Plenty of pockets of all sizes, good for anyone who likes to be organized as much as possible. The only con to all the space to organize things is it can be hard to fit several books and tablets in the backpack at the same time without it being a tight squeeze that bends your books and papers or squashes your lunch slightly. Very comfortable, secure, and easy to adjust. Definitely a good fit for the active college student, hiker, or anyone who spends their days on the go. The bag is sleek, and has a very gender neutral look that I can share with my husband, great for anyone of any age that values style and comfort equally.

I received this pack back in exchange for an unbiased review of it. I LOVE this bag. I lug a lot of stuff around for my job all day and needed a bag to carry them around in. The thick straps provide added support. The back of bag that rests on your back is padded, which I love! So no matter how much product I carry on my back, my back doesn't take the brunt of the load. It's cute as well :) I only wish the inside area or pockets were a little larger. But I would still recommend this bag to anyone!

Was looking for a basic comfortable school back pack and found just that. Fits everything I need and even has a dedicated laptop or tablet padded pocket. Very comparable to the authority backpack which has more pockets but also a slightly higher price. Great bag

I generally use one backpack for everything: bringing a computer to work, when running errands, going to the park, and travelling on short weekend trips. This backpack is roomy but still has a slim profile, is great for transporting a laptop (it has a separate compartment), and looks easy to clean -no stubborn materials. I do wish it had a shallower zip pocket somewhere. There are shallow pockets in the main compartment but nothing accessible from the outside (like for your keys, wallet, etc). That's really my only complaint about this backpack.
I use this frequently when biking and its slim profile fits perfectly in the front basket of many bike-share bikes (Divvy, CitiBike, etc); I'm not sure if this is by design, but it's great!

Good quality pack, but I don't think there are enough small pockets for all of my trinkets. The metal buckles on the side can jingle against the metal zipper, which gets annoying. With a few home modifications I think it will work for me.

I have used it on one trip so far and I'm not sure how well it will hold up. The "Timbuk2" tag already came unstitched and the material has already stained a bit. I'm coming from using a Luluemon bag for travel and Lulus quality of product has always been unmatched.
It is designed well; however for the price I expected higher quality material and build.

I just received my Custom Division Laptop Backpack. I chose the cordura for all panels because I think it is the most durable of the fabric options. The quality of the fabric and finish are excellent. The cordura does make the bag a tiny bit heavier than I imagined. Overall I'm happy, but there are a few less than ideal aspects. First, the color is not what I expected. I'm very familiar with the challenges of representing or describing colors in catalogs and on websites. I choose colors with that in mind. On my laptop, the Steel color appeared to have a slightly greenish cast that I was hoping for. (I wanted a neutral gray-green.) Steel is actually a flat and mundane charcoal gray. Since it is a custom order, I can't return it. Second, the outside pocket is shallow but deep. You can use it for a passport or travel documents or a phone, but not anything requiring organization or volume. For some reason it has a long lanyard to attach keys, probably because anyone with large hands probably would not want to have to jam their hand in there. It's a relatively useless pocket. There is an organizational pocket inside (where I would normally want to put my keys), but that requires unzipping the large zipper. Not as useful a design as I was hoping. Third, the bag overall is not that deep. I was looking for a not-huge backpack, so that's great, but I didn't realize that it would have a tendency to tip over as a result. I haven't fully loaded it yet, so perhaps that will work better than it appears. Finally, the cinching buckles are excellent quality. However, they are place in such a way that they interfere with zipping and unzipping the bag! If you're picky about your laptop bag, as I am, this is a good option, but my level of satisfaction is not equal to the price.

I have had Timbuk2 backpack since I was in college so it has been about 20 years. This laptop backpack has nice cushion for the computer. Anyone who had a Timbuk2 backpack would know that their laptop storage section is better than any other brands. Straps and the quality of materials meet my expectation. The only thing that I do not like is storage/compartment unit. I wish there are more inside pockets that I can put my usb, external hard drive storage unit, earphone, chargers for laptop. I ordered a separate storage packet from another brand to solve this issue. But this design needs to be improved.

