I love the large front side zip pockets where I store water, lunch, cell phone and glasses. The hood easily fits over my helmet for the cold lift rides up the mountain. Very water and wind proof. Also love the wrist pocket where I store both of my passes. Most resorts can scan the passes without taking them out of the coat. Everything was perfect until on day 32 the main front zipper started getting stuck. However, Epic Mountain Gear gave me a replacement jacket at no charge, so no problem.

Great for cold weather. The insert gets used a lot by itself

The over all jacket keeps me warm and dry but the inner thermoball liner by itself needs better and more pockets. It is not that functional on its own when it is zipped out of the shell. I wish the hand pockets were zippered and an added chest pocket and/or inner pocket would be nice. Also, there is no Hem cinch-cord on the bottom of the liner. NF has this on their other thermoball jackets but not in this Triclimate liner.

Wish the inner liner jacket had internal pockets and elastic cuffs. Also the liners external hand pockets are buttoned, wish they were zippered like it says in the description. I emailed about that and still no response from NF. The outer shell is great, just wish the inner layer was just as good.

I used the jacket for skiing and it worked great. Very warm and comfortable. The only difficulty is that when you take the jacket off, the sleeves of the underjacket get loose easily and come off as you pull your arm out. So you have to remember to hold them with your hand. Other than that, it is a perfect product.

After spending a significant amount of time researching ski jackets at various price points and trying them on in stores, I ordered a Northface 3-in-1 Triclimate and am happy with the purchase. I believe it is the best value of all of the jackets I have seen. Did I like Arc'teryx more? Yes - but not at $1,000. Fits true to size. Well made zippers.

I took this on our recent ski trip out to the mountains and it worked like a gem. I love the color and all the photos nice and bright and perfect, it kept me nice and warm at the summit, and was easy to peel off the layers.

Great product especially for the price. With the liner it can be a bit fluffy.

I finally was able to put this jacket to the test snowboarding in Vermont this weekend and figured I'd help others with their decision of whether or not to purchase this jacket. Right off the bat I think that it is important to note that this is not the same thermoball insulator that you would buy separately; it is not self pack-able and lacks the interior pocket of its stand alone counterpart. The fit is also slightly different, feeling a little baggy in the torso but a little slim up on the shoulders. The shell on the other hand fit like a glove. It is stylish to the point that when it is cold/wet enough to warrant it, I wear it casually as a stand-alone piece. By itself it has plenty of pockets, a nice tall collar to cover your face when you need it, a snow-skirt, and a handy goggle wipe. I got use out of all of these features over the course of the weekend. On the snow, since the shell does fit well enough to wear casually, I found that when I bent over my lower back was exposed to the elements, I alleviated this problem by tucking my shirt in underneath the jacket but for the rest of the trip I wore my bib instead and never had to think twice. Wearing the jacket fully equipped is where it gets interesting. It is certainly on the heavier side, you notice the weight at first but once you get moving it becomes an after thought. I actually credit it for cushioning a pretty decent fall that I had at one point. The fit feels very slightly restrictive when you are just standing around trying to move your arms in extreme ways but I realized that once I got to riding I never felt like I couldn't move the way that I wanted to which was a huge relief because I had been stressing over whether or not I would experience a lack of mobility. The jacket is WARM when it is all put together, enough to make you sweat indoors, and forget about the temperature outdoors. As far as I can tell it is also extremely waterproof. Overall has its flaws but is a high performing piece.

Great for skiing! The base layer jacket is super warm and good for casual wear as well. The shell is great! Just wish it had more inside pockets. Only complaint though!

Inner jacket needs design improvements. I would suggest more color combinations.

I bought the jacket for ski season and though I haven't used it, I can tell that it will serve it's purpose. It's also warm for cold weather and snow season even if you're not skiing. I think it would be good to add extra small to the size options because it does feel big and not so stylish and other brands do offer that.

Love the thermoball tech but was not a huge fan of the Shell. I wish the Thermoball can zip into any shell from NF.

Seems like a great jacket, I like that it's 2 jackets in 1. I haven't got to try out to see how warm it is but it's heavy so it seems like it'll hold up.

I really liked the look of the jacket but it was just too big. I am 6’1 and 180 pounds, and the large was too big. It just felt like I was wearing a trash bag. I’m returning it to Zappos.
