I recommend this jacket for very cold weather. It is super, super warm.

I wear this coat everyday during the cold winter. It's comfortable and warm. Only gripe is the hood doesn't tighten and it hangs down too far on my face

A+ winter jacket. Super warm and well-made. Love that the hood is insulated and has mask attached. Also love that the fur is removable ;) I'm 6'1 and Medium fit me perfectly. North Face makes an amazing product; don't trash it and it'll last a lifetime. Zappos > Payless.

This jacket proved its worth today, which happens to be on one of the coldest days in Ann Arbor, with a temperature of -15 F and a wind chill well into the negative twenties.

Bought this jacket instead of an overpriced Canada Goose Jacket and I'm glad I did! I've taken this jacket on two skiing/snow boarding trips this year and it holds up perfectly in the snow and sleet! It's well made, looks great & have reciveved multiple complements from it.

Hopefully I can get this $100 from North face so I can use it toward the north face vest!!!

I read a bunch of reviews prior to making a purchase. The hardest part, for me, was the sizing. I am a male, 5' 6", medium/large build, ~190 lbs. I typically wear 42 Short, for suits, 32/33 arm, 36 inch waist. 17 inch neck. I ordered Medium size Asphalt Grey color (now having tried this jacket, I think I am right in between Medium and Large). - Size and Fit - The picture on the website can be misleading. My guess is that Medium size down jacket is sized different from that of Medium fleece jacket. it looks slim, but it's not. It's not bulky either. Arm length is good. It fit "perfect" in the arm pit area - in other words, there's about one and a half index finger worth of room between my arm pit and the arm seam. This is interesting since i have a fleece jacket from North Face LARGE size with similar arm pit fit. I imagine if I wear a thick sweater the jacket would feel really tight for me. Torso area is a bit bulky though. Not quite the Michelin man bulky, but not super slim either, which makes sense since this is a down jacket. Hood is nice and big and detachable "fur" feels great as well. The bottom of the jacket comes down to crotch area, and when zipped, it feels a bit tight around my waist/hip area. - Material and Finish - First of all, a very well made jacket, expected of a jacket of this caliber and price. No mis-sewing. No noticeable defects of any kind. Outside material feels stiff. I like it that it feels a bit rough and stiff though. Haven't had a chance to experience the water resistance feature of the jacket though. - Summary. Overall, I like it. Tested at 20 deg with a short-sleeve t-shirt, no problem (but then my tolerance level to cold temperature is higher than average folks). Even in the coldest winter, here in New England, I'll most likely wear long-sleeve shirt and this jacket.

This is a great looking jacket. Warm and comfortable. I am very short 5'3" so the sleeves and length of the jacket were too long for me. If you are 5'7" or above it would be prefect in my opinion.

Best cost ever built. I don't usually write reviews, but when a product comes along that simply overachieved your expectations. You have to share with others. I recently purchased this coat and lucky I did. The east coat was just hit with a bone chilling cold front. 9 degrees during the day. Freezing. But wearing this coat I was warm and toasty. The coat protected me from the wind and the down filled inside kept me very warm. There is a built in neck gator I have never seen before. It's a life savor. Who wants to carry a neck gator with them? I sure don't and was glad one is built in, and it's hidden while not in use. Smart! If there is only one design flaw. I wish the jacket's hood has an adjustable strap in the middle of the hood. They have two on the sides, but a third one in then middle would of been perfect. Besides that it's perfect.

Love this coat. I wasn't a parka guy, but I see now why people buy these. Awesome

I wear it as a casual winter coat

I originally ordered this coat last Christmas for my husband. He LOVES it. So this year I ordered it for both of my sons and they are so happy!! Its is a warm, comfortable coat that they wear ALL THE TIME!! I recommend this coat very highly!!! It's great!!!

This jacket works perfect for me here in the Rockies. Size chart was spot on. I needed a high quality jacket for outdoor casual workwarm and wind proof and keeps me dry in the snow. Yes I have to shovel it cause my snow blower doesn't work half the time or snow not deep enough to use it. Comfortable getting in and out of vehicles. Great for all around use. Most importantly keeps me warm and dry!

Waited weeks for my size to come back in stock, finally got mine and couldn't be happier. I use it as my daily jacket, it's comfortable and looks great.

I bought this for my 17 yo son for Christmas and he loved it! It's lightweight but kept him very warm for his trip to Chicago. He is 6'1" 210 lbs. and the XL fit him perfectly even in the sleeve length. It's also very stylish.