This bag was a gift for my husband. It has great pockets as seen and the materials are quality. The only reason for docking 2 stars; He is 6'3" and 190lbs and the bag straps don't fit him quite right. The chest strap is totally off for someone his height.

For me, this backpack turned out to be too small. The front pocket, because it is flat, is not super useful. And if the pack is packed, it is extremely difficult to get out your laptop from the sleeve. All that being said, it clearly is well made.

Same great quality, but disappointed that it is very narrow (doesn't expand at all) so can't keep all my things in it (that I used to keep in my old Timbuk2 backpack. Also disappointed that the tag doesn't identify it as being made in San Francisco (like my old one did) since I live in SF.

Bag is great, but the front pocket zipper is a bit had to zip and doesn't close all the way. Seems like maybe it is too close to seam of the fabric above it? Give my he cost of the bag I would have hoped for better. Otherwise it is good so far.

Overall it's a nice backpack for work or study contexts - two small cautions would be that the front zipper is pretty stiff and hard to operate smoothly and the material of the backpack got easily scratched just from general use on the first day and showed slight marks. Overall though, it seems sturdily made and a pretty reliable quality product.

TImbuk2 bags are great looking bags and some of them are decent quality. However the one I got is "Storm" and fabric feels too harsh, the straps are not comfortable whatsoever.

I'm sure this is a great walking/biking (?) backpack to keep a laptop safe and dry - there is SO MUCH padding! Problem is, there isn't room for my lunch OR my shoes for when I get to work. There are enough interior pockets to organize but only room for a few folders/notepads. And because the compartment is so narrow, it's difficult to see to the bottom for anything stored without unbuckling both sides and zipping all the way down.

I just bought and returned this bag. I am 5.9" and 175 lbs. The bag with the straps fully extended barely fits me over a shirt. I saw a similar review elsewhere. Why not make the straps longer? i never had this issue with other backpacks.

I want to recommend this bag. I really do, but the small pocket in the front is nearly impossible to open all the way to quickly access something you have stored in there. My biggest gripe though is with the expansion area at the bottom. If you have the buckles closed, it is not very easy to access anything at the bottom of the bag, and if you want to use the organization panel then you can't easily get to anything in the small pockets on the organizer panel.

I use this as my everyday bag to carry things to work. I find the straps slip a lot - I *have* to use the chest strap or the straps slip backwards, which is not a problem I've had with other backpacks. Also the chest strap is very high (I moved it to its lowest settings) and is uncomfortable.

I use this to carry my laptop and lunch to work. Was looking for something not too big but Could be just a little bigger. It tends to dig under my arm more on the right side, I am still playing with the straps to try to find the perfect fit, but havent found it yet. I love the looks of this

This is well-designed, but I couldn't get comfortable the straps. Despite multiple attempts at adjusting them, I found that The edges of the straps dug into my shoulders. The chest strap did not help.

Pros: Beautiful backpack. I was looking for a backpack that wasn't so dang huge, I didn't want to own a bag for a week and suddenly feel like I'm carrying a boulder on my back. It's just big enough for my laptop, some work papers and files, my personal electronics and chargers and it's not knocking people over when I turn around on the bus. Also, I like that it can be customized. So, yeah --- sleek size, professional and contemporary looking.
Cons: The adjustable shoulder straps don't hold their adjustment for more than a day. I adjust them in the morning and, by afternoon, the chest strap is choking me. Nothing I do can make these straps stay in place. And the zipper on the front panel requires two hands, you can't just sling it off one shoulder and unzip it with one hand to grab something. I need to take it off and use two hands --- one on the zipper and the other pulling the bag against the zipper --- to open it.
Despite the positives of the bag, the negatives make it so annoying that this is a fail to me. To be clear, the only fail out of a dozen or so bags (messenger & backpacks) I've purchased over the years, but this one is just annoys me on a daily basis.
These seemingly small annoyances are frequent and irksome enough to make this an atypical miss for Timbuk2 after years of hits.
