Very light weight. Used on hiking on 50 degrees weather. Love it. Fit perfectly, small size, I'm 5'4.

Love this jacket! I bought this jacket for layering during the spring and fall and it works really well for that. It turns out that I pretty much wear it everyday as it is light and easy to wear with anything. I have narrow shoulders and long arms and this jacket fits me very well.

I wore this for the first time for some chilly climbing in joshua tree. It kept me warm and shielded me from wind. The elastic waist strap kept it out of the way from my harness and it held up through gritty chimney climbing.

Works great as a mid-layer for back country ski trips. Fit it true to size...light weight...packs small.

I have used multiple midlayers from other outdoor gear companies, but this one is by far my favorite. It is insanely breathable and i never felt like i was overheated or needing to take it off as a midlayer while skiing in 37 degree (F) weather. It also kept me warm on the mountain when the temps dropped below 20. The fit is spot on and it is very comfortable. Paired with the Infinite Guarantee, there is no better option around.

Great breathable midlayer for high-output activities in very cold temps, or moderate output activities in moderate temps. I wear this over a compression shirt ski touring when temps are below ~25F. It stays warm even when wet, and breathes better than you'd think. It looks nice enough to wear around town too!

Light, warm, and the fit is good. I'm 5'11, weight about 170lb. A size M fits nicely. The only 2 things OR may consider improving are: - My elbows can feel the sewing from time to time if I wear a short-sleeve inside. - Right below the chest, there's some noticeable horizontal wrinkles in the outer shell.

This is an amazing jacket! For those old enough to remember how everyone had a Marmot Driclime 'wind shirt" this is it's replacement. The jacket for every activity and the perfect layer. Wear as top layer when skinning or throw it on at the top of a 3 hour mt. bike climb for the rowdy descent. Put it under layers when skiing lift serve or sitting around camp on cold nights. It's my new go to (after going through 4 driclime jackets over the years).

This is my new everyday layer. Great for around town, a breathable layer for ski touring on a brisk day or to layer under a jacket for colder conditions. The fabric is tougher than regular puffies but still soft against the skin. Definitely would recommend

Great jacket, I wear it just about everywhere, and have been pleasantly surprised that it hasn't ripped even after a few sandstone chimney struggles in it.

I love this jacket. Its great for active wear outside, but also doubles really well as lounge wear or running errands. Haven't had the weather yet, but I imagine it'd would great under a hard shell. Depending on your acclimatization, may or may not be warm enough for below freezing temps. I like that this jacket doesn't have zippered pockets, its oddly convenient, although I'm not rock climbing. Great for hikes, running, etc.

I have used this piece as a mid layer under my shell and as layer while on dawn patrol in the morning. The trim fit is a good descriptor, I went with an XL and it fits perfect. Under the shell but allows layering. I typically wear a L in the standard fit. If doing again, I would maybe reconsider the hood less model, but this model was on clearance. Hood fits with the shell, but a little extra bulk that I could without. But work alone I like the hood.

Light, packable, breathable, without letting the wind cut right through. When skinning up the Tetons or climbing in Cody, this is my go to mid layer. Don't wear it on the day your planning to thrutch your way up some chimney. As long as you have the sense not to do that, durability is a non-issue.

Go to light weight jacket. The sizing is correct for me (5'10", 220 lbs.) I usually wear a large in this type of jacket/mid layer as I want a tighter fit, so the previous reviews about going up a size was very helpful. I agree with previous reviews that zipper pockets would be nice, but the jacket has deep pockets which offset the need for a zipper. This will be my constant wear jacket from now on.

This is one of my favorite Outdoor Research items. It is the perfect midlayer and works well by itself or with accompanying layers. This hoody goes with me on almost all my Washington climbing trips. Additionally, it looks nice enough to wear in town/office which is nice. This is the second ascendant hoody I've owned and won't hesitate to buy a third if/when I need it.

This is an extremely versatile layer. The jacket breathes very well and dries even quicker. It will shed light rain and puts up with our sharp limestone rock quite well. I use it for outer layer on summer alpine climbs and waremr ice climbs and as a mid-layer on colder ice climbs. The main zipper tends to pucker up a bit which can be a bit annoying. Also, would love to see a large inside pocket for putting gloves in to dry while on belay. Otherwise a great piece and much recommended.

The most practical jacket I have ever owned ! Breaths very nicely, even when soaking wet it still insulates , and has just the right balance of breath ability, wind and water resistance !
