I use these shoes for working 13 hour shifts as a vet tech. I have an old injury (shattered ankle) that has made life miserable while on my feet. Since I purchased this shoe it has greatly increased my comfort and decreased my pain throughout my work shifts.

Fits as normal. Orthotics fit. Love the roll rocking movement in the stride, when walking.

I love this shoe so much I bought two pairs. I use it for both trail and road running and the cushion is great. The material isn't as durable as I would like but that's my only issue with an otherwise amazing shoe.

I use for walking and work. I also have a preexisting issue with my ankle and these shoes are definitely more comfortable than any other shoes I own.

I purchased these for a difficult trail race (The Frozen Snot in Central PA). It might be a reflection on the steepness/insanity of the race, but I found the traction of these shoes a bit lacking. To be fair to the shoe, however, spikes are recommended for the race course, and I didn't use them this year (warmest race in years). Having said all of that: these were my first pair of Hokas, and I really liked them. Very gentle on the feet, I wore these several times on road training, and will be using these in the future. The sole of the foot is a bit soft and does not cushion a sharp blow (like stepping on an angled rock). Probably a good choice for a less-intense course than I did. Overall, I like them a lot and have purchased another pair of Hokas for road running.

I purchase a road shoe, then a trail shoe for running. I haven't felt this good in several years! There is nothing I don't like about these shoes!

Fantastic shoes! Took them to the trails right away and I have not had to look back once. Great fit and stable over technical trails in AZ. I continue to be impressed with different Hoka models.

Bought these to upgrade from Stinson ATR after a couple of training runs these got me through my first 100km Ultra, at a very wet and muddy Tarawera UltraMarathon a couple of weekends ago. Finally Hoka are making the shoes a little wider please keep doing it.

This shoe combines all the elements you need to go long over any terrain. If you like the Challenger ATR, the Speedgoat 2 takes all the best elements and makes them better. The cushioning is superb and lasts all day. The vibram outsole provides great traction even on wet, slick, technical trails. Although the stack height is high, you feel as if the shoe cradles your foot and gives good stability. This is an amazing ultra-distance shoe that can take on any condition and environment.

I was apprehensive buying these because I am used to bare minimum shoes and have exclusively run in them for nearly 10 years, but I needed good trail shoes that could give me traction in wet, muddy conditions for an upcoming race in Antarctica. Hokas were recommended to me and their trial period policy comforted me in my branching out, so I obsessively read reviews and settled on the Speedgoats. They were, as others have commented, comfortable out of the box. It hardly seems like there is any breaking in to do. The lugs are sturdy and look like they will help me keep from busting it on the race course.

I'm heavy...205 lbs. I mostly run 50ks and train 30 miles per week minimum. I've been a Brooks Cascadia loyal for more than 10 years. Salomon didn't work either. I got tired of rolling my ankle and buying KT tape. Since I've started running in the Hoka Speedgoat 2, I've not rolled my ankle once and don't need the tape. I have two pairs of Speedgoat 2's and will never go back to Brooks.

This is my fourth or fifth pair of Hokas, by far the best tread design for trails. Would definitely recommend. Supportive, even for a pretty severe pronator.

I loved the speedgoats immediately. I tend to roll my ankle on trails, and haven't once since wearing these (knock on wood). I'm training for a 100 miler and found my shoe!

Loved them, but due to knee injury I returned them for the softer cushy sole of Bondi 5. These shoes felt great and would be wonderful for hiking. I was tempted to keep them. Also not as bright a purple as photo showed, but still lovely.
