The fit seems fine and the shoes are comfortable. I haven't tested them on ice and snow yet since winter hasn't really started yet. I got my daughter a pair too and she has been wearing them a lot. I got these to replace my old Merrells which have given me several years of good use. I only wish they came in colors other than black and brown.

Pro: great "arctic grip" soles, adequate width for my wide-ish foot even though they are mediums, can accommodate heavy socks Con: ugly styling, whose idea was it to put purple elastic in black shoes? also perhaps runs a bit long in the foot; and not as warm as I'd expected I kept these because I can't find anything better, but I'd love a tad more insulation, wide width sizes and please, black elastic in black shoes!

Wear this shoe daily in the winter. Good fit and good grip!

First I ordered a size 8.5 which ended up fitting too tight. So I exchanged it for a 9 which ended up being just right. I wear these shoes with thick winter socks so it was a little tight around the shoe collar, especially at the front. But after several days of wearing, these shoes were very comfortable. So I suggest ordering a half size up. I love that these winter shoes are not bulky and are comfortable slip-ons.

I ordered these shoes because of their Artic Grip soles. I needed stability walking on snow and ice after a mid winter hip replacement. These did the trick and gave me piece of mind. They are a bit clunky looking, but in the dead of winter it became a moot point due to how functional they are in bad weather.

I finally got the shoes with Vibram soles because I was tired of worrying I was going to break my neck on black ice in other shoes and boots - I just wanted to be able to walk my dog all winter, a simple wish! These shoes have Merrell comfort, they're sturdy and they feel secure on ice and wet roads and I feel confident in them... I was pleasantly surprised that I can slide my foot in and out of them while standing, although they are plenty snug and secure when walking. A great shoe, very happy!

I am a fan of Merrill shoes but have an awful time with the fit. Some (like sheepskin lined) I can get away with. But with socks, a winter necessity, these are just way too narrow even going up a size. Please give us fat footed folks an option.

I purchased these solely on the basis of the claim that they would prevent slipping/sliding on ice and snow. Today I had a chance to actually test this claim...and I am delighted to report that they kept me securely on my feet when I walked on several inches of fresh snow, including in the pressed-down tire tracks of cars that were more icy than snowy. I am very happy with my purchase!

I really like wearing these shoes when walking on icy, slushy sidewalks. Although they don't grip as well as strap on cleats, they do make me feel more secure than wearing regular shoes or boots. They felt a little tight when I first tried them on, but they are loosening up now as I break them in, and I am finding them to be more comfortable. I wish they were just a bit higher (a tiny bit more like a boot), but they are dressier this way, which is good. I definitely recommend these shoes to anyone who wants a good shoe for winter weather.

The computer would not let me put 5 stars for some reason but I surely would have rated them as a 5. They are a perfect fit and are waterproof as advertised. I wore them on two hikes in the snow and my feet were warm and dry after the hikes. The black color goes with slacks and jeans.

I am more than pleased with this purchase. After taking a bad fall on glaze ice last fall I was afraid to step outside. Not so any ore with these shoes. The fit, comfort & arch support of Merril footware make Merril my first choice of shoes. These did not diappoint!

This is my third pair of slip ons, and the best. Good grip, even on slushy ice, and my feet stay dry. Merrells never fail!

Over time (several wearings) the inside of the shoe loosens up...but still a little snug with thicker socks. Unlike your older models. Love, love, love the newer "arctic grip" soles...really feel more stable.

Someone gave me a pair of these, brand new, but with a bit of "furry" trim around the ankle. Sadly, I'm getting a damp big toe when I wear them in damp or slushy conditions. Is there any way to fix such a leak? I can't see it, but it must be a tiny hole somewhere.

Good quality shoe. Well made with good materials. The new Vibram soles deliver good traction on icy surfaces as promised, and my feet are staying dry. It's a quarter of a mile to the end of the driveway to get the mail each day, and with all of the thawing and re-freezing we've had this winter there are some areas that are very slippery. These shoes are letting me go right over those patches with no problem.

I bought these to replace a much loved pair of merrell's that were leather outers and the inside had fleece. They were more open backed, very comfortable, and I loved them. These are comfortable and I'd think they were absolutely wonderful if I hadn't had the others. These don't slide in the ice and snow, seem to be waterproof, but they don't keep my feet as warm as I had hoped.

I've worn these shoes in icy and snowy conditions, and have yet to slip even a little. They make me much more confident walking my dog in wintery conditions. So far, the waterproof claim also holds up. Only wish they came in wide sizes, as I have a very high instep and the tops are a bit snug.

So I can only wear thin socks. But the traction with these are great.

Heel is wider than expected.

These are even better than my old Merrell Mocs. They fit well and are quite comfortable. Looking forward to commuting in them this winter.

I've been looking for a work shoes that will last for a while, I'm on my feet all day and this shoes is very comfortable and I've made the right decision on purchasing this shoes. Thank's Merrell again :-)

This is a nice comfortable, mock shoe it keeps you warm, but there is no ice gripping on it so if you expect some thing that will not make you slide I do not recommend those shoes. That is the only downfall that I would say but I'm still wearing them because they are comfortable.
