Good solid shoe, very functional but looks like a man's shoe in style and colors offered. I am keeping them but would so prefer a more feminine style and color.

They're a tad narrow pulling on and stiff in general. The arch is good and notable. I'd say it sits a tad to the back of the shoe. No insulation really but should keep me dry in and out of buildings this winter.

I wear an 8.5 but sized up to a 9 to allow for thick socks. I am walking out of these, and I'm not sure if it's just going up a half size (which I typically do in tennis shoes and boots) or if the heel is just too wide. I am returning and may try the 8.5. They felt comfortable and supportive.

Looking to replace old style Merrell Ice and leather slip-on walking shoes which were great in cold & snow. No longer available, the last pair I bought was much narrower than the old styles. Came upon this after looking at SAS slipons, I decided to try this one for winter walking (not in deep snow but possibly icy conditions). I got it in an 8 wide after pondering ordering also an 8.5 wide. So....out-of-the-box they were comfortable, walked around in the house (wearing a medium weight wool sock). They felt a bit heavy on the foot, but no big issues. Outside in the snow/ice, they performed well, held their grip on ice and were reasonably warm (same socks). I think an 8.5 would have been much too big and a 7.5 would have been tight. Glad I found them, hope they hold up.

Unfortunately, as far as i can tell Merrell does not make a narrow width. I bought my usual size 9.5 and it is just barely a tad short. Only noticeable after walking for a distance. But if i had gone up a size, the shoes would be WAY too wide. As is I must wear at least two pairs of socks to keep them from slipping. They are very warm and mostly pretty comfortable though. Love the gripping soles.
