Of all the gear I considered for an upcoming ski trip, I fretted over the jacket the most. There are many, MANY options across all price points, and a variety of styles. I had settled on either an insulated jacket or a 3-in-1. I'll be resort skiing, so I eventually settled on the multi-functional capability of a 3-in-1. Narrowing down a price point left me considering this North Face Triclimate jacket or the Patagonia Snowshot. Side by side, it was never really close. The North Face jacket surpasses it in nearly every category. This jacket is laden with features that are noticeably absent from its competitor, like pocket count, goggle wipe, etc. And in my opinion, the color options are better, too. I ordered the Hawaiian Sunset Orange, which I'm really pleased with. The size M was a perfect fit (I am 6'0" and 175 lbs). The outer shell is rugged without being stiff or heavy. The inner shell is extremely comfortable, and looks nice on its own. I'm very happy with my purchase, and I know this jacket will last many, many seasons.

Absolutely love the jacket I'm huge into working out and lifting so it's hard to find jackets that fit comfortably and look good but this one hit the mark

Love wearing this coat playing outside with my kids, held up great on the sled hill and kept me warm! Was out in a cold, windy Chicago night changing a flat tire last week, the coat held up to the wind and made the experience much more tolerable! I love it!

The Thermoball jacket is perfect for snowboarding. Very warm with the included liner, great fit and looks great. Highly reccomended. Used it in temps below zero with an expedition weight thermal and I was nice and warm.

I purchased this jacket to replace a bomb proof 2000-ish Mountain Jacket which I had many sentimental memories with. This new jacket is awesome. Same bomb proof construction. I just got back from a week long trip in BC in some pounding snow storms up on the mountain and I was warm and dry the entire time. The pockets, zippers, draw string are all perfectly placed. I love that the hood fits over my helmet. Overall very very happy with this jacket.

This product was the best 300 dollars I ever spent on something it does the job and it's reliable. I went riding with my bodies of four wheelers in negative 3 degrees and didn't feel no time of coldness besides the parts that weren't covered with the jacket I was totally warm I was shocked not only did it keep me warm it was nice and comfortable it also had lots of zippers which came in handy to put stuff away but also keep them in reach instead of having to look for it you'll have it in the zippers. I've spent more money on other jackets that sucked and didn't do it's job and this one does I'm really satisfied

I love it! Wore skiing and so warm and lightweight. Love the 2 additional chest pockets. The 3 in 1 style afford to remove inner puffy liner for warmer days. Also, the puffy inner is stylish and both can be worn in casual settings, active outdoors lifestyle as well as windbreaker and rain jacket.

I got this to replace a 2004 (*yes you read that right, I had my older jacket since 2004, wasn't faded either) Northface Radix with synthetic insulation and its held up over the years but it was showing its age, Velcro wind flap on the front started to fail. I got this delivered today and I must say I am very impressed with the quality, its not a Gore-Tex shell like my Northface Freethinker, this is different fabric all together. I will say its as solid as my old Radix. The color is nice and the blue zip offset the black jacket. The logo on the front chest/back looks to be "heat-treated", not sure how that will stand up to launderings, but it does say wash inside out. All my Northface products have the stitched logo: Radix, Apex Vest Freethinker. The Freethinker model I have "had" heat treated designs on the sleeves and shoulders, once they started to show wear I took a normal school eraser and rubbed off the remainder, it looks cleaner w/o it. I don't see any of the newer jackets follow that design model, I guess they figured it didn't hold up too well under normal wear/tear. All in all I will say this about NorthFace, there jackets do stand up to the elements just make sure you get the "right" northface. Freethinker is a "shell" to work with other layers like an Apex vest or other layers underneath. The triclimate already has that layer built it, so it works out. My Radix didn't need another layer it was that heavy but it didn't feel like that when you had it on and this new jacket feels just like that, "solid". The northface model jackets I tend to get I don't see anyone locally wearing them, makes you stand out in a crowd.

Bought this for my fianc and he loves it. Says it keeps him very warm, bought it a size larger than he wears so it fits loose but still somehow restricts movement in arms.

I bought this for skiing in Colorado. There were some days in which the temperature was in the 40sF. I used only the thermos all layer and it kept me comfortable enough. On the snowy and cloudy days with a temp of Low 30s, it kept me warm. It doesn't restrict your movements. Very comfortable. The hoodie fits over a helmet. It has a cloth wipe attached to clean your googles. This is a very versatile aNS good looking jacket.

Bought this for this years trip to Iceland. Experience says outer wear needs to be water proof and wind proof to withstand Icelandic winter. Looks good and feels good.
