i bought this jacket because i needed a new one, i had just gotten out of the hospital from having bad pneumonia so i needed a better jacket, my previous jacket was also a north face hyvent which i bought over 12 years ago and it was great but i had sold it. either way, i bought the olive color which isnt up here but it looks better than the others, i get a ton of compliments on the looks alone, the thermoball jacket is super light weight and awesome to wear on a regular chilly day but i always end up sweating a little because its just that warm, but with the shell on top, you feel absolutely no wind at all and it fits true to size im 5'8 160 lbs, was told to get a Small and it fits great with some extra room if needed. NYC winters do get brutal but i was always warm and always on the move with the jacket never felt cold or felt like i needed to rush inside to get warm especially after being very sick, i felt great with this jacket on! it had sold out last year so fast that i couldnt write a review because it was gone in stores and online..buy the jacket! it is warm and it will be what you need for sure and its not heavy or feels like a burden to wear.

I did research on several jackets and decided to go with the 3 in 1 parka thermoball. I was not disappointed. The versatility and quality makes this a must have for anyone who wants to feel warm and dry.

Excellent product. My advice for prospective buyers would be to understand the difference between a parka and a jacket. This might be too long for some.

I bought this jacket right before the air temperature dropped below -5 and the windchill below -25. This jacket is the warmest and most comfortable I have ever owned. The combination of outside pockets, including a strange but useful pocket on the left forearm, and the inside pockets provide a lot of flexibility. I am 5'9" and 160 lbs and I would normally purchase a medium. However, I used the "find my size" link and it recommended a small. I purchased the small and I'm glad I did. It is true to size based on the link but larger than the size I normally purchase.
Trust the link, not necessarily the size you would normally purchase.
Awesome jacket that's worth the price.

Amazing jacket! First of all, Iam 6'2" tall and weight 220 lbs and I bought the XL jacket. It fits perfectly. The arm length fits great and the jacket feels perfect around the mid section. The lenght of the jacket it great as well. I bought the TNF black. The Thermoball is very light weight and zips in and out of the jacket very easily. The main 3-1 jacket or the Triclimate parka has great waterproof pockets that have additional coating around the zippers to keep water out. the only wish I had was that they offered the online ability to swap out Thermoball colors so I could build a custom jacket. Also, not all fleeces and thermoballs fit with this jacket. They do offer plenty but make sure you are aware of this with any 3-1 jacket you buy. In regards to their warranty... Amazing. I bought a Summit Series jacket a decade ago and they still stood behind their product and provided me the option of a replacement or a gift card. So when considering a jacket, you will be buying an amazing warranty and getting amazing customer service.

I bought this jacket for my downtown commuting husband turns camper dad on the weekend. It's so warm and protective. Very practical when wind, rain, sleet and snow are all in the upcoming forecast. He loves it!

This jacket is excellent and super warm. I love the Thermoball interior and the large number of pockets. The only downside is that the fit of the coat isn't as slim as I would prefer, and the length of the jack is about 6 inches too long. Apart from those minor issues, I don't think you can find a better made and better overall coat.

I was looking for a great jacket that will be truly windproof, I got the jacket before heading to Washington DC and got to wear it there. It was on the 20s with a strong wind chill, the jacket kept me toasty warm as I explored the monuments. Great all around Jacket, bring it on Winter!

Great coat. Very warm and love the fact it
breaks down into 2 jackets. Thermoball is nice and very warm. My wife loves the heat as much as her TNF down coat. Getting ready for a winter hike and I am very happy I chose this coat.

Great coverage!! The Thermoball jacket alone works well when it's freezing out. And yet, when you combine is with this fully functional outer layer, it becomes the best coat ever. Great workmanship, sized right, and awesome color pattern. Tri-climates is a must have!

This jacket is unbelievably warm and versatile. Love the thermoball inside and I have never worn a jacket that can keep me warm like this. As a college student sitting at the bus stop often in the winter I do not think it gets any better. Also it looks cool.

This is a great jacket. The zip out lining is handy as I wear the liner only unless i'm going skiing. The jacket has great features including the helmet compatible and removable hood (one reviewer criticized the hood obviously not understanding the use for it), iPod pocket with headphone wire hole and guide loop, arm vents, and snow skirt.
The only change I would make to this jacket it to make the snow skirt usable with the liner zipped in to the shell. The way the it is made now, the liner has to be zipped to itself essentially making you wear the shell and liner as 2 individual jackets.

I purchased this jacket for my 13 year old. He is 5'7" and weighs about 125lbs. I ordered the men's medium and it fits him fine - with room to grow a little. He loves this coat because of the versatility. He camps and hikes frequently and is able to wear the inner layer as his primary jacket. The outer layer is Gortex and does a great job repelling water and wind. Together, the coat is extremely warm. I was pleased with the look and feel of the coat as well - though it did seem a little stiff at first. We recommend this product.

I LOVE this jacket!! The design is GREAT and I love all the pockets! Especially the media compatible pocket with the protected zipper and and hidden loop for your headphones! Literally has everything I was looking for in a winter coat! This is my second triclimate jacket and loved my other one too but had to buy this one because I lost my other one! After researching and trying on almost all the triclimate jackets TNF has to offer this by far is the BEST one!! Very lightweight and warm! I've always been a fan of the triclimate jackets because they're 3 jackets in one and I get cold very easily and on those really cold days i love that I can zip in my Nuptse down jacket into it and keep my extra toasty! I LOVE TNF! Would never buy any other brand!

What an amazing jacket. The best of all worlds with ultra warmth when needed and a quick zip out for when you don't. I would recommend this to everyone!

THOUGH THE JACKET WAS A BIT SMALL, YOU CAN FEEL THE WARMTH. It is quite a nice jacket. The sizing format is the only complaint that have. It said the recommended
siza should be medium when it should have been a large. Now I have to ship it back and then wait to be credited before ordering a larger size

i got this jacket for 2 weeks now. its a great all in one! u can take the outer shell off if its not raining and u have a nice thermoball layer that is thin yet keeps you warm. or you can use only the outer layer when its raining, yet not cold. the outer shell is thick and feels strong, and has an inner mesh on the inside. it also has a zipper to open up around the armpit area for better breath ability.
the only thing that got me to question if i should buy it was the fact that the thermoball does not fold into its own pocket. i dont know why they decided not to add that feature to this thermoball which would have been practical for spring and fall when the weather is unpredictable.
having said all that, i would still buy it again. it really is an amazing versatile jacket and i love the colors and the pockets !

received the Triclimate Snow Jacket recently and it appeared to be a great purchase. I say appeared since it is still warm here and I have not had a chance to use it. It is great looking and comfortable. It has all the features that I was looking for in a ski jacket. I am looking forward to skiing with it.

I went shopping for a new fall coat after needing a smaller size due to weight loss. I came across this jacket and it will be perfect for winter. I always get cold but the 'ball' material Northface is pushing is comfortable and warm. Wear this with a _ zip or sweatshirt and I'll be good to go.
