I was looking for a comfortable but stable shoe for various activities at the fitness club. These are perfect. Good stability in all direction. Light weight but supportive. My husband bought a similar pair and wears them constantly. I'm not sure I would run outside in these as I like more padding but love them for indoors or just walking around. Great purchase.

These shoes were exactly what I was looking for- low profile, light for travel, I can run in them and hit the trails. BUT after about 6 months, they started to wear right where my toes bend so much so that the fabric wore down and I now have holes. There are 1-2" tears on each side of both shoes in the toebox. This does not affect their utility (except if I get dirt/water near holes), but a little discouraged by the quality.

This style is a little different than my normal Merrell purchase but its grown on me. I have always loved the minimal look and feel.

True to size. True to barefoot description. There is no sole / arch support in these shoes. Very light. I did not keep them as they were not what I was looking for.

These shoes feel like moccasins or ballet slippers with a tough sole. I love the Aleutian blue/purple color. They're very lightweight--almost too lightweight, especially across the top of the foot. The only thing I don't like are the too long shoe laces. They hang down and ruin the streamlined effect of the slipper-like look. I've had many compliments on them. The stripes on the inside are like ribbons. It's a very cute shoe and comfortable on my almost always achy feet.

I bought these shoes for hiking and city walking and though they look like sport shoes they are rather good looking sport shoes. I like the extra toe room and sleek lines.

These shoes are so light weight- it's amazing! I look forward to traveling with them. They are a bit boxy in the toe area, but that contributes to comfort factor in the end. I'm not sure they are cute with workout leggings, but they are super functional. I guess I'm willing to make a trade off :). My kids said they look a bit like "mom shoes". In my book, that means thru got the seal of approval. Thanks Zappos for speedy delivery as always!!

I'll start by saying I have a pair of Gloves from about 4 years ago. I'm guessing they were one of the original glove-style shoes Merrell had. I wore them year-round and from necessity decided to replace them. I went with the Trail Gloves over the Vapor Gloves because I do a lot of hiking and wanted just a bit more sole to the shoe and grip.
These shoes fit as I expected. I like the low heel and ankle cutout as that helps keep the minimal feel. They were more of a sturdier shoes than I was expecting. My original Gloves were so lightweight I could roll them up. These currently feel more durable, and though I wasn't expecting that, this meets my needs for hiking and I'm hoping it also means they hold up for at least several years.
Another feature I love is the tongue - I always have the tongue sliding to one side or the other after a few hours of wear in my other shoes. This shoe has a wrap-style to it to eliminate that problem, and I think it was a great design idea.
The Baltic color is more stunning than I expected. I ordered from another site just to get that color and it was well worth it.
My only real complaint is the laces - cheap and look and feel like they will tear off if I pull too hard. I'm hoping they don't snap after these shoes encounter water. For such an all around great shoe, I think Merrell could at least put some decent quality laces on.
I've yet to try them on the trail, as the weather hasn't quite allowed for that yet, but I'm excited to use them. Barefoot, zero-drop shoes are what I aim for and this shoe was a step up in sturdiness compared to most minimalist shoes that I think will suit my hiking needs nicely. Definitely not your super duper lightweight, ultra-flexible barefoot style, but a nice inbetween.

The toe area is cut at a slight slant, with length decreasing towards the outer edge. This could be an issue for some.

This is a great shoe but it is a bit stiffer than my liking. Also the tongue is a little longer making it touch ankle/shin area which became annoying. returning for this reason

Unfortunately, I ended up having to return these shoes. Although these shoes felt true to size in length and width, they pressed downward on my big toes. Also, I wrongly assumed that the non-black parts of the shoes would be gray, but they are actually blue.

I use these for hiking. I recommend getting a half size smaller if you can handle it. I wanted mine to fit snug like my rock climbing shoes. They will stretch a tad with use. Also wear a thin, moisture wicking sock; I have Asics quick lyte.
Don't go straight from box to trail. Wear them for a bit to get use to how your feet and body will adjust to the 0mm drop. Maybe wear for a day or two and a day off before full blown use.
The ability to safely feel what's under foot when hiking gives a greater sense of security and sure footedness.

I love barefoot shoes, but can't usually use them to hike because of the rocks and tree roots on the trail. These have just enough cushion that I think they will work! I've walked in them, but not yet hiked a real trail, so cannot say for sure.

These sneakers feel very flat, not a lot of support, not super comfy. I've only worn them once and frustrated that I spent money on sneakers that I'll never wear.

I really wanted to like these shoes, however I have wide feet and while they were lightweight and comfortable, there was not enough room in the toes and I felt like if I wore them for any length of time, my big toe would get chaffed.

I love the fit and style of this shoe. However, I have only had these shoes for three months and they are already starting to show tears in the mesh. This is from normal daily wear, not hiking or running. The mesh has torn on both shoes in areas where they bend when I walk. I would expect a shoe of this quality to last at least a year with casual wear, not three months.

These are labeled as barefoot shoes, but the sole is too thick for what I would consider barefoot. I couldn’t feel the ground and it kept my toes suspended with a more rounded up toe box. I have been wearing the vapor glove from Merrell for years, but theses didn’t quite live up to the super flexible, ground hugging barefoot feel I require. I didn’t want to risk having my feet or knees hurt, so I returned them in exchange for a new vapor glove. If you’re not put off by a thicker sole, they fit well with more arch support and looked awesome on my feet. I usually wear a 7.5-8 and the 8s fit perfectly.

Time will tell how I really like these. For now though they are too narrow and long. They also feel like they have a negative heel. There is no way to put a different insole in place. They are cute though. And I do like the way the tongue is part of the show so it can't slip to the side. Disappointed as Merrell has always been a great fit for me. Will not be buying shoes on line again.

I needed a pair of everyday sneakers. I bought these in a size 10. They were more attractive when they showed up and as soon as I slipped it on my foot it felt fantastic. But unfortunately it was a bit too short so I had to exchange them for a half size larger (medium width). As soon as I got the new pair in I was eager to put them on and start using them. Unfortunately the way the sneaker's tongue is essentially fused to the side of the shoe, when tying the tongue is diagonal and the corner pokes up into my foot. I guess the upper is too narrow for my foot :( So now it's returns-ville as soon as I can figure out how to return an exchange. *sigh

This is a cool shoe. It has great support and grip for being a barefoot, minimal shoe. I love the zero drop. I am just concerned that it won't have enough cushion for my old feet on 10 plus mile runs. I am returning them, but I definitely would still recommend the shoe to someone else.

If you have a narrower foot and want a nice looking minimalist shoe, this might be for you. A bit too narrow for me and just not that comfortable.

The fit was surprisingly small. I also wasn't used to the shape of the sole...it is rounded. I need a flatter sole for stability!
(Age-related!) I'm disappointed they don't fit as they are a favorite brand. I'll try another style for sure!
