of about a month and logged about 50 miles of trail/gravel with them. During this time, the comfort provided via the cushioning was far superior than other brands I have utilized in the past. Moreover pains I had in my thighs were eliminated completely...great plus! However, as I neared 50 miles, there was a breakdown of the material surrounding the inside of the shoe on the heal--(red fabric). This material ended up "bleeding" onto my socks significantly. The fabric didn't break down, the color just seemed to increasingly bleed. Further the lugs on the rear of the sole wore down, not completely to the sole, but pretty close. Much more of a wear than I have experienced with other "similar" brands. I also found a breakdown on the sole just before the back lugs and honestly wondered how it was even possible for that wear to occur... I am writing this review after returning the shoes to my local running store due to the concerns above. That said, don't get me wrong, they are comfortable, but I wouldn't recommend purchasing due to the issues noted in the previous paragraphs. While I likely will not purchase another pair of Speed Goats in the future, I will however purchase other Hoka One One products to test again as the level of comfort was VERY ideal.

This is the best shoe I've found for hiking the PCT. They have great cushion and really help with my plantar fasciitis. The grip is OK but not amazing. The insoles have decent cushion too. The problem is they don't last very long. You can get a few hundred miles at most. Maybe that is by design to get us to buy more? The rubber comes off at the toe. The sole as starts to come apart. The fabric also rips easy from rocks and trail debris.

These are very cute shoes. I love how they look, but my feet are wide in the front and narrow in the heel. Although I ordered a half size larger than I usually wear, they were still too tight across the instep and they were too tight at the heel causing them to rub. Unfortunately, I have to return them and am planning to order a different style Hoka.

So far I'm impressed. I have had several pairs of hoka. I really enjoy the cushioned ride. However they tend to wear out rapidly. Let's see if these hold up.

I returned this pair because it seemed the shoe rolled my foot inwards and the material hung over the sole causing rubbing.

I bought this second pair to be able to rotate my shoes daily. This pair , is the same model, same size, and just a different color. This felt tighter from the beginning, and I've a sore spot on my right foot from the tightness. My other pair felt great from the beginning, and I wonder if I'll ever be able to wear this pair comfortably.

Used the SPEEDGOAT 2 new out of the box for a 40 mile (Appalachian) trail run. Shoe is comfortable with a great tread. Unfortunately, the toe caps on both shoes separated the first time I used them. Sent them back trusting the return policy will honor an exchange for a pair of CHALLENGER ATR 4.

The cushioning on this shoe was amazing; however, I failed to recognize that this was a "trail" shoe. I walk for the most part-- rarely, I'll run-walk intervals on the treadmill or inside my park district track. That being said, this shoe made my gait unsettled with the trail type tread for my more regular usage.
